I’ve been having a protein bar for breakfast and lunch each day with a real meal for dinner because I’m lazy and done like cooking. Is this healthy or are protein bars poor replacements for properly healthy meals?

Bump for interest. What protein bars btw?

Metrx bars

Most protein bars are just glorified candy bars. Overall this wouldn’t be ideal for long term. If you’re in a bind and it aligns with your daily macros, I think it’s fine to do this occasionally.

>17% of daily intake according to RDA
This nutrition label is trying to tell us 280g of carbs is the normal dietary intake of carbs????? Am I reading this correctly or am i retarded here?
>>
>>74768514
thats 1.120 calories, fill up the rest with protein and fat
sounds about right
>>
>>74768539
I dunno, 280g of carbs seems like a lot. I mean 1 serving of oatmeal is like 25g of carbs...
>>
>>74767907
Everyones saying these are women's protein bars but no woman is touching a protein bar over 400 cal with these kinds of macros.
If you're trying to build muscle, you need to learn how to cook, or at bare minimum, figure out some quick meals.
Protein bars for most of your meals is anorexic behavior.

I typically don't even look at nutrition facts, only the ingredients.
>>
>>74768514
For a 2000 kcal daily diet, yes. If your daily diet is not 2000 kcal, then you would have to scale these recommendations accordingly.

I have a 2200kcal diet. I keep my carb intake below 120g. I could easily do 280g of it but that would mean I eat more junk food. I seriously don't understand this

What veggies would you suggest? I love onions so thats an easy add. Any specific tortilla?
I already buy a 5 pack of frozen tilapia fillets which is like $10 and pan sear those. Im eating a ton of fish currenly since tilapia is braindead easy and i also eat sardines whenever i make rice. I take protein power to help me skip lunch since im also trying to lose weight. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

For me, red peppers and onions go great together. If you wanna stuff some chicken breast in a pita, you can add tomatoes and cucumbers and maybe some hummus for a Greek style type thing, also a good option. I'm very fond if green beans, zucchini, olives and carrots. If you make eggs in any way, scrambled or an omelette or fried, you can't go wrong with some onions and mushrooms.
>>
>>74769396
Okay thanks, ill add this to my shopping list for when i go. Ive never cooked chicken, for some reason it scares me more than fish. Ill cook both sides of a filet for 5 minutes and its done. Is chicken breast the same way? Defrosting i assume is a longer process for chicken. Wish fish you can just cook it even if it isnt fully defrosted
>>
>>74769415
Hey no problem man. Chicken breast is super easy, if you are going to just fry it in a pan which takes like 5 minutes, I'd choose the flat filets, they cook much faster and are lower in fat and high in protein. I guess its the same as fish in that regard, ive never pan fried semi-frozen chicken so I can't speak to that but I imagine you could just cook it for a bit longer. Good luck man!
