With enough money you can get off a lot of serious charges by bribing the cops before anything happens.
He was arrested but no charges laid.
I spent a weekend locked up in a Thai prison and when the tourist police arrived on Monday he mocked me for not bribing my way out of it.
I blew 0.2 BAC while this American guy there with me blew 0.1, we both went to court a few days, he was dressed like a tourist slob, I wore nice clothes, he got a 15k baht fine, I got a 5k fine lol.
Then the cops tried to extract more out of me for my passport back.
Cute girl I picked up at the bar was following me on her bike and didn't get locked up at all despite blowing over, she went out the back with the head cop and never faced any charges. Got cucked badly there to add insult to injury.
I would not recommend getting locked up in SEA, there was maybe 20 of us in a tiny cell, nothing to sleep on but concrete. Toilet was in full view so guys would be grunting out a shit only metres away from you. One guy would stare at everyone while snapping off a turd, it was very unnerving.
