Sorry for the long post but I must give context.

I am 24 years old, 187cms 6'2 and since the age of 17 or so my weight hadn't moved from the 69-73kg range (152- 160lbs). I've always been the active athletic type that struggled to gain weight I guess because of my eating habits. But I didn't try really hard either because I've always liked my body very much. This situation of stability has recently changed tho.

Recently I have made some lifestyle changes. I started an internship at a software firm and work there 9-2. My colleagues have the habit of going to have toast and coffee for breakfast everyday, and I have picked up the habit just to have a break from work even tho I ususally don't have a big breakfast. Work also drains a lot of energy and free time from me.

I'm also in a volleyball team, in which I train 5 hours a week, and also do weight training 2 times a week.

The rest of the time I use on completing my studies and hobbies.

It has been 1 month since I joined the internship. Half into that month I noticed that my lifts started improving beyond my usual plateaus, and... also my weight. A week ago I hit 75kgs (165lbs), my personal ideal weight for athletic performance. I was joyous but also a bit shocked that my 6 year long stability had been broken. People have been noticing this. They say my arms are more muscular. And I was happy.

Today, just one week later, I just weighed myself at 78.2kg. In one week I have gone up basically my whole range for my 6 years of college lifestyle. I was in utter shock.

I feel scared for the projection. I don't wanna hit 80kgs. Beyond that point, everything from injury rate in sports to life expectancy gets shittier.

Through these years I have:
- Lived abroad for a year and cooked what I wanted
- Smoked weed consistently for some time, severly altering my apetite
- gone through the pandemic
But NEVER I went a pound over my range. What's going on anons? Have I lost the superpower of youth?

>I don't wanna hit 80kgs.
Why? You're 6'2, you can easily be that weight while being lean and muscular.

I jump a lot in my sport. I have also some pride on my explosive force and high vert. I don't want to pull a Zion Williamson...

>Smoked weed consistently for some time, severly altering my apetite
Sounds like you're just eating too much.

This smoking weed thing stopped more than a year ago. I've been completely sober of any substance including alcohol for half a year now. And only drink water and milk.
I think its defo my apetite, but the weed is too far away in time to be the cause.

track every calorie you eat and burn for the next week or two and adjust your diet accordingly
