What exercise mimics the rope pull? My gym doesn't have enough room for a real one

That's a hard one. Some kind of barbell row maybe, like Pendlay rows?

Massa Shaw, please Sir, I beg of you. We are running out of workers and the harvest is just one week away.

cable rows

It honestly depends because you shod use a different technique depending on if it's a heavy pull, or if the weight will have momentum. With a heavy arm over arm or anything that stops dead (like a sled on turf) you're better taking as long a grip on the rope as possible and doing a stiff leg deadlift movement, almost slamming your back onto the ground.
With a lighter implement you can take a shorter grip and go quicker with more arm involvement like a rowing motion.
If you can build momentum use a longer grip at the start to break the inertia and then go quicker/shorter pulls to maintain speed.

Do heavy seated cable rows with the rope attachment and rowing machine for conditioning

if your gym has a sled, you can tie a rope to it and pull it just like that.
