thanks for the bake>SOTN: Chanel BdC L'Exclusiftested it at an airport, it's incredibly mid
>>18741518as expected from modern Chanel snoozefests
>>18741520yeah, grim afalso tested Rose Incense and Royal Tobacco from Amouage, those are good
I thought buying more samples would help me decide on buying a very few bottles but I just want to buy a bottle of most of the things I sampled so far because I like almost all of them...
>>18741518I got a free sample, and yeah it's their entry into the elixir trend (just with a donutsteel designation because Chanel). Boring amber-woods all the way down.
just blind bought dior homme original. what am i in for?
>>18741552
Looking for something that smells like cocoa butter.
>>18741552The feeling of knowing you finally have found the fragrance you've been looking for.
Went back and tried it again today from the kit. This is still the sexiest thing I've ever smelled in my life. I don't know who I would prefer to wear it more, myself or my gf. She has endeavored to buy it instead of me (I bought her some frags, so she feels she owes me), but she's a brokie so it will be a while. I have no idea what these fucking Romanians put in this shit, but it should probably be illegal.
>>18741555>>18741560sounds great. i cant wait
A few threads back I mentioned my cool experience with a niche seller >>18738087 that invited me to a Masterclass. Went to the event yesterday, cool experience where the guy from Tom Ford gave some explanation as to why Soleil Neige was changing between collections and getting a new bottle for the Signature line, no changes in formulation supposedly. Also went into some other Tom Ford frags and gave some tips on layering them. All of this just for the store to sell more frags I know, but at least I got to leave with a few samples, the Tom Ford frag and two PdMs, Pegasus and Valaya Exclusif. Currently trying Soleil Neige which is nice, a soft velvety frag with citrus but very much a cozy white floral. This would be the perfect frag to sleep with or give as a gift to any woman, soapy bliss.>SOTN Soleil Neige

>>18741573>some tips on layeringThe only layering tip is to not do it.
>>18741577Excellent.
>>18741578This>>18741573But also, if you're going to do it, then use more mononote frags, or ones designed with layering in mind (like Escentric Molecules). For e.g. you could layer an ambery or very woody denser frag, with something very light and citrusy. Byz amber would probably be good for layering, but I haven't tried it.What I have tried in the past is Chanel Sycomore w/ either Dior Homme Cologne or Allure Homme Edition Blanche and it worked rather well
>>18741511>SOTD: Liam Blue ShineI’ve been browsing the boards and it looks like 4Chan is just straight up dead. Depressing. Don’t know where to hang anymore. Everything sucks.
Invite me to the frag discord
>>18741584sent :)
>>18741581I heard once that tom ford fragrances are designed for layering. Structurally a lot of them are fairly simple, a few distinct notes that don't change much for the duration of the wear. They also happen to have distinct identities and are perfectly wearable on their own.
>>18741578I don't much care for layering desu, I find it too inconsistent and don't want to risk going a full day with a weird mix on my body, but I enjoyed his explanation and it was something like what >>18741588 described, he was mixing Oud Wood with Oud Voyager, so two frags with a similar base into a new scent, but I think it was mostly seller talk. Cool frags nonetheless. Also thanks >>18741581 for the tips.
SOTD: Armani Code
>>18741475This is on my list of “I’d love to own, but I own too many bottles already.” And I’m telling myself not until I empty more bottles.
>>18741573Oh sweet, I was hoping for an update on this.Any nuggets of gold you wanna share or are you gonna gatekeep
>>18741588Oh so it’s like the Guerlain model but more questionable
>>18741605Nothing too special to gatekeep really, Soleil Neige is meant to be a colder counterpart to Soleil Blanc, both with the idea of smelling the atmosphere of sunlight interacting with the ambient but that's a bit abstract still, I just get really high quality and blended floral with green and cloth. It was a good opportunity to interact with like-minded people about frags in general, and to get some insight from a Tom Ford representative as to what the brand expects of their customers, how they communicate that, etc. The best part was drinking wine while getting to try Ombre Leather, Oud Wood and Oud Voyager with the consultant giving some insight but nothing that you couldn't do by just checking the note profile and trying by yourself. There was also Figue Erotique but the salesperson managed to drop it and break the tester before I got to try it :(
Why does Europe only have 2 stores in the OP, any others I should know about?
I just sampled Kouros for the first time since it seems hard to find in stores. Holy shit this reminds me of my Greek grandparents, I had nostalgia upon just smelling a test strip. Strong, a bit like Eau Sauvage, but brings back vivid memories of being dragged to Orthodox Church with them. A shame it seems like newer versions are not even as good as the original.
>>18741518As many of us have said in the thread since the release, but I don’t blame you, everyone’s nose is different. >>18741535And that’s why you sample things instead of blind buying fren. Keep sampling until something hits different. >>18741537>their entry into the elixir trendEhhhh, I don’t know that I agree, it’s a release because they hadn’t released a Bleu in…. seven years. Yeesh. Anyway, it’s a release for the sake of “New Product Moneygrab” but it doesn’t even remotely compete with any others elixirs. At least in that regard they weren’t lying about “We don’t follow trends”. >>18741568>RomaniansIt probably is Anon, buying or receiving stolen goods is against the law, even if you’re unaware.
Anything stronger and less fresh than BdC or Versace Pour Homme makes me feel like a brown "person" desu
>>18741630>It probably is Anon, buying or receiving stolen goods is against the law, even if you’re unaware. All I'm saying is that whatever is in here feels like it's some sorta banned Soviet era chemical they designed to increase birth rates, but then realized the food supply would never be able to support the end results.
Seeking recommendations for office-safe vetiver dominant frags
What does Azzaro Most Wanted smell like?
bought some stuff. 50ml of Ambre Sultan for like 35$, seemed like a very good dealnever tried Kouros or anything from Akro before
>>18741648most of them are office-safe, vetiver might not be a mass-pleasing note, but it also won't disgust anyone

>>18741659Kouros is more fun than Ambre Sultan. AS kinda sucks because it's too heavy for daily wear but too boring for events. Ambre Russe is much better for that.
>>18741630>As many of us have said in the thread since the release, but I don’t blame you, everyone’s nose is different.yeah duh but i could test it so i didat least it won't offend anyone>>18741648i wear Guerlain Vetiver EDT to the office>>18741634skill issue>>18741675>Kourosgoated>Ambre Russegoated

In Search of a Leather Fragrance Vol. III>Tom Ford Ombre Leather ParfumEven more diluted than the Eau de Parfum, with a classic cologne-like citrus accord. I can smell that manure note. Disappointing. What appeals to you about the Ombre Leather collection? For me, nothing.>Naomi Goodsir Corpus EquusIt smells like barbecue, like grilled meat. A bad joke. It's awful. One of the most unpleasant fragrances I've ever smelled. No... it's the most unpleasant.Next purchase: Antaeus decant.>SOTD: Chanel Platinum. One of the most exquisite openings I've encountered. A green accord that smells somewhat synthetic, like green herbal shaving foam. Unfortunately, the lavender with galbanum then takes over, and it's an overly cloying accord that overwhelms me.
>>18741675I kind of want it as a cold weather office scent
>>18741648I wear Encre Noire a l'Extreme and TdH to the office
>>18741684>Also have you tried the Akros yetno, but it seems like an interesting brand. Awake is one I want to try too, there are not that many black coffee fragrances
>>18741717>Next purchase: Antaeus decant.Hopefully this one will be good.
>>18741724>>18741717Antaeus is good. also, take the Rien pill already
>>18741726>RienI want to try that one too.
>>18741724Antaeus smells like what I would imagine Dracula to smell like
>>18741648I’ll second Guerlain Vetiver edt. It’s a classic for a reason. Plus the price ain’t too bad for the quality. Perfect everyday signature. Grey Vetiver is also pretty good and not expensive. The Le Labo vetiver is great but overpriced, worth sampling if you’re looking for a signature in that realm tho I suppose. Vetyverio sucks, not a fan of carrot seeds.
Apparently there are some clones of Kouros from back in the 90s, but strangely they're all discontinued. I looked up The Man Silver and Imperia Legacy, both released and then discontinued shortly despite allegedly being very similar to Kouros from the turn of the 90s. What's up with that?
sotd ald oud luwak 2>>18741573not a fan of TF but sounds like a fun event>>18741629>kouros to churchbefitting of the king>>18741717what kind of leather scent are you looking for?
>>18741778maybe the zeitgeist was not right in the 90s, most people (outside of gay clubs) wanted the total opposite of Kouros at that point
>>18741717sorry to hear you dont like the rest of plat ego. i think the entire fragrance owns. also your leather search will be over with antaeus
>>18741783Nah I mean fragrances that are cloning Kouros from the formulation back in the 90s, not from the 90s. It just seems like even thirdie clones of it can't exist.

Where do you guys buy dupes/clones from? Amazon seems to be the most reliable.
>>18741850ebay, but it has a lot of scammers so you have to be careful.
I wanna talk about Orto ParisiIs there a lot of variation in batch performance? I like my Megamare but it's not nearly as nuclear as people make it out to be.I've also tried Viride, which is quite nice but slightly too bitter, and Risvelium, which is not very good and has a kind of ashy backbone that I dislikeAre there any others from the lineup that are as good as Megamare and have the same year-round dumb reach potential? I've heard good things about Brutus and Bergamask.
Do all leather frags smell like you are down wind from a shoe factory
>>18741857I havent heard about batchfagging within OP. Megamare has musks that can induce anosmia so it’s probably still more nuclear than you can detect. Anyway, i have tried their entire lineup. For year round reaches I would say Brutus would be my top pick. I went noseblind to Bergamask very quickly.
>>18741850Amazon can and will fuck you, it might not happen immediately but it will happen. Assuming you’re in America JOMASHOP and FragrenceNet are worthwhile but their shipping is not as convenient or nice as Amazon.Even if you order from a legitimate supplier on Amazon there’s a chance they’ll ship from a warehouse that’s closer to you but houses the same product from a less trustworthy supplier instead of from the supplier you actually ordered from.
>>18741865I get wafts of Megamare throughout the day and it's a really nice scent but yeah maybe it's anosmia. idk though because I don't get many comments on it, while people do comment on my other fragrances (even the challenging ones)Is Brutus very old-school smelling, like classic fougeres, or is it a more modern/artsy take? I have difficulty picturing what it smells like
>>18741867I think it leans more classic, but not necessarily "old school". It's very earthy-woody, but the floral heart livens it up quite a lot. The classic quality it has makes it feel like its from a different era of history entirely rather than referring to fougeres of the past. The patchouli is very dominant.
>mogs your aquatic, tea and leather fragrances
>>18741869Not sure if I like patchouli, I enjoy tuxedo and bois imperial but disliked patchouli magnetik and the essential parfums patchouli fragI might sample it anyway. Thanks
>>18741864no
>>18741857i don't think Orto Parisi is a "dumb reach" brand. they're in my opinion strange and quite strong. other than Megamare, i really like Cuoium. it's really strong in the opening but it settles into something quite nice, but you have to enjoy smoky leather frags though. Bergamask is the more accessible and poular one, but it smells like lemon cleaner to me and just not my style
>>18741874I don't find Megamare strange, it's like an amberwoods and ambergris overdose that's a bit astringent in the opening and settles down into something fairly similar to a typical blue aquaticViride is a fairly typical green herbal though I'm not a fan of that kind of bitternessRisvelium smells to me like if Kouros had pineapple and blackcurrant >CuoiumI'd like to try the heavier ones but it's hot here for most of the year so it'd feel like a bit of a waste
Has anyone tried Coromandel? Is all the hype surrounding this perfume justified?
>>18741872Alright I’ll continue to try leather frags
>>18741878I've tried it. Like all Chanels, it's excellently made. Very balanced. It's definitely up to standard.Whether it's worth the hype is subjective. I really liked it, but not enough to spring for a full bottle. It's a cool weather, date night-type fragrance, for sure. The opening citruses are gone in an instant, which is to be expected. The patchouli is more medicinal and less earthy. The whole composition seems to me to be a juxtaposition between a sweet, creamy vanilla-chocolate and a medicinal muscle rub lotion. It sounds strange, but it works. It's kind of like a cross between Prada Amber (the women's version) and L'Instant de Guerlain pour homme eau extreme.

The real thing doesn't cost enough to be worth duping.Anything that can be faked for cheap is worth faking. The Casio F91w is a watch that costs only 20 dollars, brand new. Even it gets faked.
Indian status? Keep it or sneed it?
>>18741878It's a great frag, but I don't think it's worth its asking price.I don't find any citrus in the opening, more like a mix of light aldehydes that might give a fleeting impression of citron or lemon oil.The body is a single accord of oddly creamy patchouli and chocolatey light suede, and I'm with anon on that it's strange but it works.Should you find it too light/classy/respectful/feminine and want something more direct/intense/rich, blind buy Psychedelique without a second thought.
>>18741923is it the EDP? cause there's also an EDT which is completely differentEDP is a semi-clone of YSL Tuxedo and smells mostly like vanilla, pepper and amber with some rose
>>18741925>>18741949It's the EDP. I guess i'll ask others for opinions but I really don't see how people like this.
>>18741952seemed not challenging to me at all, maybe a little feminine
>>18741963Same. It's very straightforward. Orange into a rose-vanilla-benzoin.It's nice, though. Easy to wear. For the price, especially, it's well done. I can see why it gets hyped because it does smell more expensive than it is.
any opinions on this frag?
what would be considered a serious go to frag for a gun range bros?

i didn't like platty ego the first time i wore it a couple years ago. trying it again now and i like it a lot more, but i feel like the drydown after the initial shaving foam smell goes away becomes "sour." not sour like the bottle has gone off, sour like an herbaceous metal sort of thing.

>>18742038>deodorant...which is dove for men clean comfort>aluminum free, of courseYou don't have to wear deodorant if you wash yourself properly. If you get bad body odor, your skin is housing colonies of bacteria that eat your sweat and give off bad odors.Get rid of the bacteria, and you don't need deodorant. Your sweat will just smell like sweat, not like the back-seat of a New York City cab in August.
>>18742051NTA but, Anon, Indians don’t bath OR wear deodorant. It doesn’t matter how well he bathes, don’t suggest to anyone to be more like an Indian.
>>18742035Yeah it's nice. Basically Drakkar Noir in a suit.
>>18741934This is the most Jeet frag I’ve ever smelled. Basic masculine formulas are almost always universally pleasing, boring at worst. This one manages to smell like LA’s Totally Awesome cleaner for the first 20 minutes, followed by a hot ambroxan-like musk that you can and can’t smell at the same time, but is also giving you a headache. It serves no other purpose but to fill the airspace. With what? Your guess is as good as mine. That harsh lemon opening is up there with 90s OG Perry Ellis 360 and the reformulated Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.

>>18742249>who cares what the bottle looks likeThe bottle is part of the fragrance. Everything from the bottle to the name to the brand serves to prime you for the experience of the scent. JPG scents are gay BECAUSE the bottle is gay. Rabanne scents are tacky BECAUSE the bottles are tacky. The bottle is the flesh which is shaped by the essence of the fragrance. I presume you don't understand much about artistic essence because your argument against it involves the opinions of women at the club.

>>18742258To be fair, I think JPG's bulge-possessing bottles are somehow less gay than the average pseudo-niche "minimalist" bottles everyone cranks out nowadays in the laziest possible fashionAt least an attempt was made at something
>>18742261Part of that is economic. Most designer bottles that are custom-made and irregular are the most expensive part of the fragrance. Niche brands like say, ELDO, will take a generic bottle and use different methods to make it their own, like the corner-centered labels. I don't think that is less gay than a bottle with a bulging penis on it though. I am all for giving credit for attempts toward artistry, however the bulging penis really makes it difficult to be charitable.

>>18742261>>18742262A well-designed minimalist bottle looks great; it doesn't get any better than that. Something elegant and architectural that subtly evokes the fragrance concept ; no one does that quite like Chanel.
>>18742260>Just kidding, we love Indians here. Sotd: Jaipur Homme. No, we really don't, Vivek.
>>18742266>A well-designed minimalist bottle looks great; it doesn't get any better than thatIt does, but the problem is that, far too often, cost-cutting and laziness are conflated as "minimalist".In the case of that Antaeus bottle, there's all sorts of great details that you don't pick up on in pics. How the sides of the bottle are elegantly curved and beveled, how the cap weighs a ton, how the glass is actually a very dark purple, not black, so you can still check the liquid level.
>>18742276True. It's also uniquely designed for that one fragrance.Nowadays all these niche and private label fragrances come in identical bland bottles, a clear cost-cutting measure on fragrances that cost hundreds of dollars and already have huge mark ups.
Best bottle design coming through.
>>18742284redbased and correctpilled
>>18742278>Nowadays all these niche and private label fragrances come in identical bland bottles, a clear cost-cutting measure on fragrances that cost hundreds of dollars and already have huge mark ups. It's also a pretty cynical marketing thing.A house's private collection and custom scents always nearly come in nondescript bottles so the marketing teams can convince the buyers that an elaborate, custom bottle means "mass market slop" whereas a simple, round bottle with a simple, white, paper label is the top-level shit only for the true connoisseurs. That way you can save pennies on the bottle AND charge a higher price.
>>18742155>why is this general so obsessed about indiansIt's the new "tranny", the new "zoomer", the new "soiboi", the new "hipster", etc. It's the new word people use to insult those who they don't agree with on the internet. At least Indians are relevant to fragrance and overall follow certain trends strongest but there isn't a single fragrance you can't find Indians wear. They are mainly status chasers so no designer or mainstream niche is safe. They're also more likely to be on the hunt for the best "value" so they love clones and cheap fragrances. There are even those who are in constant search of unpopular shit looking for "gems". Nothing is safe

Not buying perfumes anymore. Homemade one with just essential oils in jojoba is just as good, and costs a fraction. Performs great, projects poorly but most perfumes go to skin fast anyway. Boring, but only because I know what's in it, and because I know it's not what I wanted to capture. Still good. Gonna start experimenting more.A bottle of boring ass TDH costs like a dozen 5ml vials of cheaper absolutes, or like three vials of seaweed or tobacco absolutes. That's not even wholesale prices.

>>18742657Good job. Most perfumes last a very long time and cost is not an issue.
>>18742682While true, and not that Anon, the general theory is that Amouage at least threatened to drag Fragrance World into a legal dispute. Think about it. They copy everyone on the planet, even Amouage, and then suddenly erase their entire Amouage clone line from the face of the earth not too long after it is released. That stinks of Amouage flexing their lawyers at FW to get them to discontinue the line immediately. The Amouage clones just copy the profile, they don't copy the profile and the bottle. That was probably where they crossed a line.
>>18742682i'm pretty sure they were retarded enough to copy the bottles as well which are probably covered by some law

>>18742688>>18742689>>18742773Bottles are not copyright unless it's a brand trademark which for perfumes they're not. This has been explained multiple times. Just because a clone brand discontinues fragrances doesn't mean they got sued or threatened for using the same bottle. That's not a thing. They could stop making the fragrance for a million different reasons, it was not because they got threatened for doing something that is legal. Go buy Barrakat, go buy TWIST Cyperus no. 60, go buy any of the countless clones that use the same bottle design. This is my last time saying it: You cannot copyright a design unless it's a brand trademark, which is very rare. Perfume bottles are not subject to copyright. No brand can be sued or threatened for selling clones even if they use the same bottle because it's perfectly legal. Scents and fragrances cannot be copyrighted either. The only thing that has a copyright on a perfume bottle is the brand name and the perfume name if it's unique and copyrighted.

If you’re working strictly with oil, it’s a different story, but start adding alcohol and you’ll quickly learn it doesn’t always work. If you want materials compatible with alcohol, that’s where the big expenditure will come. >>18742802>Maison Alhambra completely reworked the bottles they used for Tom Ford clones for absolutely no reason>They also changed the names of almost every TF clone for no reason>A brand threw away loads of brand recognition and decided to spend money on things they had already completed>for no reasonI don’t buy it. Just my opinion. The idea of Amouage NOT threatening them I buy even less, considering they’re both Middle East based. New things.First is the Une Nuit Nomade discovery kit. Came with an extra sample of Sun Bleached, a handwritten message on a postcard, and a discount code. This is strangely the heaviest kit I've ever received despite others I own with double the samples. The box is deceptively heavy. I have no idea what it's made out of, but it's a lot heavier than cardboard. The samples each have their ingredients and so forth written on the back of the box (once the sleeve is removed). I would take a picture I'd rather everything potentially not fall out.
>>18742846
>>18742847And the other item, one of my grails, De Profundis. The batch number puts it just over 4 years old.
>>18742846>>18742847i think this is slop but feel free to correct me if i'm wrong>>18742850very niceis it any good?
>>18742853Haven't sampled any of the discovery kit yet, but I like to have them, so I can't speak on it. I got a fairly good deal anyway, so even if it is bad, they certainly can't do worse than a few other kits I own. As for the de Profundis. It's insanely cold, like being in a meat locker cold. There is a combination of soil, grass, and what feels to me like something... citrus-y but it's clearly not. After it dries down, the coldness drops, it becomes a soft, smooth blend of spice, smoke, and an underlying powdery note. Initially, you'd be wear this very infrequently because it does match the whole "graveyard/funeral" vibe that people mention. After that, it's just a nice frag that you could easily wear in an office or at night without clearing everything. Simultaneously, it's certainly perfectly applicable to wear during the day. Frankly, it feels expensive, it feels like you ought to wear more than a shirt and jeans with it. Beyond that I can't tell you about the longevity yet, obviously but I can still smell it in the area I sprayed the test strip about 15 minutes ago.
>>18742640>the priceNo, it's a high quality frag with a great looking bottle but it's quite simplistic, it would be worth it if it cost half as much.>the pain of finding a bottleYou can buy them online in Europe, are you sure they're not easily available there as well?Rifaaqat is similar but it doesn't feel nearly as realistic, it's more perfumey and the notes feel more blended; I like it more than the real Babycat (I don't like the smell of leather at all), so try it out if you get the chance. There's Vanagloria as well, which is slightly more interesting but loses much of Babycat's cozy appeal.>>18742802>explained multiple timesWriting something repeatedly doesn't make it any truer or more persuasive.
>>18742805>what is this then?>euProbably a scam that doesn't hold up in court. Unless you think their old bottles have "protection" but their newly designed ones don't. That would be stupid wouldn't it?
got some more cool stuff today>1978 Eau Sauvage EDTholy man, we are getting so scammed with the current stuff. This is so much better, it feels like an EDP compared to the modern blend. The florals are more pronounced, the citrus is brighter, and the oakmoss is really mossy and rugged. I thought the current EDT is still one of the best mass-produced men's fragrances available, but the vintage really takes it to another level.>2001 Eau d'Hermes2001 obviously isn't anything too crazy as far as vintages go, but still could have some pre-regulation ingredients. Not too much to say about it other than it's great. I'd wear it on days where it's too hot to wear Antaeus but not so hot that I'd want something fresh. Has a very mid-century european estate kind of vibe. Wears mature but not old fashioned. This also happens to be my first Hermes that's not a modern mass-market release, which has made me very interested in exploring other releases from them. >please don't rotate my image
>>18742822Save the search so you can pick on up for cheap, you shouldn't pay more $250. I think it's the greatest perfume bottle ever made but while the fragrance is not bad it's the reason to buy it.
>SOTDGenuinely a beautiful fragrance. Wet, cold stone with a bit of woodiness in the opening, like patchouli/oakmoss without any of the warmth. Borderline clinically clean-smelling in a good way. Heretic has been hit-or-miss for me in the past but I'm obsessed with this. It's funny they released it for their summer line, I think it'll be absolutely killer in the fall/winter.Also the packaging is great, came with a booklet of "police records" detailing the scents in the collection.
>>18741568I just sampled it again. My decant is running dangerously low, but I finally figured out what it is. This fragrance is what you'd want the Major to smell like. Faintly metallic, but warm, not synthetic but the metal tells you something isn't real. Skin, but not vegetative musk or animalic. There's sweet sweat, it's practically too clean, an idealized approximation of what some designer thinks sweat should smell like. That's why it's so ozonic. You're smelling the sweat of some bleeding edge, perfect simulacrum of a human body, a web of ceramics, titanium, silicon knitted together to create a form that sculptures would have given their lives to shape with the skill of Pygmalion. I'm gonna goon.

Even within the same fragrance different batches can have different quality grades because the crop was not very good that year. Even synthetic molecules can vary in quality from year to year. The goal of these huge fragrance producers is to provide the same quality and consistency but they are not magicians.tldr: high quality ingredients are a pointless discussion, if you're not shopping for raw ingredients just focus on if the perfume smells good and if you like it
>>18743515>suspiciously identical numbersGet out of my walls!!
>>18742944It’s here. At least everything looks legit and I didn’t get a fake, so that’s cool. It’s funny, there’s a little product list included inside the box for all the Fahrenheit fragranced grooming products they made, they put this shit in EVERYTHING. As for the frag itself, only tested it for a few hours with modern on my left arm and vintage on my right - honestly, smelling a vintage batch makes me think they must have done a pretty good job reworking it in recent years. I have a batch from 2023 and it does a pretty good job retaining the ‘barrel note’ scent and the longevity seems the same so far. Not too sweet/vanillic as is claimed of the 2010 batches. What I do vaguely think is that the vintage projected a little more on initial application, and may be slightly more nuanced, like I occasionally get some florals from the vintage I didn’t notice in the modern. Could all be completely random happenstance. >We’ll see if it flips my shit
>Linalool.......Ambrofix......mmm.....rare Akigalawood
be honest with me bros why should i NOT spend 400 dollars on DVN's Rock the Myrrh? I've never smelled anything I liked as much as it, it has incredible staying power to where people notice it on me hours later (have a small travel sampler im almost out of) and friends have said that it suits me really well.. seems ridiculously expensive but i could see this being my daily go-to for a long time.
>>18743166My friend bought Black Afghano and I asked if he is wearing proraso wood & spice when I smelled the drydown and he was indignant.>>18743186We seem to have a similar taste, how's Neroli intense?
>>18743617>how's Neroli intenseIt's pleasant and does exactly what it's supposed to, which is to be a longer lasting 4711 alternative/ Neroli Portofino clone. Mostly smells like clean white florals after the citrusy opening, it's simple but pleasant. Performance is decent for this profileConsidering it costs 10$, can't complain
My fellow saars.I have received the holy grail.
