Anyone else feel like all modern releases smell sort of effeminate?
>>18534704I think we're moving away from clearly masculine "seductive" ambrofix stuff into more unisex, clean, versatile scent profiles
>>18534704the last truly masculine fragrance has been sauvage elixir and it's pretty recent
>>18534707doubt
>>18534717Why? It's true. The newer floral frags for men are relatively unisex (see how similar YSL MYSLF is to Libre) and are all about versatility and being mass-pleasing.
>trend shifting from synthetic blue frags into fresher, natural-smelling floralsbased
Is this ok if I'm attending a wedding?
>>18534736like 1 max 2 sprays
>>18534736The normal Noir Extreme is better, but yes it and Parfum are two of the few classy gourmands I've triedParfum is heavier and more smoky
Im trying to sell a large decant and have two offers on it right now. Would you rather have $80 cold hard or 100ml of Guerlain Vetiver?
>>18534740Projection isn't that great though>>18534742My nose must be fucked because vetiver smells like cat piss to me
>>18534742Guerlain vetiver was going for like 50 on discounters just a while ago, wtf happened
>>18534733>natural-smelling floralsWhich of the ones being pushed smells "natural"?
>>18534747Both myslf and paradigme smell infinitely more natural than sauvage, bdc or y just by virtue of being very neroli-forward.>but myslf has an ambrofix baseI know but it doesn't have the "blue" scent profile
>>18534747>>18534748sorry I messed up paradigme has no neroli but geranium. it's not as good as myslf though
>>18534747Not being pushed, but Matiere Premiere's Neroli Oranger is excellent. I will never buy it because poor longevity for something so expensive is inexcusable, but it smells amazing.
>>18534753>Not being pushedIt's one of the most hyped up niche brands by tiktok influencers
>>18534746Someone in a previous thread said its because Guerlain’s parent company is trying to push the brand more upmarket. But I did also see a financial headline saying retail profits are high this quarter on the back of price hikes. So its likely that the explanation is that upmarket branding is a facade for good old fashioned judaism. Anyway the guy is actually offering a 150ml bottle which I think I’ll accept. Not that I’ll ever use that much but luv me guerlains simple as
>>18534757>Guerlain’s parent company is trying to push the brand more upmarketDon't they have their private collection for that? You're right it's just jewryFrags in general have become much more expensive
I really like Prada l'Homme. I think I've been overexposed to hyper spicy gourmandslop and ouds because something simple and clean feels very refreshing
>>18534722whenever i walk past a group of zoomers it smells like cotton candy + aromas i can't identify
>>18534743you will be at a wedding (not your own) and around people where you will be eatinga sweet strong frag would make people sick
>>18534763Most zoomers are still on the JPG and Armani SWY trainLe Male Elixir smells sickly sweet, in comparison MYSLF is much fresher.
What perfume are you wearing in the upcoming civil war?
>>18534790nothing ever happens
>>18534790>What perfume are you wearing in the upcoming civil war?something from Balenciaga
>harry potternicolaitranny can't stop catching L's
>>18534790My guerlain vetiver arrived today. So I would wear it especially in a wooded forest type of area. Mainly because Napoleon wore guerlain - nevermind I googled it and he wore 4711. Thankfully that also arrived today, a sign from the gods? Smells like an old man barbershop though
Thoughts on the Margiela Replica line? Specifically Jazz Club and At the Barber's
>>18534840>At the Barber'sis this still available?
>>18534790Rien

>>18534851Considering how unisex it is, this really confirms that women like to smell on men fragrances that they can see themselves wearing
>>18534956it's pretty good.
>OP picSomeone give me a quick rundown on this, everyone on fragrantica says it's shit so I'm inclined to believe it's at least a decent frag
>>18535220People who say it's generic haven't smelled it, it's pretty unconventional for a designer men's fragrance. It dries down into something that's a bit too sweet imo, but the overall scent profile is interesting

Best florals for men? Not rose centric pls
>>18535394MYSLFdont like designerslop but it's well blended for me. Wish it was more jasmine-centric tho, but neroli is OK.
>>18535394neroli intense, cerruti 1881, aramis 900, tea rose>could a radiowave set off gasolineantaeus (:<

>>18535501I’ve been a bit puzzled by this question, because one of my first “neroli” centric fragrances was Neroli Mediterraneo and I absolutely love it to death, but I have yet to find another neroli fragrance that smells anything like it. So I’m torn, is NM as truly a fantastic fragrance as I think and nothing else comes close, or is there some other note dominating NM that has me confused as to what I -think- is neroli, but is actually something else. I have samples of all 3 MYSLF’s on the way because they’ve been getting a lot of talk here and I’m curious if they’ll be what I’m looking for.

How do we feel about patchouli fragrances?
>>18534704I tried Le Beau Le Parfum, Scandal , Sacred Bond and Blue Talisman last week and while they smell nice they give me strong femenine vibes, but this makes me curious about trying 80s and 90s women frags.

What's the best leather fragrance out of these 4? Ombré leatherGodolphinTuscan leatherGucci Guilty Absolute
>>18535619I didn't like patchouli at first but I've come around to appreciate it. It has a lot of different facets so it is very interesting on its own and creates beautiful sillage. I like Diptyque Tempo, Mazzolari Lui and Guerlain Heritage.

My l'homme ideal EDT just arrived. It's my first tester, the bottle smells a bit weird, don't know how common that is in testers, but the juice is, as expected, original and smells great. It also says tester not for sale in the bottom, no missing cap or other weird shenanigans. Maybe I'll get the intense or extreme flankers in the future, as I'm not a massive fan of the cherry in the EDP
>>18535739neatI have one tester that came in a blank box but the whole bottle was perfect it even had the capand I have one tester without the cap that came in it's original box
>>18535271They say it's the same as Moustache which I am not a fan of, but I can't find it anywhere around here
>>18535748Should be very close. It's a scent for a man in his 40s that is a bit sophisticated but not pretentious. I love wearing it in the fall.
>>18535748it is not the samethey are similar in being resinous masculine scentsbut it's "influencers" who started the meme of moustache being tuxedo for cheap
>>18535742Yeah it was in a blank box as expected, it had some guerlain logo stuff on it tho, but I don't think it's worth keeping. Meanwhile the weird smell, maybe some packaging thing
I have shown my girlfriend a ton of expensive frags but this one is her favorite. I've worn nearly everything in the creed lineup, a couple jpgs, tom fords, and lvs. She always said they smelled good but never any real reaction. She smelled this cheap gucci guilty edt at a duty free with me and freaked out about how good it smelled and how she wanted me to smell like this. I dont think it smells bad but it just smells cheap and basic to me. Is there anything out there similar but a little more refined?
>>18535840Good designers eventually reign supreme in terms of attractiveness. Sure, they produce lots of garbage these days but when they try, they always obliterate any quirky niche garbage.
>>18535840pretentious faggot
>>18535840I'm sure you've tried em, but Allure Homme Sport and Platinum Egoiste. Girls also tend to like the Y line, for me the Elixir is the best one.
>>18535840probably reminded her of her daddy
New guy here, only at it for a few months, how is my collection currently? What should I get next? Maybe some freshies?
>>18535936It's the bull's frag probably
>>18535939have you tried the kenzo homme line?i love the edp, very distinctive

>>18536004Idk sounds interesting but id have to try it >>18536016I'd say it's 7 bottles, the 4711 was just for fun the boss and Hugo in the back are old ones I had, one of them being empty. Using up 9 of these bottles would take years and years of daily use, are you telling me to disappear? I can afford it or else I wouldn't buy them, that being said I will stop buying for a while >>18536021It was like 2 posts and it's because I don't want to have shit in there that I don't like, for example, I ended up not liking the ysl l'homme EDP
>>18536023more like 20 but I get itand don't ask the thread what to get, instead look at what interests you since... you know..... it's your collection
I don't even like my JPG ultramale anymore, but I still have to finish the bottle
>>18536057I know that feel. I blind bought this and I don't quite get it. I wanted something with oud that wasn't like oud wood and I kind of liked oud minerale. But this one is different, is citrusy, smells a bit like roses for a while, then it's just a sensation on my nose that I'm not sure if I like it or not. I wanted something deep, woody and nice smelling. I also tried Guerlain oud esenciel and was a bit better. But because I really liked ADP leather I thought this was also going to be a banger. Guess I'll try it out more and find out when it shines Oud wood does smell like a barnyard.
>>18536021>shilling it 3 years later still?i haven't even been posting here for a yearyou on the other hand clearly spend far too much time posting here
>>18536098Does it (AdP Oud) perform well for you at least? I tried a dab-on sample and while I like the scent it seemed underwhelming for an EdP.
>>18536115It kind of does, and over two sprays feels like too much.Wearing it right now for a night with the orchestra but it doesn't feel formal either.
>>18536153Interesting, I suppose the oud and leather accords aren't very dressy. I've only worn it casually and friends tend to comment on it favorably. Are you playing this concert or attending? I imagine a cool cellist wearing Oud.
>>18535702But enough about your mother's past and present sexual partners...
>>18536162bodied that freak
>>18536157I play the jew's harp in a local indie folk band and we're about to have jam sesh at a vegan coffee shop today.
>>18536164The moment I hear the tuning of a banjo I'm going to slam my Macbook Air shut and hightail it outta there.
>>18536157Attending, I've been paying attention to the smell and I think that it's more suitable for a more mature man, I'm 33 and feels like I'm too young to wear this. I'm also wearing a suede jacket that smells very potent. It's not bad by any means but I think I wasn't ready for it. It's not aggressive not unpleasant, it's sharp and unusual.Hope the night is treating you well, anon. Cheers. What are you wearing tonight?
imagine being over 30 and thinking you're not included in the mature crowd
>>18536211For sure, I wore Vetiver Parfum to the opera a while back and it seemed about right. Not too much for sitting next to someone for several hours. I would buy the classic edt next time though. Tonight I'm going out with the gf so I've got my Lalique White in Black. It just werx.
>>18536167>Macbook Airfreak.
>>18536057I hate throwing away any bottle that’s not empty (or giving something away unless I bought it intending to gift it) so I understand. I just put stuff away in the back of my closet and will come back to it later, did this with 3-4 frags at the beginning of summer and prob won’t pull them out for another year or so. >>18536115>seemed underwhelmingPretty descriptive of AdP in general.

>>18536222I was curious about white in black, do you like it and does your gf likes it too?I also have vetiver parfum, I like it over the original EDT. The latter one leaves me with a sticky smell that is not completely pleasant to my nose. I gave the bottle to a friend and I can smell it on the air when he wears it, it's also a bit too mature, maybe old fashioned, the parfum is a bit more modern and has everything I liked about the original. My gf enjoys BDC l'exclusif and la nuit de l'homme le parfum the most in my collection. I'm not too sure if I can recommend l'exclusif, I've been complemented but I cannot smell it on myself. I like parfum over that one.>>18536246Leather is nice, I wear it at home just to enjoy some smellz. I wouldn't call it underwhelming.

do you keep the boxes or do you throw them away? i hate when companies put too much effort into boxes but some end up being too nice to throw away despite being useless.
>>18536496I used to toss them. Now I keep them because I have a lot of bottles and its easier to stack them when they are in boxes
>>18536312>giving Bond No 9 money>everDisgusting
>>18536496started keeping 'em because I'm autistickept keeping them because I might as well and I've done it for all the othersgonna continue keeping them because I might be selling some frags
>>18536497stacking them upright takes up crazy space, stacking them sideways will ruin the fragrance
>>18536496I keep them and put the bottle immediately in front of the box. It’s a weird autistic display thing, but it’s also nice to have something to put them in if I ever wanna take a break from them and store them for a while, or if I need to move.
>>18536504You could crumble under the sheer weight of a simple Tetris game
>>18536484Im a rural working class guy. I own my own saw mill and yes I use gloves when I work outside.
>>18536316>I was curious about white in black, do you like it and does your gf likes it too?Yeah, of all the things I've worn going out she likes WiB the most. And it's great, a very balanced and well blended woody/amber that isn't too sweet or syrupy. Admittedly, it's a rather safe and designer-ish release for Lalique. I would appreciate if it had one added note with some brashness, like a leather or smoky accord. >the parfum is a bit more modern and has everything I liked about the original. I remember there being a sweetness from the tonka which I didn't love. But I'll have to start wearing it again now that fall is coming up. >My gf enjoys BDC l'exclusif and la nuit de l'homme le parfum the most in my collection. Nice, I haven't yet smelled those two but I am curious about the L'exclusif. Going by the notes and description it doesn't sound like much of a 'blue' profile, which I would probably like.

Payday pickups, hopefully all of them will be here this week>Kouros TattooPretty interested in this one. I hadn't heard of it at all and it seems to be a relatively forgotten Kouros flanker. Neat bottle and reviews say it holds the OG DNA which Body doesn't so I'm very excited to test it. For $100 I couldn't say no. >Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT One of the classics, got a partial with a janky sprayer for next to nothing. People say it's similar to Eau Sauvage which I'm doubtful of, but if it ends up being a chypre twist on it I'll probably get some use out of it.>L'air du Desert MarocainBeen seeing this glazed as a sleeper hit and one of the best artistic perfumes available, and seeing a mostly full partial with the tin at 40% off of retail I figured I'd pick it up. Don't see them come up secondhand much and when they do they move fast, so a relatively low risk pickup for sure. >Angels Share travel sprayFigured I'd grab it with my 20% off sephora coupon. Wasn't much more expensive than going to a private decanter and I get a couple of samples with it. Might be fun for a pumpkin date with the gf or something.>Musk Khabib attarGot this one last week but I suspect it will arrive monday or tuesday, never used an attar and I love musks. Keen to try a natural deer musk fragrance even though I've heard the opening on this one smells like raw meat.
>>18536247is that a Bvlgari hiding behind Blue Jeans?Which one is it and what do you think of it?
Why is explorer platinum considered polarizing? It's one of my favorite frags and I feel like it's smell should be mass appealing, but there are tons of very negative reviews about it.
I wanna spray this on a hot woman's vagina and lick her clean

Myslf EDP or Parfum?Which is better? Which is more versatile? Which has better performance?
>>18536682neither, stop shilling this shit
>>18536631Most negative reviews I see of it are saying it’s super generic, which if its mass appealing as you claim, it probably -is- very safe and generic, AKA boring. Nothing wrong with that, but some people want more out of their fragrance than just “safe”. >>18536643The parfum is an odd choice. It dials back what makes Fahrenheit “Fahrenheit” which inherently makes it less interesting, in my opinion. If you like the scent profile either lean into it with the EdT or not at all.
>>18536682>which of these lab tested focus grouped ultra safe normie slops designed for one and done fragrance buyers is betterThe parfum will have better performance because thats the point of parfums. The DNA is inherently boring. Its a generic clean laundry smell with no drydown or any dynamic features. It smells the same at hour 1 as hour 10 and that smell is boring as fuck after minute 1. I bought a decant of the EDP and I usually don’t mind linear fragrances but this was a whole new level of absolute uninspired trash. Buy MYSLF if you are like under 25 and want a fragrance to last you until you’re over 25 and need something serious.
>>18536648>that would be extremely bitterFor you
