Should I join a swimming pool close to my house? Its 9m x 9m so its kinda small and they also have swimming classes for kids so it must be full of pee.
But its the closest and cheapest option I found.
I want to start swimming, it seems like a great sport and I enjoy it.
What do you think?
>>
Is 9x9 too small?
>>
>9mx9m
That's too square.

9m is fucking tiny. I recently went from a club w/ a 25m to a 20m pool and it felt like a big downsize. Unless you have no other options opt for 15m at the bare minimum.

That's way too small lmao

Yes it actually sound too small, but I used go to the gym there and it didnt seem that small, maybe I should go and see it personally

You'll know on first sight. You'd do a lane in 10-15 seconds as a newbie (if they even do lane swimming in that pool). Not even worth bothering.

so what? he will still get his swimming in.
>>
>>75470775
Hence why I said earlier, "unless no other options". If he has other options opting for such a minute pool would be silly
>>

Tbh I wont be able to do anything, Ill better check other options

Pushing off the wall and a couple dolphin kicks should get you to about 7-8m, at which point you have to turn.

Good man. Unless you're in some bumfuck rural area you should be able to find a good deal of alternatives.
>>

I found a good one but its 80 dollars a month, thats too much for me
>>
How much should I pay for 1 month 1 hour 3 days a week in a semi olympic pool?
>>

In my city entry to a pool is £4-£6. My gym has a pool and indoor courts and monthly membership is £44 (would be cheaper if it was just a pool)

9m is waay too short unless you don't know how to swim and even then you'll outgrow it fast. This is a pool for kids and old people doing rehab after hip replacement

Standard sizes for pools are 25m (common) and 50m (olympic) but pools built before standardization can be shorter and shallower, like 18-21m with no deep end. Happens with period Victorian and early 20th century pools for instance

Find a pool that's at least ~20m long and has classes for beginners/improvers if you're not comfortable in your stroke(s)

44 for pool + gym?
The one i found with semiolympic pool charges 80 dollars a month just for the pool. Im not sure how many times I can use it

>80 dollars a month just for the pool
That sounds a lot to me but maybe it's standard US prices
You can always shoot a message to your local swimming club to inquire how much a pool membership is on average? They would know
