I'm assuming grip strength is mostly genetics. I haven't worked out since high school sports besides golf, am 37, and got 160lbs for each hand.
Would I be able to get that to 200 with a little fine tuning and training?

You can at least double your grip strength if you focus on it

I've been lifting for 2.5 years and my grip strength is still like 90

I had this dynamometer, maxed it out in a month and then had to buy a different one, started at 170 right hand and 166 left hand. There's two types of grip strength, crush grip and static grip. It's difficult to train crush grip accurately but training static grip carries over well to crush grip. I did regular and axle bar holds in a rack for time and then just for max weight, basically rack pulls for the latter part. do these twice a week after deadlifts.

>le be me
>have issues with back day failing at forearms
>buy straps
>arms look like chicken legs (huge upper arm, no forearm)
>decide to train forearms
>do supination, pronation, and whatnot
>decide to train grip
>buy 15kg/25kg/45kg rubber grip trainers
>breeze through them
>buy on ebay 75kg/100kg metal grip trainers
>train with them for 2 months
>buy a grip strength meter
>shows grip at 47kg
man fuck this

That applies to all muscle. Nerds and autists can argue about CNS and tendons and ligaments and shit, but most strength comes from muscles.

Forearms react to iso. They explode. The only reason everyone doesn't have jacked forearms is it's painful as fuck to work them and everyone is pain averse.

Why?

I had dogshit hands until I started rock climbing. Deadhang went from 10 seconds to over two minutes. Those lil hand exercisers and wrist curls did very little for me.

you gotta do something like this anon

you have to do something basically everyday in high volumes, i was a blue collar wagie and had to lay bricks for sidewalks and shit like that and built walls, my grip strength was of the chart, and i have small hands adn a weak bone structure. Now im a neet again and i still workout, but my grip strength is now a half of what i had before, even tho i still do a lot of pullups and deadhangs and shit like that

Grip is something you need to train every day, or you need to roidmaxx to get a fraudulently strong grip for free.

These. Grip strength is all about your nervous system efficiently using all the motor units in your forearms, the size of your forearm muscles isn't that important. Just use your grip often and for many repetitions and throw in some finger extensor training (rice bucket or finger extensor bands) to avoid muscle imbalance and decrease injury risk.

My forearms balloned after doing a few exercises from armwrestlers

They are also pretty fun, macebell (with thick grips) workouts also feel pretty nice on the forearms.

Wrist rollers too, those give the nicest burn

I think it's because if you took everyone's advice, you'd be in the gym for four hours a day. people (not you) have lives and don't want to do fifty exercises a day so they don't.
