>actual function
Function is use specific. A "gym-rat" physiwue is more functional to look good then strongman physique. A lean "otter mode" physique would be more functional for running/acrobatics.
If OP has the need to shill for this, he is a strenght coper.

This image never fails to make my fucking blood boil every time I have the displeasure of gazing at it when scrolling the fucking landfill that is Facebook once in a blue moon.
You can just tell that it was made by some fat fuck that got mogged in Venice beach and had to explain to his friends that it was him and his gargantuan gut that is actually strong and not the bodybuilder who can bench press thrice his bodyweight at 15% body fat.
>for the sake of show, not real power
>body of a guy who fights BEARS on a MOUNTAIN (yet can't climb a flight of stairs without gasping for air)
>classic gymrat look
>got this body from a hard life, not the gym
Jupiter's cock, these pseuds are fucking insufferable with their "muh functional training, muh natural look", raving about "show muscles" when such a thing doesn't even fucking exist. There are a dozen points to be made about bodybuilders, tanned like burnt chickens and doped on enough diuretics to drain the fucking Pacific Ocean but this shit just screams military grade coping. Cherry on top? You always see dyels and fats repeating these tired points, actual lifters barely give a shit because they know how muscles, skeletal structures and insertions work.
>lmao u mad
Yes I am fucking mad, in fact I'm fuming

This is for comic book writers and artists and shit. If someone wrote a story about a dude secluded in the mountains who isn't a bodybuilder, him being built like the first guy wouldn't be good writing. It would bring people out of the story because they instinctually know it doesn't make sense.
This is just a guide for character design to make your characters convey what you want them to.

Why post it on /fit/?

The picture fails to take into account people with an impressive bodybuilder style physique are also very strong. You don't get big just benching 20s.
>>75143430
As drawing advice it's acceptable

False dichotomy. I don't want to ever be as sliced and diced as some competition faggot, but I also don't want to be a fat powershitter. Most people will never fall into either extreme.

U stupid retards, powerlifters look more like fatasses than bodybuilders.

Has OP ever even seen any of those people?
>>
top tier bodybuilders are often ridiculously strong but the guide is right they're at their weakest on stage. anyone getting mad at the OP has autism
>>
>>75143430
even as drawing advice this is kinda retarded, people perceive muscles as strength, normal people at least, the only people who give a shit are autistic, because drawings dont need to be realistic

Wow running away like a bitch, what great function! Better than being able to lift things and defending yourself!

Narrow hips=better at running. No human can be strong enough to fight a lion or tiger, so all strength development in humans is for intraspecific combat or unnaturally hard labour. So that build is better for fighting and goy work like farming, but is infinitely worse for hunting, running, and all other hunter-gatherer activities.

It's a guide to drawing comic book characters, anon. Yeah, there's some personal opinion in there making it sound almost like bodybuilders aren't repping your deadlift on the incline bench even at 5% body fat, but the general gist isn't wrong.
Bottom line. You can't imagine a bodybuilder crying about an internet artists opinion of them so why would you?
