Why do people say fasting feels awful? It's the only time I feel laser-focused and high-energy.

Only newfags who haven't tried it and haven't taken the OMADpill think so.

And everyone says your body burns through your muscles over fat at a rapid rate during the fast, kek.

Your muscles are too valuable, your body starts burning them as a last resort when you've been literally starving for 2+ weeks.
You do look "smaller" when fasting (and when on keto) since you deplete your glycogen and your muscles hold less water, hence they aren't as "full". Same goes for your skin. It's a pretty common bodybuilding technique, they cut carbs a few weeks before showtime to get those striations showing.

Depends on what you eat to get ready for one.
The more garbage you eat, the bigger and longer the hangover will be before your body reaches ketosis. If you eat an entire pack of Oreos and 2 bags of chips then immediately start a fast, you'll feel like dogshit before you feel good again.

I do wonder how the misinformation starts spreading. What makes people think your biology would make you lose muscles first without food... You don't need science for this, if you thought about this for more than 5 seconds you'd know it's bullshit.
I wonder why staple stuff is constantly under attack.

There's still a lot of people who think they'll die if they don't eat for a day or 2.

There are two interesting things in common about your "everyone".
The first is there are roughly zero medical doctors publishing peer reviewed research claiming that. The data is absolutely brutal, you have to work hard to find even a statistical anomaly reporting a contradiction. It's brutal, like trying to find a medical doctor in 2024 who recommends taking up tobacco smoking; good luck.
The second thing in common is most of the people saying that are broscience bros who don't know shit but sure like sounding authoritative and mostly chatter memes at each other like women. The same type of people that'll give you other bad medical advice, LOL.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7468742/
That link is a review article, I'd like to see some really good large scale RCTs with good statistical analysis on the topic.

Perhaps the God Emperor and RFK jr will save us after all.

Severe carb addicts on the blood glucose roller coaster will feel like they're going to die if they go more than three hours without a "hit". Its a ROUGH addiction, worse than nicotine, maybe as bad as alcohol, probably not as bad as H.

The middle path is the true way. Not fasting and not over feeding. Eating smaller meals is the best. You still have focus but aren't slowed down by a large meal.

Cuz they are unhealthy, the normal reaction to a lack of sleep or food is supposed to be an adrenaline rush. They are dying animals.

Fasting is a detoxification agent to 99.9% of the developed world where food is overabundant and full of chemicals. It's one of the best ways and probably the cheapest way to heal yourself, and you can do it basically anywhere.
Smaller, more protein-dense meals are the key to fasting successfully. The two work hand-in-hand. The hardest part about going on a principled fast is making sure the food you eat before and after is equally good.

Just out of curiosity, what the ever loving fuck happened to /fast/ general? It was a constant on this board but I haven't seen it in a while.

I guess I'll ask my questions here

I'm going to start doing rolling 72's to lose my last stubborn 15 pounds. As I do these fasts will my body slowly become accustomed to it and have more energy?

1. How long does detox take?
2. Wouldn't the positive of detox be only temporary since chemicals can't really be avoided and once you start eating you'd be in the same boat?

Newfags are the ones who keep falling for the fasting meme.
>>
>>75475787
fasting tends to get easier each time you do it but it'll still fuck you up if you eat poorly before starting one.
a lot of people get great results from doing a 16:8 IMF or OMAD diet that has a lot of protein in it. that kind of diet pays off very well if you stick to it and exercise. OMAD is probably the easiest kind of diet to start fasting from too.
it all depends on what works best with you and if it allows you to grow a good routine. some people cannot fast. others can for weeks. i like to do long fasts every couple months

Detoxification is relative to the individual and what toxins they habitually consume. The more toxins someone consumes, the more important it is for them to detox by giving their body a break and letting it expel all the bad chemicals and ingredients ingested from processed garbage. In my case, I was really fat, lost a lot of weight, ended up being skinny fat and having love handles and loose skin. I treated my body like garbage for many years. I also started getting warts on my hands.
Fasting killed my warts (haven't had them in 4 years), helped tighten my skin, and made my stretch marks fade. Autophagy is great for skin.
To your 2nd question, the goal of a detox should be to reset to a better norm and get the most out of your calories.
I'm 60 hours into a 72 hr water fast right now and tomorrow morning I'm either going to break it with steak and eggs or extend to a 5-day.

Your body WILL break down muscle to supply nutrients to your heart, brain, and other organs to stay alive. Misinformation spreaders.
>If you just THINK about it, it makes sense
Yeahhhh, no. That's why you recomp, then cut.
>>
>>75476007
>to stay alive
Agreed, if your body fat percentage is below 5% you probably shouldn't fast. Any higher than that (for men) and it'll break down fats LONG before it'll break down protein.
You can't seriously be claiming that it's mere coincidence that starvation victim cadavers look thin? I'm sure its just a coincidence that everyone who's ever starved to death happened to have about 0% body fat LOL.

By sweating body clean it self's too.
Water helps to be in good health and cleaning process.

This is inspiring.
>Fasting killed my warts
I heard about a thing when we stop to supply nutrition to them they will die off.
How do you regulate going to the gym 3times a week and fasting? Or you fast on rest days?
For me on rest day I eat so that body have nutrition to grow muscles.

You must really hate fat people doing keto and fasting

>anon doesnt know sparta was a bullyocracy where the warrior class just stole whatever they wanted from the farmer class
Spartans didn't even feed their kids, they expected them to extort food from the peasants if they wanted to eat. Of course they would say some shit like that, it was the high school bully equivalent of a government
>full bellies dont plough fields bro give me your lunch money

CICO keto OMAD is unironically the best cutting method.
Cutting, not maintaining/gaining.

>What makes people think your biology would make you lose muscles first without food...
Well, they feel weak and cranky when they are off from their sugarslop for more than 30min and the dr.scienceman government worker on tv said that you have to eat every few hours.
>>
>>75479584
Not really, but if you modify it to intermittent isoleucine restriction with fruit all day and your protein spread into 3 dinners, you can cut and bulk at once.
