Reminder that if you want to attract MILFs and cougars, wear Drakkar Noir. Don't wear Le Male.
MANLY CITRUS
The good thing about working with smaller brands is that they often have a larger budget. For instance I can use a wonderful aged patchouli that the larger brands employing me wouldn’t use due to it not being cost effective or scalable. I do use some rather expensive naturals, but very rarely and only for one brand I work for.
>Dior Sauvage is the best male fragrance in the world
It's all you need.
You schizos better behave this time
Accidently ordered 2 therre d hermes, both have different batch codes, i want to send 1 back, should i keep the newer or older one?
>>18564280Dude Drakkar Noir sucks now. Lasts like an hour or two tops, including as a barely noticeable skin scent. You have to find a 2010 formulation bottle for it to be worth wearing. That's with twice as much as I have to wear compared to the older versions. It just isn't worth it anymore.Wear Armaf Legasi if you want that same scent but a little more metallic. If you want slightly greener version, Lomani Pour Homme is great for like $8. Longevity is ass on it too, maybe like 4 hours total, but it costs like half as much and lasts twice as long as the current Drakkar Noir. One Man Show Emerald if you want something that green soapy. That's around the same price as Drakkar Noir. 6-8 hours on my skin (one spray one each wrist, one behind each ear, one or two between the collar bones).I love Drakkar Noir, but it's time to accept L'Oreal killed it so they could release Drakkar Intense (which is fantastic but a modern boozy patchouli and amber) and Drakkar Bleu.>>18564286Fuck off. The only good Axe is the new Fine Fragrance line and it costs as much as a cheap cologne so there's no reason to use it in the first place. Just buy Cuba Gold.
Thoughts on this? I bought it for my mom, feel like it's a bit "young" for her but it smells really. Definitely not very unisex, it's really feminine
>tfw you ask for dior sauvage for your birthday and your dumb cow of a mum gets you eau sauvage
SOTD The almighty Kouros
>>18564297you don't buy Kouros, Kouros buys YOU
>>18564289Look for the formulation code on the back. If they're the same, keep the newer batch. If there's no code after/before the ingredients list, look at the copyright date. Keep the older date. If the same, keep the newer batch.Batch to batch shouldn't vary too much unless you're a company like Creed and can't figure your supply chain out. Usually it's reformulations that make something significantly weaker.I'm gonna use Drakkar Noir as an example. I have two bottles from around the same time. One is a 30mL one is 100 mL.The 30mL has a copyright date of 2010 because it uses an older formulation. Lasts 6 hours on my skin easily, maybe a barely there skin scent at 8 hours. My 100mL bottle is a 2020 copyright date, it smells watered down, is only noticeable for an hour with two sprays on each wrist, at hour 2 it's a skin scent you can just barely notice, hour 3 it's almost completely gone. It basically has a quarter to a third of the performance of the 2010s formula. Both were purchased from the same store so I know they're both legit.F.I.L. is the formulation number, it means something like "Fragrance ingredients list".
>>18564296Anon mogged by his mom's good taste.
>>18564293have to agree, it used to be a good long lasting thing, now its 80som dollars and cant take 8 hours
>>18564300Thanks for the Detailed explanation, its indeed the same, im gonna keep the newer
>>18564296She did nothing wrong.
>>18564297>>18564298kyssss
There's no way Kouros smells good, at the least the new reformulations have to be pretty meh, which I'm assuming the anons here are using
>>18564293*blocks your path*
>>18564311The opening smells like piss, the drydown smells like soap.
>>18564313That's so hard to find now though. I'm debating getting the oil and spraying the current weak ass Drakkar Noir on top.
>>18564317It smells like literal shit
>>18564293You think that's bad? You should try Dunhill Desire Red. The performance is really really bad. Only 2 hours.
>>18564320No it doesn't. It smells like sweaty balls or piss and soap. That's why people say it smells like a urinal cake.
>>18564322Yeah that is bad. It's objectively bad because the 2010s formulation which already wasn't the best lasted 3-4x longer. It performs like Axe body spray now.I'm gonna keep the 100mL bottle in my work bag or something and use it when I feel gross or I'm in a rush, but otherwise I've started using One Man Show Emerald as my go-to fougere. It costs about the same too, and it's strong enough that 5 sprays lasts me an entire work day.
>>18564330If you're not poor you can get Duc de Vervins Extreme
I am so happy I bought al rehab lord. I hate the smell but that means I dodged the kouros/lapidus bullet.
>>18564296Be glad your mom gave you anything man, my mother used to put out cigarettes on my forearms if I misbehaved
>>18564335Yeah same. Even worse in my case, my mom bought me ck one and Hugo boss hugo back in the day
>>18564332Too cheap. I'm not gonna pay 5x as much as Drakkar Noir for something that's only gonna last an hour or two longer than the 2010s version.
>>18564342I just thought of how your girlfriend and friends parents, and aunts or uncles who didn't care enough to buy you a real present always gave people whatever Axe body spray they could find the cheapest.Usually something like Dark Temptation or Gold.
>>18564346Make your own Drakkar noir according to 1980s Dragoco (now symrise) Guideline formulations. The aromachemicals that made up old Drakkar are still readily available and relatively inexpensive
>>18564252>It is THE reference vetiver.it is NOT
>>18564360You wouldn't happen to have a link to it would you? I'm just finding a newsletter or something.
I got a bottle of L'Artisan Parfumeur Premier Figuier. It's more fig leaf than fig fruit but it's still quite enjoyable. It starts green, leafy and fresh which lasts for a bit before turning more into a pine woody scent. It's subtle and doesn't project much but it's quite nice, the only part that lasts a bit is the pine in the base and that can smell a little generic and cheap. Fig leafs themselves don't have much of a smell so maybe making it stronger would turn too synthetic. I don't pick up any fig fruit myself and the other notes just make the main notes really smooth and soft, there is no sharpness to the composition.
>>18564376>Fig leafs themselves don't have much of a smellLol. Lmao even
This smells like rubber. Like how the air inside a sports ball smells due to the rubber bladder.
>>18564283How common is it for companies to start a perfume or line with naturals and then either cancel the line and move on to something similar with synthetics or just reformulate it to be cheaper? I feel companies do this bait and switch all the time. You see stuff get discontinued just for something really similar to be introduced or people start complaining about how it smells different.
>>18564378Urbanites and nons don't know what things actually smell like
>Eau sauvage
>>18564364You won’t find it online. I can get it if you’re interested >>18564382Too many, I find that many marketing firms lean heavily on the “all natural” idea because it’s easy to sell to consumers, I myself have had to create all natural fragrances in the past. Many fragrances get reformulated because a certain material they envisioned to play a fundamental part in the composition is not available anymore. Creed for example had to switch bergamot suppliers because the company that produced theirs could not make the required amount. The truth is that if I wanted to, I could make anything smell natural, but in my opinion that’s a little boring and stifles creativity
These threads should be called "/fag/ - shitty outdated fragrances because I'm a contrarian incel" instead.
>>18564378At first I thought you disagreed with my statement but then I realized you were only mocking my grammar. I've been picking and eating figs from the tree all summer so I got a good sense of their smell, for the record.
>>18564260drakkar smells like shit. shit taste bro lmaoo

>>18564436Nobody wears AXE anymore, grandpa.

>>18564457It's literally in the background of my previous perfume post: >>18558118Wore Tubereuse the other day, it's clean and smells like nice skin lotion.
Why is every designer "unisex" clearly feminine? Do they just want to sell female frags to homosexuals and girly men? Because back then they had actually unisex stuff like CK one but I guess that doesn't sell anymore
>>18564260>Blackar MoarBased OP
>>18564481Even the new "masculine" fragrances are clearly feminine. They label fragrances as unisex so men don't feel bad about wearing feminine fragrances. I think they should label them as what they are, I wear feminine fragrances and it's just a guide like notes, without it you just have less information about what to expect. Tastes change, the feminine fragrances from decades past are more masculine than the new releases for men.
>>18564319The oil doesn't project but is superior in quality and smells better imo
>>18564260>decide to check on my collection in storage that I haven't touched in at least 2 years>some bottles had like 5-10% less juice than what I remember like Byredo Oud Immortel>find my bottle of Millesime Imperial that an ex-gf gave me like a decade ago on its side>lost the cap years ago one drunken weekend>still has the same amount as the last time I sprayed it onAs overpriced as Creed frags are, their bottles are no joke
>>18564376Dune Pour Homme and Philosykos are better and cheaper.
I got Myslf EDP as an everyday and now money is looking tighter. It will take me a while to get through since I got 100ml but would it make sense to get the refill? I wanted to do the whole seasonal fragrances collection but I think I'll have to cope with a 'signature scent'.
>>18564382>hurr durr naturals bettur than syntheticosin other things yes but in fragrances synthetics are just as often worse substitutes (oakmoss) and just as often better (civetone) than naturalsthere are also some molecules that can only be gotten syntheticallyviolet is a good show of the first partyou can extract violet ionones from flowers and leaves but it takes loads of material, is slow and expensive and offers a low yieldbut synthetic ionones are cheaply (comparatively) and easily acquired while smelling just as good
>>18564583>while smelling just as good
>>18564535Money is short so you want to know if you should spend more money on a frivolous thing?
>>18564535Do you absolutely love the scent? The only time I'd get a refill while I'm still working on a bottle is if I know I'll still love it years down the line.

>>18564716>>18564728>>18564736Brutal coke bloat.

BDC EDP or Parum, help I'm buying in 10 minutes.
>>18564535>would it make sense to get the refill?Don't get a refill, buy a spare when you can afford it. If you don't need it you can easily sell it and if it gets reformulated you'll be better off. Don't listen to the retards, if you have a huge collection you rotate it will last forever but using the same bottle every day really puts a dent in it. You willgo nose blind to it by the way so only buy the same if you are ok with no longer smelling what you smell now. Otherwise get something to rotate.
>>18564751edt
>>18564751https://www.aromanto.com/en/how-to-choose-the-best-concentration-of-bleu-de-chanel-for-your-needs/you're welcome
>>18564753Yeah EDT smells the best imo. EDP is okay, better for colder weather. Parfum is just underwhelming and doesn't project much. This scent profile is really good when it's bright like the EDT
>>18564756>>18564762hmm I'm worried about longevity, would go for EDP but perhaps it's worth to go Parfum just for longevity?
>>18564770>just for longevityHave you actually smelled and compared them yourself? They aren't the exact same scent with different longevity even between the EDP and Parfum, if that's what you're thinking. It doesn't matter if a frag lasts 10+ hours if you don't actually like the scent.
>>18564779I only tested Parfum and I was surprised how good it smelled
>>18564382You don't want them using naturals because then you get inconsistent quality like the shit Creed puts out. There's a reason most companies use synthetics and it's not just because it's cheaper.>>18564491There's a 6 pack of the sprays on eBay, but the tariffs will really screw me as far as price goes. It's only 60 bucks plus shipping, but then it's probably gonna be another 60 at least between duties and brokerage. Still not terribly expensive, but at $140+ for 300mL I might as well look for something nicer. I am interested in the oils if I can find them locally.>>18564440Your girlfriend is too young to appreciate it, and your mom doesn't want to admit she wants to mount you. You do you king.
>>18564793So buy that then. Second-guessing yourself because you think another frag might smell better because of opinions online is a surefire way to get buyer's remorse. The BdC line isn't going anywhere anytime soon so it's just silly to be rushed into buying a bottle even if you can get them for a good deal.
I bought Sauvage Elixir today.
- They definitely target schizotypial, schizoid and narcissistic anons. Personally I'm a schizoid hikikomori. Most leaders tend to be narcissists (also known as the warrior gene) and schizotypial/schizoid thinkers have autistic thinking without the cognitive impairment and for all of human history have tended to be either dysfunctional retards or paradigm shifting thinkers and transcendent virtuoso artists and the likes. My point is, those "chuds" were the most dangerous ones to the agenda behind the janny's.- Anons the jannies did not like were deemed "schizos" to discredit them in the eyes of anons but I think a lot of people miss the big picture: Jannies were afraid and focusing their efforts heavily on severing the more creative outside-the-box thinking anons from the normiecattle. Normalizing the idea that any unusual idea or concept you haven't heard of before at face value is "schizo" before you've looked into it was a psyop in and of itself.- Ultimately they don't want you go into the real world and do something meaningful/influential. I forgot the quote and where it's from, but ever heard that one about how in the devil's perfect world man wouldn't be tortured or anything like that, rather he'd be staring at a wall watching paint dry for eternity?
>>18564828good job
>>18564828Worst Sauvage.
>>18564828Don't spray more than 2 times (at most!!!). 1 is enough tbqh.
>>18564770>I'm worried about longevityWhy do people keep saying this? BdC last until the next day on my skin, irrespective of flanker.
>>18564833Take your meds schizo.
>>18564751EDT is the best for both BDC and Sauvage.
>>18564260Why don't perfume ads look like that anymore?
>>18564851Is this overblown? A lot of fragrances people claim to be beast mode aren't to meThe only ones I tried who truly lived up to that reputation were the Crivelli extraits, but they weren't good (that's another issue)
>>18564407>grammar*spelling
Are you addicted to buying new fragrances? Are you a consoomer?
>>18564870I suspect that you're going noseblind. I smell that fuck on other people from 3 meters away with ease.
>>18564870There are rumors that Sauvage Elixir was reformulated to tone it down. The OG batches were crazy. Haven't smelled newer ones though.
>>18564893my recent bottle has nuclear performance
>>18564438You’ll need to buy some aromachemicals first
>>18564874I was for a time. Good thing I stopped buying clones like Club de Nuit early on in that phase. I probably regret buying those clones the most even if they were cheaper. Thankfully I have a buddy who was also a big impulse buyer and nowadays we just trade bottles when we get bored of them.
I overspray, i talk loud like a retard, and im over 6'8 so all eyes on me, i want maximum presence if i arrive, all senses should be occupied by me
>>18564870If it were something else, yes. But Sauvage Elixir is something you can taste if people wear more than two sprays.
>>18564869Because being sexy isn't cool anymore. It's funny, women claim to be liberated, strong, and free with sexuality but a perfume ad with female partial nudity triggers them.
>>18564869Guys have less spending money than girls nowadays.
>>18564887>>18564912I guess I go noseblind easily. With Prada l'Homme EDT it's closer to 20My nose might be dysfunctional now that I think about it
>>18564923>Guys have less spending money than girls nowadays.I seriously dislike this generation of guys.
>>18564893I think it has been reformulated too. I absolutely hated the sample I got last year it was way too loud and Christmasy, now it's a lot smoother. It's like the EDP if you turned up the spicy notes. >>18564895I'm sure it still performs well as all Sauvages do, it's just not the room clearing, disgusting level it was before.
>>18564924>I need to use at least 8 sprays of something like TF Noir Extreme Parfum to still smell it on me a couple hours later. >>18564932What else would it be?
>>18564928kek last time I wore 20 sprays of Prada l'Homme to a job interview. I got the job so I guess it didn't bother anyone. That being said, it's such an inoffensive scent that even if you fill a room with it it's probably not going to come off as unpleasant.I might be going overboard with gourmands like NEP though. Back when I had a sample of Le Male Elixir I also did around 8 to 10 sprays and went to work, girls told me I smelled goodThe only time I felt like I overdid it was when I used four or five sprays of Oud Stallion before going to the doctor's office. Even I could tell that was too much>>18564935I guess. Maybe I should stop spraying on the torso and neck.

Gentleman Reserve Privee: is it worth to purchase?A lot of women have been recommending it to me, but I don't get the smell.
SOTD Tobacco Vanille clone and losing money on stock market
>>18565236Thé Matcha is so weak guys won’t smell it at all. Replica Bubble Bath doesn’t project much either but is a very nice “girlfriend scent” at least
>>18564900Why do you regret the clones so much?
Any good recommendations for women's perfume? I need to get something for a latina for Christmas. I'll check Sephora and order from joma but if I know which ones to check beforehand it'll be quicker
>>18565344/Frag/ is full of queers and browns that love hating on everything mainstream and being massive contrarians, except of course when it comes to their favorite fragrance that makes them smell like a New Delhi cab driver. The post quality used to be good back when there were more varied posters, now we have coomer mutt trying to shit things up, and perfumeranon keeping things afloat. You’re better off going on basenotes, leddit or parfumo, all you’ll find here is vantablack coal typed by hands the same color as the sewage riddled Ganges River

>>18565406Latinas love Valentino, pick the one you hate the least.
>>18565292It's pretty standard: wrists, inner elbows, neck. I skip the neck because I'm schizo and go for the shirt. I'm double tapping my wrists and inner elbows when I'm skipping the shirt spray.
>>18565402Because when I've already smelled the originals it becomes a lot more noticeable how rough or synthetic some notes are in clones and that there's notes from the original that are "missing". It's just a matter of personal enjoyment though. If you plan on going down this rabbit hole my advice is to look for decants or samples of the originals first before getting full bottles from clone houses if your budget is tight.
I've been waiting months for cold weather and now I realize I have too many woody scents.

>>18565870yes. one of my favorite cold weather frags
Recommendations for a 30 year old white guy, receding hairline, broke, 6’3, blue eyes? Here’s what I have/tried:>Eros Flame - love this, would wear it almost exclusively but idk if it’s that versatile>Drakkar Noir - performance is bad, smells pretty good. To me it’s very piney. >Azzaro Sport EDT - I’m told this is a clone of Fierce, it’s pretty good fresh/clean scent>AdG Profumo knockoff - awful longevity, good scent, nice blend of freshness and a little sweet. >Nautica Voyage - had some a while ago, smells like cucumber water, but in a good way, kinda one-note, but it’s $15. >Stetson - oddly unisex for something named after a cowboy hat company. Cold weather only, but a nice sorta warm smell. >Jovan Musk - way less stanky than you’d think for the name. Weird combo of like, orange cream, soap, and sweat. Love it, in a weird way, but probably divisive. >Cool Water - solid hot weather vibe, edgier/retro compared to Voyage or the Azzaro>Brut - I bought a bottle of this in like 2017 as a joke, and it was so weirdly good. Grassy, creamy, sweet but also vegetative. Every bottle or related product I’ve tried since smelled nothing like it. I’ve heard the EU version is better, but that’s like $20 and that’s silly for Brut. Didn’t like Dylan Blue, smells way too much like body wash, VpH smells good, but also too boring plain lemony, kinda the voyage problem. Anyway - trying to cut down to 3-5 or fewer. I love the stuff like Jovan or Cool Water, but I don’t want to smell like somebody’s uncle. Or at least it’s gotta be a sexy uncle. Heard good things about the Le Male line, a few of the AdG flankers, Sauvage, etc. obviously will hit up the store and try samples, but I wanted to know if you all had ideas. Not gonna spend niche frag level money ever. Last Q - realistically, how hot can it get before I’ve gotta swap off Flame? It just always seems good to me, but I have a weak sense of smell
>>18565893>brokeHow about no frags? Otherwise get Montblanc explorer or explorer platinum. Super cheap on discounters and they smell good
>>18565893for what occasion or season are you looking for
>>18565831>Sauvage>current year>white10/10
>>18565469Creed Millésime Impérial for 1/10th the price
What aftershave did your grandfather use?
I decided, this is a good fragrance.Ok thats all
>>18565893The new formulation of Drakkar Noir is bad. If you can find an older bottle it's great. Also Le Male smells like somebody's uncle. It's a very powdery lavender vanilla. Unless you get one of the flankers which smell like something a teenager would wear. I'd try Cuba Gold if you think you might like Le Male.Just wear Cool Water if you like it. Or maybe try other Jovan products. If you're broke, there's no point in buying an expensive fragrance. You're never gonna want to use it because of the price and then it'll go bad.>>18565823Something a fuckboy would wear. Sauvage or Aventus. Maybe Drakkar Noir or One Man Show if you know she has daddy issues.
Which way, white man?
>>18565965
>>18565965The original Encre Noire is an interesting scent on its own but only art hoes and posers trying to pull art hoes can pull it off these days. It's such a gloomy scent that I'd start laughing at anyone wearing it in public.
>>18565340I got this because it was 15 bucks, but it is actually really good. If this scent came in a Beaufort bottle I would've believed it, it smells like what I would imagine an abandoned pirate ship would smell like.
>>18565981No you didn't, no it isn't, no you wouldn't, no it doesn't.
>>18565981Beaufort never made anything that is as good as EN
>>18565980how gloomy we talking here? i like eldo hermann for that "rainy day vibe" it gives off so would encre noire be similar?
>>18565724Don't wear that much unless you're wearing something like Lomani Pour Homme or another $10 fragrance that only lasts a couple hours and doesn't project. I put on an extra spray of Drakkar Intense on my neck the other day (skipped the wrists) and it felt like I was tasting it.I had to give myself a whore's bath and wash it off my neck.
I wouldn't be surprised if this goes for like $300/bottle in a year. Been discontinued for a while but prices are just now starting to rise. One of Annick Menardo's best and the best eucalyptus scent for men hands down.
>>18566027Sweet slop, I have a bottle and I hate it.
>>18564928Haven't used those, but I think 5 is the right call for most parfums. A spray behind each ear, or maybe the each side of your jaw, 1 between the clavicles, and 1 on each wrist is what I do. Maybe do a half spray on each wrist and then a half spray on each side of your neck. Anything more than that and you'll be tasting it.
>>18565136I wish I could like it, but that gasoline smell is nasty.
>>18566023Encre Noire is gloomy like French coldwave. It smells like damp overgrowth on a cemetery headstone.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3R2q5tIBuQ

>>18566249Exactly why they should just get a mass appeal frag and move on with their life. Tall, fit, white, handsome face = Le Male / Scandale line or something like Sauvage, BdC, Eros, SWY, etc. etc. It's such a basket weave anon move to purchase a niche fragrance that is off putting to women and ruins everything.

>>18566256With the amount of money you'll likely spend on dozens of dupes, you might as well just get the real thing and have a compact but superb collection.
>>18566262Not him, but this is how it should be. Dupes RARELY even get to the same level; and when you're buying multiple dupes, why not just save it for the legit thing? I really cannot handle influencers peddling dupes, anymore. A lot of them have broken noses and/or they get kickbacks for it.
What frags are is so obnoxiously summery you can barely get away with calling it safe for spring? Need something uplifting for 35°C days playing golf, tennis etc
>>18566268Dupes don't even smell like the real thing once you have them side-by-side. It takes years to get through a bottle of the real deal if you rotate, so dupes are nonsencial to me to begin with. Just get a more affordable designer if you don't have the money at hand, it doesn't break the bank to smell good and like people have mentioned earlier, the fragrance doesn't even matter if you're not otherwise on point.
