Balenciaga released an online "Gift Shop" advertising campaign featuring six young children[56] holding teddy bears dressed in bondage and BDSM gear, amidst empty wine glasses and champagne flutes.[57][58][59] Photographer Gabriele Galimberti claimed the images were part of a series of projects titled "Toy Stories".[59][60][61] All the children photographed are children of Balenciaga employees.[62] A few days later, a link was made between this campaign and another simultaneous Balenciaga campaign, "Garde-Robe" (with adidas),[63][59] where three photographs were the focus of criticism: A photograph of a bag placed on a Supreme Court document on the child pornography case United States v. Williams (2008),[64] a photograph of actress Isabelle Huppert, featuring the book As Sweet as It Gets (2014) by Belgian painter Michaël Borremans visible in the background.[65] The latter had already produced several paintings depicting naked young children.[66] Another photograph from the campaign features a diploma with the name John Phillip Fisher, a convicted incest offender.[66] On TikTok, videos of users destroying Balenciaga products made the controversy viral.[68] Among the brand's ambassador, Kim Kardashian expressed disgust and outrage,[69] and Nicole Kidman was criticized for refusing to denounce the campaign.[70] On November 22, Balenciaga removed both campaigns and apologized.[61] For the "Garde-Robe" campaign, Balenciaga announced that it was taking legal action against the production company North Six and set designer Nicholas Des Jardins, claiming that they were responsible for the advertisement with the child pornography court document. In response, the set designer's attorney said that Balenciaga representatives were present at the shoot and handled the papers and props used.[71][72] Balenciaga dropped their legal action on December 2.[73][60]

In November 2022, Balenciaga faced a major controversy over two advertising campaigns that sparked widespread backlash. The first campaign, part of the "Gift Shop" series, featured child models posing with plush teddy bear handbags adorned with bondage harnesses and leather accessories, which many perceived as promoting the sexualization of children. The second campaign, for the "Garde Robe" collection, included images of celebrities Nicole Kidman and Isabelle Huppert in a setting where real legal documents from a U.S. Supreme Court case on child sexual abuse imagery were used as props. This led to accusations that Balenciaga was condoning child exploitation, a claim fueled by viral social media posts and amplified by right-wing media. The controversy quickly escalated, with hashtags like #burnbalenciaga and #cancelbalenciaga amassing over 300 million views on TikTok, and resulting in online boycotts, symbolic acts of protest such as tearing up Balenciaga products, and even the vandalization of flagship stores in Los Angeles and London. In response, Balenciaga issued multiple apologies, taking full responsibility for the "wrong choice" of featuring children with the fetish-themed bear bags and acknowledging "a series of grievous errors". The brand removed the images from all platforms, took the plush bear bags off sale, and stated it was taking legal action against the creative agency and producers involved, alleging "inexplicable acts and omissions". The backlash also impacted the brand's relationships, with ambassador Kim Kardashian stating she was "shaken" by the images and re-evaluating her partnership, and the Business of Fashion rescinding a Global Award intended for creative director Demna. The incident marked one of Balenciaga's most significant public relations crises, highlighting the power of social media and the limits of provocative branding.

I got a bottle of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme. To me it's quite green because of the fresh cypress scent but it's probably more commonly described as spicy fresh. When you spray it on it's quite cool and refreshing. It has a bit of a cheap smell because of the sharp synthetic cypress notes but it's like someone tried their best to make that cheap smell more interesting by adding stuff in the background. You get sharpness from the patchouli and a bit of tobacco. I think they succeeded but it's a very masculine smell and quite offensive to the ladies which I'm ok with. Performance is decent, I feel it projects well but for people who consider anything other than a bomb to be lackluster it might not be enough.
>>18535553I also got a bottle of D&G Velvet Desert Oud. It is what they call a clean western oud, not the real stuff that smell animalic. It is very smoky, that campfire-on-your-clothes smoky. I also feel it has a kind of clean feel to it but I might be forcing it because the perfumer is Alberto Morillas. It certainly has a lot of sophistication. I'm not getting as much resin right now after wearing it for an hour or to but I did earlier on, a lot. The sillage is not explosive but it's tenacious, it wafts easily. I'm certain it will last quite a bit but the projection might die down. I usually stick to discontinued stuff but I have two others from the velvet line and I wanted to continue the collection. Like the others I have (Velvet Patchouli and Velvet Wood) this one is very unisex. I thought Velvet Patchouli was quite feminine at first but now I think it's more masculine and I enjoy it quite a bit. Desert Oud is more in line with Velvet Wood, while unisex they lean a bit feminine to me because of the fancy, sophisticated, woodiness. I gifted it but I'll try it more to see if it grows on me. There is something about the gummy resin that is a bit strange to me. The dark appearance of the bottle is painted on and it was coming off in parts, I thought it was fake at first but after comparing it carefully to my legit bottles it's actually real.
>>18535564Finally, I also got a bottle of Gucci Pour Homme 2. Unfortunately all I smell is a sweetened tea, it's quite smooth almost rubbery texture. Someone did tell me it smells amazing, masculine, and something that would attract the ladies. I'll try it with a fresh nose another day and hopefully get more complexity. The performance is not great but it lets you enjoy the fragrance with little effort. It just wont reach people at a distance and it wont stay for hours. The bottle is beautiful, if it wasn't so expensive now it would be worth it just for that.

>>18535749thanks
>>18535707Fucking yeesh. And it’s $340 for the US, so you’re getting charged an extra ~50 dollars. I’m curious, but not 340 dollars curious, 6.8 dollars a ml is a joke. If he tosses it in a sample kit that includes Heraud I’d sample it, but unless it takes me on a vision quest when I sniff it that’s a hard pass.
>>18535752Kek. Answered my own question. He made a discovery set specifically for his most recent releases (plus L’oudh and incense rose) and it’s sold out and hidden at the bottom.
>>18535707Tauer has some great stuff like Rose de Kandahar and his Incense duo, but I can't shill for it anymore due to his use of AI and his ever increasing prices. He makes quality stuff and price increases are often necessary due to tariffs and inflation but it's just hard to recommend to the average person. AI makes everything look cheap and tasteless so I always avoid it. Andy has definitely lost the thread but I'm always rooting for him, still better than the industry standard hack.
>>18535757I’ve been waiting to finish my bottle of ACDD and considering replacing it with Incense Rose because it’s beautiful. Hadn’t paid close attention to his pricing, but if >>18535752 is anything to go off of, you seem to be correct.
>>18535752Heraud is nice, quite a people pleaser but once I smelled the sweet ambroxness of it, as some people pointed out, I couldn't un-smell it. The base is the most amazing premium vanilla I have ever smelled.
In today's episode of my search for THE vetiver frag, I got my Jacques Fath discovery set and tried Vetiver Gris. It's less creamy that Fat Electrician in the sense that it doesn't smell like caramel cream as much as FE, but it's sweeter, fresher, flowery and lightly citrusy, with vetiver as a background note, and it doesn't feel like anything special in terms of quality.Definitely not what I was looking for.Aside from Guerlain Vetiver, every other frag that I still have some hopes for is about as expensive as Sycomore, so that's a bit of an annoyance, and among the more reasonably priced frags the one I liked best is Grety Vetiver EDP, with Fat Electrician and Encre Noire being close enough.I should have the time to go and try Vetiver Tonka in a few days, and maybe at some point I'll try Vetiver Extraordinaire and Vetiver Moloko, but I'm not holding my breath.
>>18535762Guerlain Vetiver EDT is regarded as the reference vetiver for a good reason, anon
>>18535764guerlain vetiver is mostly a tobacco frag, and it's not the reference vetiver even on 4channel
>>18535759I bought Incense Extreme 4 months ago, it was $205 (same as Incense Rose) and they now go for $260. That was 'right' after he had a new US specific site and increased prices from his old site which had them for $180 or something. I bought Golestan at the same time for $215 and it's now $280. It super feelsbadman.
>>18535765wrong again
>>18535769I think it's funny how your posts consist of a few snarky remarks and never include explanations or impressions or descriptions, you just go wrong, this is the best, this is bad, lol, lmao and so on and so forthit's as if you're unable to write anything more detailed than that
>>18535773so much words just to be wrong again
>>18535515That's the eau givree flanker though. It's structurally less deep and more fleeting citrus.
There is something about this that assaults my nose. Is it the sea salt?
>>18535787calone maybe?
>>18535787It has a sort of pickles accord from the cypress and """salt""".Doesn't happen with any other frag?
>>18535787I get this too, with all "marine" scents. Acqua di Gio, Chanel Allure sport, Clinique happy, this marine note smells similar to pickle as someone said and it kills these fragrances for me.I loved Summer Vibes on the strip, loved it, and then suddenly smells like this on skin.
SOTD: picrelIt's the latest addition to my collection and I'm increasingly liking it more and more
>>18535789Not sure, I don't have any other marine fragrance besides Cool Water and it's hard to tell what exactly is the culprit with that one.>>18535790Bleu de Chanel although I believe it's the incense.>>18535791Allure Homme Sport was inoffensive to my nose so I'm not sure.
Is the anon who got the ALD attar set ITT? They are releasing single bottles tomorrow, I’m interested in your impressions of them. Theres a few that sound really nice that I might get.
>>18535812how much do they cost?
>>18535824I think the full set was $500 for 4 attars but they will probably be priced higher for individual bottles. Not sure how much the spray bottle bundle was.
Imagine giving money to the likes of ALD, absolutely wheezing
>>18535832there's no way those frags and attars worth it
>>18535835Yeah. Going off the descriptions they sound cool but after reading some reviews they sound like they smell like extremely opulent and complex garbage.
I kind of want to buy a travel spray of angel share with my sephora 20% coupon but I already have too many winter scents to choose from.
>>18535765Maybe I'm a noselet but I don't even get tobacco on guerlain vetiver edt
Anybody else getting into retro cheap shit? Jovan Musk, Stetson, etcSome of them are surprisingly decent performers, let alone at a $20 price point. I just can’t justify anything over $100 for a bottle, and I don’t care that much about super niche appreciation haha What are some other cheap crowd pleasers you all like?
>>18535975>I already have too manyno such thing. also its a travel spray who cares

Ok, might be a long shot but I need a fragrance detective. I am looking for a fragrance, a women's fragrance that would have a pink lid, but the very top was chrome, maybe a logo stamped on it. I thought it was pic related at first. but the top looks to be uniform color. Anyone know something matching this description? This is all the information I have to go on.
Yup, glad I didn't listen to you faggots.PC is way too sweet and fruity, almost feminine (guess that's why broccoli heads love it).L'immensite smells way too much like a generic blue, and dries down to a sweaty arab man.Imagination is clearly the winner here.
