Is there a scientific basis for using preworkout or is it just snake oil BS?
>>75121773Big energy and pump
>>75121773If you have an otherwise balanced diet and aren't sleepy then there's really no point. With the little to no measurable gains in peak strength observed by multiple studies over the past decade, it's pretty conclusive that preworkout is just placebo effect + marketing scams. In fact, plenty of D1 and professional sports nutrition programs strongly recommend against taking preworkout, energy drinks, etc. before games because their only measurable effect is that they just make you dehydrated and cramp up faster
>>75121773Definitely feel more focused. Caffeine in particular before a workout is quite beneficial for me. Caffeine before anything really is.
>>75122078caffeine is a literal stimulant and has been shown to increase maximal effort. preworkout is unnecessary, but if you can afford it preworkout is a fun way to get some caffeine. imo it tastes better than coffee>>75122017many preworkouts will have additives for focus and pump. it seems that the ones that have actual clinical dosing are very expensive though, like more than a dollar per serving. I just get one that I think tastes good and has 200mg caffeine. I'm a sucker for blue raspberry/blue slushie flavorsfucking faggot ass impossible captchas
