I want to lift heavy but literally every e-lifter older than like 35 i follow has either fucked knees, hips or shoulders. every single one. it can't be a coincidence right?pic unrel
No, it's not coincidence. Think just for one second. Did we really evolve to lift anything three or even two times our weight? The answer is no.
>>74230203Pic is absolutely rel. If you want to lift heavy and minimize the chance of injury, then you must slowly build up to lifting heavy with the mindset of the pic. Don't jump to a weight you can't actually lift and use shitty form and hurt yourself. I say minimize the risk because the risk of injury will always be there, but that risk is an acceptable facet of any physical activity.
There are two issues with lifting heavy:-our body has a lot of extra durability, but is not designed for consistent extreme loads-poweshitter often neglect a proper form to lift more. Almost all of them. And the ones that don't, don't have any exceptional strength.
>>74230203Just don't ego lift. Simple as.
>>74230225>>74230683Basically this, I just up my weights 5 lbs every time I comfortably work my way from 3x6 to 3x10
>>74230203Don't ego lift, go full ROM and build up slowly, and don't neglect isolating the smaller "stabilizer" muscles
>>74230203Because they don't look after their joints. Do yoga people. It's essential for good mobility and joint health in later life
>>74230203I appreciate netero. But I will be honest and say that I can't comprehend what he thinks or feels in the day to day life.
Honestly, injuries are a hard fact for pretty much any athlete, any sport. The older you get the higher the chances. Think that athletes that make millions out of it sometimes get injured in oblivion and their career ends early and forever in just a simple ACK moment. Why do you think you'd be any better than pros who have better resources? My point isn't you shouldn't work out, rather than accept that as part or your endeavor. Just watch out for any heavy injury, especially those involving possibly the spine, back, cervix etc since they're fucked up injuries desu and in general tread carefully
>>74230747Because I'm better.

>>74230986The vagina attaches directly to the spine.
>>74230986The place where the head is attached to the spineDidn't Google this, hope I was right
>>74230716Yoga has the same injury rate as cobtact sports, which is higher than for lifting.Yoga is a dumb shit middle aged women do.
I cant tell because I started at 34, now I am 366'2 220lbthe only thing that is being bad is now my curls are at 88lbs for 10 reps and the tendons of my arms hurt if I keep doing the set of 3 series day after dayI need to skip arm days to let it recoverIt is hurting way less than when it started hurtingalso, this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWprPrZXOis
>>74231870That's because middle aged women with zero balance decide to try standing on one leg while the other is behind their neck. Start with a gentle beginner routine and build up from there. Mosttop level athletes also do a one form of yoga or another to prolong their careers
