I like hammer curl a lot but I don't think it matter a great deal unless you're curling more than 60% your bodyweight.

then u end up doing fuckall with ur retardo curls, curling in internal shoulder rotation is only for brachialis and only up to 90 degs in elbow and only in full forearm pronation - as if your arm was on a sling, u are doing it right if u don't feel your elbow at all, that's good we want to isolate brachialis from biceps

biceps is not accesible with regular curls
each head should be worked in completely different positioning

for long head u need full external shoulder rotation and 90 degrees of adduction - bend torso to the side and lay-up it in full external shoulder rotation with loose shoulder and elbow traveling back and forth

for short head u need supination against resistance and no force on elbow because u will fuck up long biceps tendon otherwise, tie belt on small plate and wrap it around palm so that it tries to pronate it by unwinding, support your forearm with 90 deg bend in elbow and supinate your forearm against this resistance provided by unwinding belt

regular curls do not "do biceps", they fuck it up, muscle fibers aren't straight between origin and attachment, it's messy sputtering contraction jumping from brachialis to biceps and to shoulder that will yeild shit results and u will have tender elbow tendon to boot
