How do I workout leg muscles/build more muscular legs without doing squats?I've tried doing squats several times and I've pulled my back out painfully every time becoming out of action and losing my gains for weeks/months. Never going through that shit again.Are there any other exercises to build more muscular legs /fit/?

3x12 heavy leg press will grow your legs more than anything else. The last 6 reps should be grinders with 4-5s pause in between. Shoulder wide feet placement or a bit wider, toes out 30 degrees just like squats.Lightweight leg exercises are a meme.

I call it calisthenics volume training because the goal is to get to 100 total reps (each leg). 5 x f single leg squat or hardest progression If you didn't get 100 give yourself 5 more sets on an easier progression to knock out the remainder. If still you have any remainder at this point do an even easier progression and finish your reps. If you can't get 100 reps in 15 sets you need to start with an easier progression.You can do whatever assistance you want. This session is pretty brutal so do it once a week. Your second leg day should be lower volume=intensity
