it ain't deep stretch that's nuking the pecs, it's ur fucking retardation - u are trying to use pecs while muscle is wrapped around ribcage which is preventing it from freely contracting, it is trying sputtering violently and that's how u get cracking achy sternum

u need your arm raised and externally rotated shoulder to get deep pectoralis stretch:

The hardest thing about dips for me is keeping the weights from swinging while I dip. My dip belt looks just like this, I feel like it's not that great. Can anyone recommend a better one?

That's probably it, when I slow down obviously the weights stop swinging, but I find it harder to do my reps. If I go slow then I can only do like 6 instead of 10 for example. Oh well, guess I have to just keep grinding slow reps. No problem

I might be the only guy who wraps the belt over one shoulder and across my back
Belt across back, squat down and load weights, stand up, get on bars and dip
I use kettlebells for weight so that probably makes it easier to get them on the belt, but I bet it could be done with plates, especially if you have a step or a box or something to rest the plates on so you don't have to bend down as deep

I fucking love dips. They solved chest for me, because I cannot comfortably bench without feeling a twinge in my right shoulder. But getting a deep stretch feels great, and I'm never in pain. Holy fuck do I love dips.

Dips are heavily dependent on body structure and genetics. If you're getting chest pain you should deload or coast on your current weight until it goes away. Don't push yourself too much.
