Hey /fit/ retard question incoming. What's the science behind high rep/low weight in terms of general health. If you were say, bench 200lbs for 5x10 compared to 100lbs 10x10? I'm sure there's going to be a massive hypertrophy difference; but what other differences come from that?
>>75126604200lbs for 5x10 compared to 100lbs 10x10Whether you mean 5 sets 10 reps or 10 sets 5 reps, those aren't really equivalents. If you can do 5 reps of 200 you could do like 50 reps of 100.>What's the science behind high rep/low weight in terms of general health.Everything that isn't 1 rep has an endurance component and that goes up with more reps. Getting good at 15 reps will make you better at doing 15 reps than getting good at 1 rep will. That tends to help with day to day activities. It will also make you bigger than doing 1 rep will, as your muscles store more energy.
