So when did you realize that a 36mm Rolex is the best watch you can get?
>>18687636That watch looks so incredibly cheap.
>>18687641a vintage Santos is a good option too!
>>18687642bot post
>>18687636Those new PRX look dope!tee hee
>>18687641and realistically how likely am I to get one or have to wait for one if after something like a 36mm datejust blue dial jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel? The jubilee and fluted bezel are what make it worth buying over an aqua terra (imo)
>>18687636Why did it take JLC so long, or, rather, why did it take Richemont so long to force JLC into the integrated sports watch fad?The forced Lange of all brands into it, but only NOW does JLC jump in?Will this mean anything for JLC? What's the general reception of them?
>>18687662The common Datejust color combinations are typically in stock or require a wait of about two weeks for the next shipment from the factory. It’s only the rare colors and/or the hype models that still have waitlists.
>>18687662It's not 2022 anymore. You can get a Datejust in 2 weeks with no purchase history.
>>18687662Buy an older reference with the non-cucked movement.
>>18687636>>18687666They just took a Vacheron Constantin Overseas and CIRCUMCISED it of all its personality.
>>18687636From the OP I thought this was the "under $500" thread.
>>18687636Why is the date wheel not brown?
Of all the integrated bracelet sports watches that have been released recently, that new JLC is one of the best looking IMO. The proportions are good, it's thin, elegant and it actually looks expensive (unlike the Ingenieur). The only watch that gives me the same feeling is the Vacheron 222.What I find funny though, is how every brands are TRYING SO HARD to make a bracelet that doesn't look like an Oyster or a Nautilus bracelet (which are the most intuitive and function-driven bracelet designs). The worst example of that is the Overseas. The bracelet on that watch is grotesque and stupid.JLC did an okay-ish job but it still looks over-engineered. Very desirable watch. It will obviously become JLC's second most popular watch after the Reverso.
>>18687697>It will obviously become JLC's second most popular watch after the Reverso. You don't think it's too late? That they missed the boat?
>>18687700lolnoIntegrated bracelet sports watches are immensely popular. They're pretty much the only genre of watch that still sell in huge volumes in the luxury segment.
>>18687700While people who follow the watch industry are probably sick of yet another blue dial steel integrated sports watch, the broader watch buying public is not.I don’t think it will sell well because of its pricing, but that’s a problem specific to JLC, not to the segment.
>>18687636why would anybody buy a rolex datejust when these bad boys exist? talk about an absolute mogging.
>>18687697incredibly ugly watch. I thought people with class and sophistication were into watches?
>>18687641the french tank is the best, but the explorer 36 is a close third (the yach master 2 is the second best)
>>18687719They want a watch everyone knows that they don't have to think about choosing, it's popular so they want it, and they can get it fixed competently in any rolex service center anywhere worth living in the world. JLC has an absolute shit reputation for aftersales and will probably be more fragile overall compared with the rolex. Also nobody but online watchfags know what jlc even is.i.e. the usual reasons why people have defaulted to rolex; it's "the default" luxury watch and the dj is the default option of the defaultest default.
>>18687641If you are a Mexican or Turkish person and want to pair it with your knockoff Luis Vitton t shirt and coat it would look nice. 36 mm anything is disgusting and brown.
>>18687730>36 mm anything is disgusting and brown.
>>18687730The fuck are you talking about? Brown people love wearing dinner plates. Just check the comments of any Youtube videos about these abominations from VC and it's an endless stream of indians and mexicans/amerimutts saying dumb shit like "OLD MONEY STYLE" and "TIMELESS CLASSIC SAAR". The last people on earth who buy 36mm Rolexes are white European men.
>>18687738>The last people on earth who buy 36mm Rolexes are white European men.I literally said that in my post. Do you have reading problems?
>>18687730>is disgusting and brown. The browner, shorter and fatter the bigger the watch is what I've noticed over the past 15 years.
>>18687738That's such an ass layout for a PC. The months dial is a retarded cluttered mess that everyone should've moved past 100yrs ago. JLC's layout is much nicer.
Wine time.
>>18687636I hate the date version and the power reserve version; but for some reason I love the calendar version.Even though I never liked a four register calendar watch like this, ever.
everyone ITT should commit suicide
I have $4,000 to burn. I work next to Grand Seiko and Citizen stores. The sales guys have sold me on one of the Seiko 9F and The Citizen. Which is better?
Kofé time.
>>18687636>>18687768>Scummy wop scammers that changed their name from Meccaniche Veneziane after they scammedWhat, really? What happened there?
>>18687753I find it a bit predictable. The PR one is cool-ish, but they could have done something cooler and with a bit more flair for the top version, like a chiming alarm or a fancy chrono like Lange did... This gives slight old man vibes.
>>18687753>>18687784Also it needs just a touch more red, for Sunday or on the tip of the seconds hand.
>>18687641Why don't you own one then? Why are you using some catalog model image? >>18687639This is bullshit and there's no reselling going on, but there are a lot of really transparent shills who are always cheerleading for luxury brands they don't own. It's fucking pathetic. >>18687644Like you. What the FUCK are you doing? These entire threads are people asking questions that would easily be answered just about anywhere else on the internet, when they have no money and no intention of actually buying anything. And then they have the audacity to call people 'poor' for calling them out on it. It doesn't matter what your taste is if you're all fucking talk. Posers.
>>18687782Kickstarter. Said they'd have ETA, shipped used Selitas
>>18687789>people asking questions that would easily be answeredWelcome to 4chins

post beautiful japenese craftsmanship pleaseI love japan
Ok /wt/ so you say I go to a reputable shop and I shouldn't get ass fucked on a used watch.Better question, what style/brand watch should I get?Videos on youtube are all shit and treat it like it's some refined extremely niche thing where you need a jeweler's loop and a degree in watch history.I just want a used cool watch to daily, save a few bucks.
I'm getting interested in luxury watches but I'm antifa, how do I build a collection that's nice, respectable watches without people thinking I'm fashy or bourgeois?
>>18687636is tissot's prc100 any good? it fit me better than the quartz prx's did, but i'm not really sure about it.also, any recommendations for sub $1000 watches that are simple but sporty? i've been considering Mido's ocean star but i cant swim lmao
Can anyone identify this watch for me?
>>18687833Rolex datejust with diamond markers and bezel?
>>18687822>what style/brand watch should I get?Whatever one you like? Are you asking us to tell you what you should think looks cool and nice to wear?
>>18687792So what did they do then, just close up the firm and make another?
>>18687836Damn, I think so. If not, extremely similarThanks nigga
>>18687803Google is a search engine. There's nothing to "trust" there. I'd use a different search engine but I'd parse from its suggestions better sources to learn from. I'd certainly learn something true rather than the snobby horseshit recommendations you get here from people who don't even own the watches they endorse. Only a fucking retard would come to one of these threads for advice.
>>18687822>videos on youtube are all shitThat's the most ignorant statement I've ever seen. There are tens of thousands of watch review videos for all kinds of watches at every budget. This is not the place to ask such a vague and subjective question. Fucking idiot.
>>18687636Jlc nailed it lads
>>18687825
>>18687857and no one will buy it >_<
>>18687859I will for a discount.

>>18687889This is kind of VERY VERY GAY.
>>18687937I wish they had rotated the subdial to line up with the main dial.
>>18687954what's the thinking behind how they've done it
>>18687833i-is that a naked granny wearing the watch?
>>18687860Nice Rol... oh.
>>18687956Omg that's so hot!
>>18687954Yes. Or just get rid of the numeral markers.Stupid choice from Vacheron.
>>18687858this is a very ugly logo on my opinion. the trident idea is cool. I'd love to see more creative design on the second hand.i remember rolex selling a watch with a lightning hand. it was cool
>>18688102>ugly logoIt's the opinion of pretty much 90% of people
>>18688102Yeah not the best but I've gotten used to it
My shitter collection. In the course of my life I’ve had sex wearing all of these watches at separate times. Granted it was with the same woman, but it still counts. Fellow /fa/gs, how’s the watch collecting/sex collection coming along?
>>18688222ever lose a watch in her fat folds?
>>18688165wtf this actually looks good? bravo seiko
Kofe time.

What the fuck
>>18687974it is. sauce for watch granny?
>>18688292>>18688268ok ok yo hold up
>>18688273Apparently. That looks pretty fake to me.
I feel bad for sportswatchfags
>>18688307he posted the movement once, it's real
>>18688292YOOOOO
>>18688273Which poorfag?
>>18688292are we about to hit another golden age? Last one was late 2023
>>18688360It doesn’t look like we’ve gotten many, if any new users lately, so no, probably not.
>>18688315That’s not my favorite reference by any stretch, but I agree that dresswatchfags enjoy a degree of elegance in their lives that sportswatchfags can only hope to achieve.(You can’t be both, even if you own both. It’s based on what you wear most of the time.)
>>18688360I'm afraid the late 2023 peak will never be matched again. It was simply too epic at that time. The good news is that GS-Anon is in a better place now and has moved on from those formative times. That fact alone makes me happy for him.
>>18688315>>18688366The problem is, on the whole, sportswatch fags are invariably >fatand or>decrepit"Sports" is in the name. Show some fucking vitality ffs. A fat old boomer with an elegant dress watch looks better than some fat soi with some generic diver. >i'm james bond now because I bought a watch an actor wore in a film once no I will not work out or lose weight and will continue to dress like shit the watch will make everything look goodehSolid gold "sports" watches are a different beast; I'll accept a level of decadence that kind of thing more or less requires.
>>18688375a fat old boomer looks like shit no matter what watch he's wearing, it better be expensive so he can at least get some gold diggers if it's women he's after
>>18688375You forget about the sportswatchfags who have these twinky little girl wrists but still insist on wearing a 42mm diver on a bracelet.>it’s designed to wear big!!they complain, while insisting that they prefer titanium because steel is too heavy for their little twig arms.
Why do some people wear luxury watches when it doesn't match their vibe AT ALL?
>>18688386There are probably 5 things in this picture that don't match his "vibe" worse than the watch. If anything the rolex matches the outfit more than the outfit matches him. He looks like he stole a zoomer's clothes to sneak into a zoomer underground lair.
>>18688375>>18688380Most modern watches (sporty or dressy) are simply hideous, and watchfags have terrible taste.I've watched a few videos of Watches and Wonders 2026 novelties and it seems pic related is one of the most praised releases this year.I shit you not guys, YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY to wear one of these in public. What kind of outfit are you even supposed to wear with these? I'm wearing OCBD and denim/chinos 99% of the time I would look like a clown with one of those Vacheron on the wrist. How can watchfags make fun of Hublot and then get hard for thiese piece of shit?! lmaoAnd it's the same with modern dress watches to be honest. They all look over engineered, gimmicky, large and tacky. If watchfags started dressing like actual adults they'll realize 99% of the watches they like are unwearable.
>>18688400Watchfag wearing a printed tshirt sees a 40mm Chopard with a big ass crown and a ridiculous pattern on the dial and goes>DUUURRRRR THIS IS PEAK ELEGANCESeriously what the fuck is wrong with these people lmao
>>18688402That watch is a minute repeater though. That actually is pretty insane.
what are we wearing today boys?
>>18688400I mean, yeah, it sucks, but it’s no terminal.Rolex still makes the DJ/DD in 36mm.Cartier still makes the Tank and Santos-Dumont in the classic sizes, same with JLC and the Reverso. To that end, there are brilliant watches in traditional sizes from a few years ago that sell for peanuts simply because the fashion is for oversized (not 2000’s oversized but still oversized) sports watches. Now, you can get something a little offbeat like a 116264 Turn-o-graph for between 6 and 7k. You can wear that watch in basically any conditions. The more you wear it, the better it will look.A classic “large” size Tank Louis Cartier will be around the same price. If you prefer steel, a “grande taille” Reverso is about 5k.If you’ve got a lot to spend you can get the absolutely classic Calatrava 3919 for around 10k.Throw in a G-shock and you’ll be all set for life. Is it a huge amount of money? When you’re younger, yes, but when you’re older and more established? Not really. And because your pieces are completely timeless, they will never look like antiques, even when they’re decades old.

Not necessarily a grail for me, but I got my hands on an out-of-production dive watch I've wanted for years. They only made 100 of these in the green variant, which is the one I badly wanted. Very happy with finally having one.
I think i found my new oneitisIt would fit exactly like on this guy who's a wristlet like me, which is crazy for a Panerai.
>>18687636I see your picrel and raise you
>>18688414nice chink fakes
>>18688412Cool, enjoy wearing it.
