How do I know if I'm actually on a calorie deficit? I feel like I'm not.

Easy, there is this thing called neat, Non-exercise activity thermogenesis this is the first thing you body shots down in a caloric deficit. It means that you won't be the first one to answer the door or you won't stand up as much as you used to, etc, basically you will be much lazier, and it's not intentional, your brain does it unconsciously.

TDEE is a lie you only actually need like 1000 cals a day unless you body is shit because of poor gut and cell health, try eating just 500 cals.

That's what I've been thinking too. I eat about 2000 calories and do 30 of cardio 5 times a week and haven't lost any weight.

Just estimate your calorie burn everyday and eat no more than half that

When you go to bed are you slightly hungry? No? Then cut more calories.
