Chink mocassin boots have arrived. Decently comfortable out of the box and surprisingly lightweight for how heavy they look. They came with cork-foam-leather topped insole that I might swap with something else. Maybe some thin leather or foam replacement, because it feels like they takes up too much space in the boot.

Hello bootfags. I don’t know shit about boots so can one of you tell me if I can get my boots resoled and if so where? Link related. These aren’t mine but it’s the same boots. They’re the best boots I’ve ever worn but the sole is garbage. I really want to get a new sole and keep using them. https://poshmark.com/listing/Filson-Roper-Boots-M95-692c67d0f59cc474c56814a2#utm_source=gdm_unpaid

>>18651217What are you talking about? Crepe soles are just glued on to a midsole They're the easiest soles to replace
>>18651268Fyi, the rubber melts and binds onto the sanding machine and its surroundings, making a bunch of sticky dust. You can see videos where cobblers ball up the rubber dust into a ball, such as Tring Shoe Repair’s videos. If it doesn’t come off from a leather midsole or fiber midsole, it’ll be rejected unless they have a hot rubber cutting tool.

Spent weeks looking for a decent pair of boots but every company makes uninspired cack for 70 year olds
>>18652264The only companies that make nice designs have utter garbage quality.I like Grenson's designs but they're using garbage leather with fake grain prints.Soloshits gone down the sewer. At this rate I'm just going to buy a new pair of Dr Martens. I'm sick of looking for stuff.
How do I maintain my waxed flesh boots
>>18652264god forbid you wear clothes that look good and have looked good for the past two hundred years gosh I wish I was quirky enough to be so chic and interesting as anon
>>18652412You kind of just don't.

>>18652452being contrarian does not make you interesting
>>18652412I've had my waxed flesh boots for three years and other than brushing I haven't condition them once. It is my understanding that they come with so much stuff already that you don't need to condition them for a long time.
Okay booters, so honestly how do I buy for myself a good polisher? I'm looking for one for my new dark brown boots.Every shoe company seems to sell it and they look very similar, almost like they buy a known market formula and stamp their personal logo on it.The average price seems to be 7€, I'm willing to spend more to treat my precious boots better.

I don't understand the appeal, or why it's in demand, but I just found 3 new bootmakers. The most expensive from Japan (Addict Boots), the cheapest is from Mexico (Cordobes), while this is from China.
>>18652678I don't like all-black boots , but natural edges, contrast stitching and hardware does it for me. How much were they?
>>18652601Thank you anon, I found an old Kiwi's polish cream tube in my father's box, I tried it and it worked so well that my shoes look a bit "alive" persay, that tube has now finished after its use so I think I'm going to order for my boots a Saphir paris' polish cream.
I'm looking for boots that are casual but a step up from sneaker level. I really liked the look of the Redwing beckman, but they're expensive as fuck (was considering getting seconds). Any suggestions for a something else that can fit the same role?
>>18652777addict makes really good leather stuff, their jackets are considered some of the best japanese made jackets out there

Yo. I am looking for a pair of ankle boots that will serve me well for 3-season travel. This means:>flights, buses, driving>walking all day on pavement>light hiking: trails, forest floor, gravel>won't look out of place in the city, but also won't crap out on me if I need to climb over a rockOther criteria:>can be had in Europe>not bulky>can take some beating>price: up to about €400I had some very old Swedish army boots (same as pic rel) which more or less fit the score well but were a little more bulky than I'd like and had a pretty dumpy last shape, so I sold them.Options I have considered:>RW Blacksmith/Beckman - seem nice, but cost almost $500 and $600 respectively in this shithole>Moma Tronchetto Male - I like the sole (blake with commando topys), but the heel counter is suspiciously straight>Atheist Serious Boots - Seems all right if a bit more bulky than needed. More winter-appropriate than necessary.Any thoughts fellas? Something like a euro version of a RW blacksmith would do well.
>>18653333What size
>>18653333>almost $500 and $600 respectively Most RW stores in Europe ship internationally / within the EU at 100€ or 200€, check out the Amsterdam or Berlin store page. The Blacksmith is around 389
>>18653228Beckman was right on lower edge of the level of smartness I was looking for, so the blacksmiths are right under. I think a pair of chelsea's would also work for what I want but I don't know too much about boots to begin with. I just know I want something that isn't dogshit quality.
>>1865334828.5cm so anywhere from 43-45 depending on the manufacturer, but why?>>18653349I guess that's not too bad, thanks.

>>18653381Not Swedish but thanks anyway. As for Trickers in general, not a fan of the last, plus they look extremely generic to me...Looking more for the heritage thing like classic work boots and/or stuff that starts to dabble towards the rustic aesthetic meme like pic rel

>>18653333French army rangers boots. Get them surplus for 40-60 or even less and cut them above the eyelets. You'll end up with a 7" tall boot that's indestructible. One of the very few things the french did right. Make sure the brand is argueyrolles or marbot neuvic.

i'm at the point in my life where i am seriously considering moving to spokane and working at whites or nicks, or moving to new england and working at alden or rancourt or somethingi deeply regret not becoming a shoemaker when i was young. i was so pressured into going to college and getting the "real" job that now i have one of those soul sucking email and excel cubicle jobs and i hate it
>>18653790it's purely an aesthetic touch and it really elevates the boot's look. it serves no purpose but to look cool
>>18653465the niagara boots are so close to being the perfect indy clone but they just miss the mark, just barely. there's something off about them, something overbuilt.the fudging on the welt looks out of place and the SPI is too high giving it a dressy look when it clearly wants to be a "work" boot. so many of these new boot brands make this mistake: trying to be too many things at onceand that big wacky 360 degree split/storm welt just doesn't look right. it's too much welt. and the faux moc stitching on the niagara being more rounded just gives the boot too much of a soft look ultimately the niagara boot tries to be both an indy style work boot AND a dressy style boot but as a result it fails to properly be eitherthough i do acknowledge that it's the best indy alternative, if parkhurst even still makes it
i just bought a boot pattern off etsy, now I need a last. i'm going to make my own boots in 2026. that's my plan

>>18654028Shoemaker TEI from Korea is probably the one other bespoke shoemaker I watch that blows my mind the same way. Check him out too
>>18653930they don't look bad, blake stitching is the cheapest option (stitchdown or a good year welt are better) but picrel sounds alarms because this is thursday tier bullshit and bait for people who have no idea of things, that said I don't have personal experience with the brand
>>18654099Blake stitching serves a purpose, it's more flexible and breathable, perfect for summer shoes.
>>18654021>watches experienced professional do something>"Oh, that looks easy!"
why shouldn't I buy loake 1880 sedbergh boots? I like the way they look and they have a wide last
>>18654178>he likes ugly, overpriced "balmoral" boots.
>>18654181Aren't those closer to cap toe service boots? And I don't really think 450€ for made in uk goodyear welted boots is terribly overpriced. I don't think they are terribly ugly either, looks pretty balanced. I just need a versatile, sleek boot that can be used in business casual and casual settings. I already have different boots for "real" work and hiking
>>18654181>Derby boots>no center seam on the side visible at all>hurr balmoral bootsOh, my god, anon. Kill yourself.
>>18654178>loakethey have three lines of boots and you need to watch out because the cheapest one is made in india iirc
>>18654312According to their website the 1880-collection, which includes sedberghs, is made in northamptonshire
>>18654178Had those and sold them since they were to large for me. Built like tanks, not that sleek at all due to the G-last. In no way even similar to a balmoral boot, like the retard below wrote. Only gripe, beside the to large-ness, is that the commando sole is a grabble magnet and will fuck up floors and everything else without giving any extra traction. Vibram is better for that. They are made in England too, they have another similar boot made in India which is 100 euro less iirc.
>>18654339So maybe size down 1 size? And I meant side profile "sleekness", I know wide lasts can't really be made to look narrow without adding too much empty space to the front.
>>18654323yeah that'll be fine, they make good boots thereafter a quick look it's the "design collection" that's made in india
>>18654178I have a pair. The leather feels cheap and is the biggest disappointment, apparently even their 1880 uppers are sewn in India and then welted in England. The last is fine for me. It's roomy, but I'm not slipping around. They could be cheaper for what you get. I'd recommend buying Crockett and Jones or similar instead. The higher quality is worth it.
>>18654369Alternatively Yanko from Skolyx. They're about €300. Goodyear welted made in Spain.
>>18654369one alternative i've been eyeing are these sanders florence boots, same price point as loake and made in england. My only concern is they have a F-last and ship from UK, so shipping will be more expensive and returning will be more difficult than with my closest loake-retailer
>>18654369>The last is fine for me. It's roomy, but I'm not slipping around.really? the only thing i remember about loakes is how unbelievably narrow they were in the toes on their standard F width last
