There are a few guys doing it in my gym. Their abs are defined and thick but also very wide. And therefore they look very unesthetic. They do it from the standing position to nearly parallel to the floor, not from the kneeling position like in the pic though.So I guess this exercise works both the abs and the oblique muscles.
