What is the optimum amount of protein intake? Protein is expensive (meat or whey), can't afford to waste it. Help!!!
>>75470261Can't synthesize more than 0.8g of protein for every pound of lean mass you have I hit 274lb@8%@6'4 and never ate more than that There's absolutely no reason anyone healthy should ever take protein supplements
>>75470275this. just eat food.
Given that kids somehow manage to grow like 100lbs+ of muscle over their childhoods on diets of pop tarts and cheetos I don't think protein requirements are as high as some claim.
>>75470261If you’re bulking then it doesn’t matter as long as you’re not eating junk food. If you’re cutting then 1g/lb of lean body mass
>>75470261It depends on the person. I'm short, so 150g is more than enough for me regardless if I'm bulking or cutting. I can easily get that from 500g of meat + whatever amount of milk, bread and veggies I eat that day.
>>75470261Beans!!

>>75470261I'm 176lb at ~13%bf and Ive make good progress over the last couple of years getting about 135g a day. That includes 2x25g of pea protein shakes that I drink alongside lunch and dinner. The rest being meat, and a bit of milk
>>75470261Bro protein is like $50 for 60 servings. If you can’t afford that, then you need to focus on getting a better job.
>>75470261Just eat what you want and if and don't overeat. Everything else is an eating disorder.
