I'm about to BLAST dips and there's nothing you can do to stop me.
Weighted or just body weight?
dips are lovedips are life
>>75479412*pec rips off in deep stretch position*
>>75479529how are you recovering from this much volume?
>>75479621dips are lovedips are lifestuffing my face & resting lots between dippin time
>>75479606>*pec rips off in deep stretch position*it ain't deep stretch that's nuking the pecs, it's ur fucking retardation - u are trying to use pecs while muscle is wrapped around ribcage which is preventing it from freely contracting, it is trying sputtering violently and that's how u get cracking achy sternum u need your arm raised and externally rotated shoulder to get deep pectoralis stretch: >>75478547>stand sideways to wall and latch elbow behind me with forearm flat on wall and bent elbow and make sure shoulder is rolled backwards (if u roll shoulder forward it will be front delt not pecs) and i hang entire weight on it slightly pressuring so that it doesn't slidethat is the pec stretch

>>75479412I FUCKING LOVE DIPS!!!!!!!!

I love dipsWhen I started it was hard, but I just kept adding weight, and now I can bust out a hundred bodyweight dips
>>75480997
my pr is like 5x+62.5kg im getting trouble with my chest its starting to hurt. am i doing it wrong? people move insane weights on dips. whats is THE one rep max technique? i try to keep my arms parallel with bars + i hunch a bit, i go to 90 degrees.
>>75479412Just hit some weighted dips (+50lbs) today. Haven’t done them in a while, so it was slight egolifting, but I’m feeling alright
>>75480997Dips are such a good strength booster. Don’t feel strong unless I can bang out dips.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJPIv-gPMq4The hardest thing about dips for me is keeping the weights from swinging while I dip. My dip belt looks just like this, I feel like it's not that great. Can anyone recommend a better one?
>>75481101i do not think it has to do with belt. i think youre dipping too fast. i had same issue but when i slow down it diminishes
>>75481119That's probably it, when I slow down obviously the weights stop swinging, but I find it harder to do my reps. If I go slow then I can only do like 6 instead of 10 for example. Oh well, guess I have to just keep grinding slow reps. No problem
>>75481101I tuck the weight behind my legscurling them a bit so they don't sway while dippin or pullin up
>>75481101I might be the only guy who wraps the belt over one shoulder and across my backBelt across back, squat down and load weights, stand up, get on bars and dipI use kettlebells for weight so that probably makes it easier to get them on the belt, but I bet it could be done with plates, especially if you have a step or a box or something to rest the plates on so you don't have to bend down as deep
Dips have never done anything for me, except for maybe some extra triceps volume. Never noticed any difference to my pecs or general strength while training dips hard.
>>75482328I do dips along with bench press and push ups so I can't tell which is having the most affect on my chest and tris. I do sometimes feel like I'm wasting time doing dips though.
>oral only dip cycle
>>75479412you know what, I was gonna start my push day with heavy OHP tonight, but you've inspired me to blast dips instead.
>>75482516stop doing OHP. you gain nothing from it. it doesnt make any muscles bigger. just a pointless exercise that has no effect on your body whatsoever.
>>75482543every successful bodybuilder on earth does OHP but I guess you know better than them, right?
I fucking love dips. They solved chest for me, because I cannot comfortably bench without feeling a twinge in my right shoulder. But getting a deep stretch feels great, and I'm never in pain. Holy fuck do I love dips.
>Sleep in awkward position>Right shoulder tingles a bit in the morning>Blast heavy dips during the evening>Injure the shit out of my shoulder, probably the rotator cuff>Will need like 72h to healFuck
>>75482559No they dont.
>>75481081Dips are heavily dependent on body structure and genetics. If you're getting chest pain you should deload or coast on your current weight until it goes away. Don't push yourself too much.
>>75482621name one (1) who doesn't
