It has its place, but 99.9% of lifters don't need it. What the vast majority needs to know:
>go hard
>progression overload
>hit all muscles at least twice a week
>48-72h of rest before hitting the same muscle again
>focus on compounds, add isolation as icing on the cake

As for exercise selection: just pick the exercises you like and can keep doing for years.

it's the same thing with physics when you have a teacher with that swinging ball, oh wow it didn't hit your face, when axe kicking the teacher is equally equivalent showcase of physics

if you lift weights and gain muscle, you are doing le hecking "science" based lifting, taking steroids is also science based
