why does upper require so much more volume than lower? my quads and hams grow well on 6 sets a week, but for chest and lats I need at least 12 to see any growth.

awful form on those cleans
>>
>>74992306
Because if you're doing it right you're lifting so much weight with your lower body that you don't need as much volume to grow
>>
>>74992329
Yes but it's not a smart way to give in to every little pressure your monkey brain fabricates.
>>
>>74992599
Then why are some people completely the opposite?
>>
>>74992306
"bigger" movements = more tut, so each rep is more volume
>>
>>74992306
dont let anybody tell you you're doing this wrong babyboy. This is true for me too.
Since I started doing hypertrophy pushing and pulling my gains exploded, not only in size but strength.
My theory is that it's very easy for upper body muscles to recover. In my case, my arms burn when I'm doing sets of 12 and above with a slow tempo. My chest and back only started burning, and very slightly, as I got bigger
>>
>>74992306
Legs are limbs. Back and chest are torso and require using your limbs. Arms are stealing some of the gains. Chop them off.
>>

>>74993439
It’s because legs are just big arms that recover slower, while “upper” includes the arms, traps, lats, spinal muscles, chest, and neck.

There’s literally just more muscles in the upper body. (Plus arms recover faster than legs). If you look at your body, hams are leg biceps, quads are tris, glutes are delts, and calves/tibia are forearms.
>>
>>74992306
longer ROM and more time under tension. your muscles don't exactly recongnize individual reps.
>>
>>74992306
Leg training is easy to progressively overload + a heavy set of squats will give you doms for 4 days but I can barely ever get my arms sore for more than 24 hours.

Arm training stagnates easier and requires more volume to grow. Also might be because upper body muscle groups are smaller and maybe it's easier for them to recover quicker.

The upper body doesn’t require more volume

Your upper body lifts are just weak compared to your lower body lifts

So many of you faggots have 3-4-5 plate squat/deadlifts but can barely bench 1.5 plate and 99% of you can’t even OHP 0.5 plate and 99% of you can’t even do bodyweight pull-ups

Get your bench press to 2.5+ plate, get your overhead press to 1+ plate, get pull-ups to where you can do them with a 45lb plate attached to you on a belt… you will find you suddenly can do very low volume on those lifts and be big
>>
>>74994827
If you can be ch 2.5 pl8 your OHP should probably be around 1.5 pl8. You still need to isolate arms if you want them to grow, you're going to end up with spider physique if you don't curl + have a tricep extension exercise for the short and long head.
>>
>>74995026
Isolations are heavily overrated

You learn this when you get stronger and bigger, that isolations don’t really count for much

Not saying they don’t work, but if you do enough pressing and pulling in the week your arms will be huge by default

Yes it’s easiest for dyels to isolate and grow body parts buts that’s because dyels are weak and isolations are easy to do, but these people you will find spend far more time fucking around in the gym

My overhead pressing is so heavy that any sort of tricep isolations for the long head feel pointless, my long heads of the triceps already gets a gigantic pump when I OHP because I am actually pressing properly and have progressed tremendously on it
>>
>>74995084
This advice doesn't work for everyone. I had a 2pl8 pullup / dip and a 2.5 pl8 bench and mostly my chest and back grew. Close grip bench + push downs and french press have been growing my triceps and curls + rope climbing have worked my biceps more.
>>
>>74992306
the exercises that most people do for upper body are just inefficient
>>
>>74992316
U need to get ur test checked, BUD
>>
>>74995105
I’m not saying you’re lying, but I’m saying you’re probably just bad at performing the lifts. As in, you probably learn to brute force those compounds using all kinds of cues and techniques to move the weight

I do all my compounds like a bodybuilder does their isolations. I get a huge pump in my arms and back doing weighted chin-ups, I get a huge pump in my triceps doing presses aswell when I do chest presses or shoulder presses.

I get what you’re saying, but what I am saying is you can perform those lifts to the degree where you’re actually building the arms at the same time.

I’m saying this as someone who actually did used to isolate arms and side deltoids all the time, but I gradually over time ceased doing that stuff as realized i was simply gaining better development in my arms by just getting better at all the compound lifts i do and it reached a point where the isolations just impacted recovery and reduced my arms size

clear projection out of nowhere. it's a nature's way to prevent men from wasting their reproductive efforts. you're probably some troon who fixates on not having an uterus himself, because no normal man is attracted to smelly baloons

yeah, I just said that and it's understandable, this is were you are, after all
