Works but takes a long ass time. I literally saw better results bulking while skinnyfat then going on a deficit. Changed my physique in a year and a half. It will also keep you motivated because you will see numbers go up in the lifts for a good while.

Recomping, which I did 3 years ago when I first went to the gym, was going so slow that I literally gave up. Also it leaves you without energy to hit the gym and build dem muscles if ya know what I mean you nigger.

Recomping is easy when obese because you're losing a lot of fat while gaining a little bit of muscle, of course. When you're skinnyfat, you should just bulk then cut, not the other way around.

If you bulk whilst hitting the gym while you're skinny fat , you're not going to get obese. you'll build muscle. If you just cut to 10% you're gonna look like an untrained skellington, way worse than where you started from.

In the end, though, both ways (bulking then cutting or cutting then bulking) will lead to the same goal, if OP doesn't fuck up. I just believe that bulking first gets you more confidence and motivates you to keep on going.
