Will he make a dent in the obesity rate?
>>
>>75467734
He'll make an entire generation even more unhealthy.
>>
By killing you
>>
>>75467734
He'll probably ban Ozempic and add apple cider vinegar to the water or something.

Fpbp. The r*ghtoids will die in droves. His plan all along.
>>
>>75467750
I actually just looked up his official stance on Ozempic. Ldr, doesn’t target the cause of the problem, really doesn’t want to put it on Medicare/medicaid
>>
Ozempic is already solving the problem regardles of what this schizo does. Obesity rates will continue to fall over the next four years, so if he lasts the distance he'll get to claim it as an achievement.
>>
>>75468069
go back to unz, analtoly.
>>
>>75467734
Yeah. Between his changes and ozempic being popular, the obesity rate is gonna plummet
>>

You lost. Get over it, weak faggot.

yup. the same one he has in his head

We can eliminate obesity, it just requires several human rights violations such as denying overweight people access to certain public spaces, increasing the price of their food and clothes (only applied to them), make public pressure and humiliation legal.
If they don't comply then send them to fat camp.
>>
If you are above 25 bmi unless you are in something that requires you to be higher like a offensive lineman or sumo wrestler you are barred from getting a job and for women idk 21 bmi
>>
>>75467734
pfffft, lol. no. He's working with the federal government and has been for decades. He's part of a generations long political dynasty and comes from old money. At most he'll curve the obesity rating by making it to where more Class-A drugs like Ozempic and other similar style "Weightloss Drugs" appear on the market
But that's not really curbing the obesity rate, it's more like allowing for a new market to squeeze more money from the American people. Make the people fat and unhealthy, and then once they want to be not fat and unhealthy you sell then an incredibly expensive drug that makes them less fat and unhealthy. Make them pay for the *Privilege* to not be fat and obese. It's just what the current medical system is designed to do. But only now it will be much more efficient and much more profitable for the big pharmaceutical companies.
He's a government official. of course he would actually do his fucking job. Never trust a government official to do their actual job, even if they can. The government is inherently in on the deal to make as much money on the modern American Populus as the rest of them are. Even if he can do so, do you really think that he would even try at his best and succeed in improving the American populations health?

He's a tort lawyer. They are the kind that get crackpot lawsuits against pharma manufacturers and medical device companies tossed out pre-trial on Daubert motions for fake science all the time. Look up the history of people trying to sue Medtronic for example, all sorts of quackpot crack medical experts for the Plaintiff's bar getting shut out of court.

The status quo is that the corn syrup you hate so much is used because american farmers get subsized up their ass.
Now they COULD actually get rid of corn syrup being everywhere AND save tax payers money. That would actually be positive AND they would actually keep their promises. But ofc they won't do that because they aren't going to cut any money given to farmers no matter how unnecessary it is.
So the status quo aint changing either way. To be fair, the democrats wouldn't have done anything about this either, for the same reason.

4 years aint a lot of time to make a whole country less fat. I feel like if he were to make a significant impact in that amount of time, you're going to see a lot of annoyed overweight people from either side from whatever restrictions/changes get imposed.
>>
Realistically, no. probably not.

Every idea I've heard from him is like the most lukewarm suggestions for regulating the food and agricultural industries. Once Repubs start getting angry letters from the fuckin Kellog's CEO he's gonna get kneecapped, tossed out, or just made into another talking head. His regulations might make it so there are healthier food options available, but just because so many of those have higher labor costs, it will only exacerbate the already entrenched health inequality where middle-class and well-off folks (who try) can lead moderately healthy lives but anyone outside of that is conditioned into eating like shit out of basic necessity. But, hey maybe red dye 42 of whatever will get banned.

I think more readily accessible Ozempic will help, so maybe I'm wrong and it'll get slightly healthier with him in office. But, I think the things that make us and other developed countries exceptionally unhealthy is so baked in at this point that I have little faith he can move the needle.

The real issue with our food system has much more to do with it being more efficient to make unhealthy, cheaply made shit for the masses. None of his ideas touch the profit motive that keeps the wheel of shit and obesity turning.

There are ideas that emerge from the far left and far right for changing the food system and they inevitably fail in the enaction stage because the processes that determine how food gets from the fields to grocery stores to your home doesn't give a fuck about 'ideas.' Lefties want there to be less factory farming, so they pressure Dems to pass a bill or two banning certain slaughterhouse practices and resolve to eat farm to table or vegan in their own lives. But, only the wealthy really have the resources to eat like that regularly. And the bill banning certain unethical animal slaughter practices ends up getting totally neutered and companies just find a way around it.

Four years is an awfully short amount of time.

>The real issue with our food system has much more to do with it being more efficient to make unhealthy, cheaply made shit for the masses.
Not even. It isn't even more efficient, at least in the aggregate. The worst poisons in the US food supply are all either (1) Used to convince the consumer to buy one company's product over another, like dyes (race to the bottom ensues), or (2) Only "efficient" for the producers because the ingredients are subsidized, socializing the cost of production (corn syrup, basedbean oil, etc. - the crops are so subsidized that their market price would result in a *steep loss* for the farmers if the government didn't cut a check).

Some competitive practices that prey on the asymmetry of information between industry and consumer simply need to be banned. Others really are the product of corruption entrenching industrial-scale stupidity, not some natural state of the market.

>we have to subsidize fatties retarded crash diets now
Would rather fund RWDS rehabilitation camps then pay fat fucks to cripple themselves intermittently/permanently with pharma slop
>tfw can’t do that though, pharma fags need their cut of meat and all the right wing self improvement orgs need to be dismantled and chased out of the country, surely that will lower the nations obesity rate.
>>
>>75471432
or workarounds to side step the issue altogether - I remember when the restriction for gas mileage to the size of the car came in, it pretty much eliminated small size pickup trucks because manufacturers just made their body size the same as the bigger trucks.

When you see an arrow as part of a scientific graph, you can't take it seriously. What is the purpose of the arrow? We can already see direction of the line, what's the deal with the arrow?

The harder they shill ozempic the more I'm beginning to think it's either complete bullshit and placebo (so people will start losing weight because they'll think they want to) or it just helps in a small way.

I saw in another thread people saying why doesn't Musk just take ozempic if he doesn't want to be fat, how stupid can you get. People thinking obesity's "cured" now, if that were to happen do you really think Ozempic wouldn't be literally everywhere? There's be political discussion in every country about it, governments would encourage it and give it away for free with the projection that it would hugely reduce long-term health costs. What we do have is heavy, heavy marketing and maybe a tiny actual effect - keeping in mind amphetamines cause the same effect but have terrible side effects. Nothing like that will ever come out or work like that.

And just because science isn't accepted by the community, especially in a field as captured as nutrition and alternative meds, doesn't mean the current community consensus is correct.

politic-brain moron

there's no 'winning' or 'losing' in politics in the same way that if your football team wins, you take no shared part in their win.

if a president ends up being bad, everyone loses. if good, everyone wins.

imagine having the gall to claim the win from trump, HE earned it because of his hard work ethic and understanding of the average american. YOU did nothing

you have no claim to that win. even if your state won by 1 vote, the vote that won is non-fungible

Sadly true. There's some low hanging fruit here like banning some of the additives the the EU has already banned, but at the end of the day America is ran in the interest of corporations. We're not going to do anything that leads to the food industry having lower profits.
