Let's say I get a gym membership tomorrow with the full intent on going there and continuing to work out for the rest of the year.
What workout should I do on my first day there, and what should I keep doing?
I'm asking because I've never been in a gym before, have no idea what to use what for and I'm too much of a sperg to ask anyone for advice irl.
I also don't want to look too much out of place, despite being a lanky spooky skelly.

That's what the staff is for, and if it's too much for you to manage that you have something that needs fixing before your physique.

I plan on going to my uni gym, since it's the cheapest and also closest.
I doubt the "staff" there is going to be of much help.

go to every machine and do 10-20 light reps. feel which muscles fill with blood when you do it

uni gyms will do inductions if you ask. also nobody is watching you. it doesn't matter if you're out of place. nobody cares.
