I prefer a brisk walk
>>
Yes. Basically everyday apart from rest day. After lifting I do 3km/180 spm or 2 km/190 spm. On Sunday I do 5 km/170 spm. I used to run only, but reduced the frequency to 1 day per week when I started lifting. This was detrimental for my overall performance, so I started these short runs basically everyday. These short runs greatly improved my running performance in no time and my resting heart rate. I don't remember my running performance to be better than now, and I just turned 40.

No. Walks only, better for joint health. But I can run as far as I need to if necessary, it’s mostly mental anyway

Is this AI? I can’t tell

I do both. I run 10-15 minutes out then walk back twice a day. Only way I can get 500-600 kcal out with around 10k steps and not have to walk 2 hours.

Yes. Weightlifting helps with the stress carried in the muscles and running helps with clearing the mind. No music, no phone just trails.

Why are you running such short distances?

Because it keeps my heart on good shape, it is time efficient and I noticed that has beneficial effect on my longer runs. I would say that I'm basically stronger, my stamina has improved a lot. But the most important factor is the tempo/ cadence. You should practice these short runs with a specific tempo, i.e. 180 and higher. The shorter the distance, the higher the tempo, by I wouldn't go go for less than 2 km. You can run 1 km/ 200 spm, but you should return with a moderate spm (170-180). It took me 2 weeks to notice improve and I continue this routine since then.
