>well now your new coach is telling you wrong
You aren't making much sense.
The 3 coaches I've had Mitch Hooper, Big Loz and my current coach who are high level strongman competitors, have all had me do high rep sets & tempo/slow eccentric work
>picrel is a block programmed by Big Loz.
>>75581993
>no one programs multiple 20 rep sets unfortunately (i coach)
You coach many strongman competitors? What about multiple sets of 100m carries, any other event that requires an extended output of reps in 60s. I've had a squat event in comp where I had to do 31 reps in 60s to win, 18 reps to win a car deadlift, etc
>>
>>75582001
What? Clearly he does what I suggest so no?

Negatives were such a minimal part of the program that I doubt they had any impact. I just don't seem to make gains no matter what I do.

there is a reply in the last thread

there is not a 20rep set in that spread either and i would not expect one further into the program

you are in the 3-5 range on main lifts which is correct and i mentioned last thread

no disrespect to Laurence he does not have many top finish in recent years

without knowing your squat week 4 i would be surprised if you manage to hit 10 on the backdown as main set would be about 85% and the 12-15 amrap 65%

most of the volume work is accessory which is correct as it is low cns fatigue

i dont coach strongmen generally intermediate to advanced bodybuilders and some powerlifters although it does all cross over

took me a while to make sure my wording is clear

>>75582100

Breathing under heavy weight helped me. Ive had trouble getting my brace set with pr range squats, like its impossible to expand the core because of the weight. Heavy unsupported holds concentrated on breathing helped a bit. There is also a balance point where your supported by your equipment, but still have enough room to expand. Too tight could be supportive, but cuts your air under load

You're right, I shouldn't give him any more (You)s
>>
>>75582092
I considered something like that. Honestly it seems like it gets worse the more I lean back although that's how I'm typically advised from the sidelines while I'm doing the event. I feel like I'm also limited by my hamstrings locking up.

>>75582148
if you're talking about squat walkouts or something, I feel like my upper back is the weak point on that less so than breath. I also have the issue on husafell/conan with or without a belt.
>>

18 rep car deadlifts who is running these competitions

>no one programs multiple 20 rep sets unfortunately (i coach)
>sets of 10 or a single set of 20 not multiple sets of 20 the idea behind it is muscle building not exclusive to accessory lifts but mostly
Not really sure what you're arguing. Correct that block didn't have any sets of 20. But multiple high rep sets. Backdowns of 15 on squat and overhead. 4x15 dimmel deads. My current program is very similiar.
>you are in the 3-5 range on main lifts which is correct and i mentioned last thread
Yes, followed by high rep backdowns. No one mentioned multiple sets of 20 besides yourself and even stating multiple sets of 10 (or more) is a waste of time. My current phase is building muscle, strength and work capacity. Naturally as I get closer to comp the volume drops, intensity and specificity increases.
>I would be surprised if you manage to hit 10
I would hit 15. I've done 160kg for 20 when my backsquat was 220kg 4 years ago which is 72%. If I was stronger I imagine that percentage would go down but I think you underestimate how heavy you can go for a high rep set when you train hard. The 20 rep deadlift backdown I did earlier this was was 63%
>no disrespect to Laurence he does not have many top finish in recent years
He has loads. Mitch Hooper for one, Bobby Thompson (solid midpack guy this year and 2x podium finish at the arnold strongman classic), Andrew Burton, Andrea Thompson, Erin Murray, Josh Spurgeon, Jack Osborn, multiple other OSG finalists

you mentioned 20 rep sets here (sets keyword) it doesnt matter it is beyond ths point

im not going through the other spreadsheet as it looks much more strongman than the first

Laurence won europes in 2016 and got 4th at wsm in 2011 in recent times he has won very little in last decade thats what you have misunderstood

i do not want to junk up this thread it all started from negatives not being useful and i stand by it

i dont believe doing 10 to 20 rep sets are effective i program 4x6 or 3x7 but again each coach differs

it is time to eat as it 6.30 here in Austin have a good evening and good luck with competition

squat 275x3 rpe 9
deadlift, I dont usually go above 225, I usually just do 3 sets of 8 then something else. SO I have no idea what that max is, its easy at 225 tho.
Bench 225x5, had atleast one more in me, rpe 8. I don't have a video for form right now, can get one soon though.

How do I get a stronger bench and squat? IDC for deadlifts I don't want to snap my shit up

Hey /plg/, so long story short my name is Wesley and I have a problem on the days that I squat.

Every night, without fail, after I've trained it becomes like WW1 in my bed. My gf is getting sick of it. She's started calling me BBW - Bed Brapper Wesley, and told me I need to figure my shit out.

Anyone have a similar problem of being a BBW, like me? Haha, maybe you're name isn't Wesley like mine is, but you get my gist. What did you do to fix it? Mine's really bad.

I'll just start brapping after I climb in bed and won't stop for hours. Sometimes it keeps me up. Other times I fall asleep, and wake up with my gf gone and she'll text me that she went to stay the night with her friend. I'll even catch her on the phone laughing with this guy, she's told him her nickname for me and they laugh about it, asking things like "how's the BBW", and then start laughing.

Really need some help on this, she's started staying over at her friend's place more and more, even on nights when I don't squat, and the brapping isn't happening / as bad.

i've been putting 2.5 on my ohp / row / bench / pullup every lift, and 5 on my dead / squat since i started in august.
it's now getting pretty difficult. i don't think i'm eating enough, for one, but basically every lift is fucking nails.

I quit powerlifting because those assholes had me wait for hours just to go up and do my lift. By the time I'd do it I'd be starving and not be able to get the weight up. They also have most of their events outside in the summer heat as if heat doesn't fatigue you and sabotage your lifts. Fuck them, they make it impossible to hit PRs or even a decent weight you've already done. Way too disorganized, nobody knows what actual time you'll be up there lifting. I once had to wait 8 hours and couldn't even hit my opening lift and got DQ'd. Fucking embarrassing. Fucked up my back for nothing.
>>
>>75582893
I've stopped using chalk in training. Switched to trap bar every other session. Used false grip every other straight bar session (so 25% of the time) at reduced volume for grip training. After a few months of this my chalkless max (formerly 75% chalked max) jumped to over 90% my max. Mixed grip of course since hook is for faggots
>>
>>75583252
Buddy, the only people here who go to competitions are obese lolcows. Just do the powerlifts for fun, no one cares.
>>
>>75583323
No wonder all the records are laughable. I took it seriously and had great lifts that were never officially recorded because of how big of shitshows those competitions are. I did work as a spotter for one event and just stared up girl's assholes while they bent over to squat and dead, and stole a bunch of tshirts and medals. That was the most fun I ever had at a meet.

THREADLY, RELEVANT, and HIGH QUALITY REMINDER for you unlifting ANON CHODEs to post body/lifts and get a trip. Tripping is the only way anyone will believe anything you have to say about anything. And only if you demonstrate at least one of the following:
>A squat in excess of both 2.5 times bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A deadlift in excess of both 2.5 time bodyweight AND 500 lbs
>A bench press in excess of both 1.5 times bodyweight AND 350 lbs
>A LMAO4PLAET or greater row from the ground
>A Log "Press" of at least 240 lbs and 1.15 times bodyweight
>A front squat equal to or greater than LMAO4PLAET and 1.75x bodyweight
>A body that /fit/ won't roundly criticize (good fucking luck)

UPDATED LIST OF PLG APPROVED ACRONYMs (Arcane CipheRs Of Never Yielding Masculinity). Post, but don't spam, in every thread.

>GDE (Genetic Dead End)
Exercise low-responder. High injury rate, no sports background, weak willed.

>OGD (Obese Genetic Dud)
A GDE that tried to cope by getting fat. Did not get stronger. Look at him and laugh.

>SUMO (SUbhuman MOron)
Too stupid and/or genetically deficient to just bend over and pick something up. Copes through a combination of clowning half reps and eating butt.

>UFO (Under Fed Organism)
Adult human male weighing less than 200 lbs. Throw food at them until the problem is remedied.

>VOLEM (Voluntary Evermediate)
Late beginner, early intermediate. Panics when the bar gets heavy. Program hops, works on technique, or sabotages recovery as an excuse to not progress.

>BONER (Bench Only No Effort Retard)
Wants to have the admiration and ego of someone who lifts, but doesn't want to get the squat or deadlift of someone who actually lifts. Copes with a combination of bench press and autism.

>LARPER - Lamely Accessorizing Retard, Performance Essentially Rubbish
Wants to be a powerlifter without actually lifting or trying hard. Buys $800 in clothes and accessories to dress the part. Stuck at a 400 kg total. Widely loathed.

>FAGIT (Freakishly Adept Genetically, Incredible Total)
Strong from birth, never had to work for it. Still works at it, just to ULTRA MOG GDEs even harder. Hated by everyone, but they can't really do anything about it.

>JANITOR (Just ANother Ineffectual Twig, Obviously Retarded)
Complete assclown and permanent virgin.

>TCHAD (Tries Consistently Hard All Day)
The Isleys, MAs, and other guys with average genes who actually like competing and getting stronger.

>TWIT (Third World Idjit Tard)
Smelly unAmerican FOREIGNER who lifts in the futile hopes it will make him matter like AMERICANS matter

No paying lolfeds, no retarded rules. If you archmaged, they'd wouldn't count it simply because you obeyed some faggy IPF rule. They used common sense.

The fuck is the point of the extra sets? To fatigue you so your max set is shit? You only need to do one max set, that's the only part of weight training that stimulates myofibril generation. You don't use weights for fucking endurance training. Do 1x5 with failure weight, consistently for a few weeks, you'll see what I mean.

>>75584314
I do, just enough IQ to understand some lifts are for pushing the most weight possible and other's are not. Weighted dips are notoriously a retard magnet, always watch someone's feet and how much they move in the y axis to see the level of fraud in play. Elbow angle can be manipulated by torso position. Bobby here is being spastic so it's hard to tell exactly but the ROM is miniscule.
>>
>>75584354
Weighted dips don't even do anything except destroy your elbows. Barbell lifts in any chest variant in infinitely better for you than weighted dips. Dips should only ever be done with your bodyweight in a slow, controlled way
>>
>>75584371
>Dips should only ever be done with your bodyweight in a slow, controlled way
I do triceps dips only where your torso and legs kept straight until elbow runs out of ROM.
You can do them weighted but you have to put the weight behind you and not in front so you don't get pulled forward. The extreme ROM into the bottom position forces you to do it slowly and controlled.
>barbell lifts are better
You do both, the dips I am describing would be something you'd do as an accessory in place of a close grip bench.
>>

In a hurry but yall know that ain’t gonna stop from me proving you with another update, currently excreting Norman khan
>>
>>75584249
You could, you'd get incredibly good at 1RMs. I think with the intensity you need to actually go to failure, you'd risk injury though. I usually do 5RM then do meso sets or drop sets to 8-10 just to fully exhaust. Doing this and weight rollbacks has given unlimited gains the past year, I've gained 14lbs lean in like 8 months which is ridiculous for someone who's been lifting 17 years.

From how hard this OHP was, I realised that last time I did 1pl8, I was using a women's 15kg barbell. Same with my last 4pl8 deadlift. I was excited I had hit the arbitrary milestones, but actually I was 5kg short. I don't remember which bar I used on my latest 2pl8 bench. No matter, 1pl8 OHP was knocked out for real today and for many reps.

What the fuck is a sword swing?
>Set-Up: Assume a shoulder width stance with a light barbell.
>Lift: Drawing the pole back, rotate it quickly but in complete control across your body. The rotation and movement should take place as much as possible through the hips and middle back. The lower back should move very little.

ROM hacking your bench I can understand, it's the competition lift. Fraud it to the max extent that's allowed in competition.
When you bring that mentality to lifting in general is where the problem starts. Leverage maxed circus tricks vs training the muscles and raising base strength. It's obvious from your lifting history that you legitimately have no idea how to do the latter.

It's because you're hitching in your training. Consider the following: John Haack is nearly half your weight, deadlifts more than you do, while not using straps. Why is that, do you think?
>Hurr durr muh heckin roids
Not the point. He focuses on form. As Layne Norton (Ph.D.) says: treat the light weights like they're heavy, and eventually the heavy weights will feel light. If you cheat on light weights, you'll cheat on heavy weights. If you lack the muscular strength to lift the lighter weights to where you're cheating to finish the lift, then you get diminishing returns. That is, cheating on the heavier weights will only get you so far, and you'll experience exactly what happened to you: failure. Check your ego at the door, you fat fuck. Crank the weight down by at least 100 lbs, focusing on CLEAN REPS and save your cheating for exclusively PRs. If you're cheating to lift anything below 95% your max, you're only cheating yourself. Not that you care. Keep whining, fat boy. I'll still be here to laugh at you every step of the way.
>>

I'm pretty sure you're as incapable of not hitching a deadlift as you are of telling the truth.

This is why you failed to lift the heaviest stone in your gym in front of your pregnant man crush, Trey Mitchell. You have a weak posterior chain, and you refuse to address it with periodized training.

Instead of hitching every deadlift so that you can LARP as a strongman, you should train blocks where you pull to a powerlifting standard.

How are you this deep into your training history, and still need periodization explained to you?

Here is an example of a good dip. It still hits the chest a ton. You don't have to use a lot of weight when you do them like this, and that's a good thing. At your body weight however I can see the concern about exposing yourself into the end range position of a proper dip.

Based retard.
>>
>>75585481
>Also that is end range of ROM for me
And to add, I doubt that. It may be that way when you do a "chest dip" with an exaggerated lean. If you stay more upright, you can go so much deeper.
>>
>>75585510
I ran out of chest dominant movements to do. I have Larsen's next week but I honestly couldn't think of a good movement to do in that slot this week. I originally had 3/1/0 but I was thinking that was way too close to comp style when I'm hitting a new max in 2 weeks. Besides, dips are fun.

>>75585515

Anyone can make up a routine that works because any routine will work, it's not that complicated and in my experience even just doing one set will work. It's actually better to make up your own based on other solid routines, your body craves its own fine tuned routine rather than some bullshit likely made by someone on roids whose body doesn't work like yours.

>>75585481
I usually lift under ideal conditions and exoect my maximal performance to be under those conditions. Starving me for 8 hours before I'm supposed to perform with maximal effort isn't going to work. Even if it's hot in the gym I can't hit my maxes, I have a broken finger atm from doing a box jump when it was way too hot in the gym and I was fatigued. Went for a 1RM and only got like 80% of the way up, bailed and snapped my pinky. Yes if you're going for a 1RM that's your MAXIMAL EFFORT, it's a failure rep and if you're not at peak performance you're going to fail the rep. There's too many variables in PL competitions and quite frankly I'd rather train and perform under more reasonable circumstances. Making people wait 8 fucking hours without knowing what time they're going up, or making them sit outside for hours in the summer heat, that's a solid no from me. They need to organize better, that's a failure of the organizers not me.

Deadlift is the gayest worst lift ever created. You have a bunch of retarded twinks that cant even bench 100kgs deadlifting 300kg and they dont even train anything else and think theyre hot shit.

350 rolls foward more when you dip.

>>75586185
Theres hardly even any back involved in deadlift. You could be rowing 150kg for reps and not even be able to deadlift 200

not gay but i have this fantasy of a more experienced lifter teaching me proper squat form and my butt grinds against him while he spots me

again not gay, getting the lift form down properly is my main concern. i want to continue adding weight to my squat knowing i'm not going to injure myself

Aside from rule autism, my brain seems to have a safe guard against tard lifting. It won't let me get into awful and compromised positions to begin with nevermind grind giga sharts or cat back DL

13 fat gripz extreme pullups without letting go

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IUQi52Q0o4
the gripz rotating on the bar seems to be the limiting factor, i think i could manage 15 without letting go if the grips didnt rotate ( have to squeeze them really hard for them to not rotate )

Look at how you're bowed forward a bit more in the 350 attempt. You were nice and tight on the 330 attempt. 350 your hips went forward and you leaned back. You pressed yourself into a curve instead of pressing the bar upward. I bet it would be more noticeable from the side view. You also started the 350 attempt with a little bounce that you didn't do in the 330.
>>
>>75587302
>You pressed yourself into a curve instead of pressing the bar upward
thats what you want to do with log press. Pressing it straight up has the center of gravity to far foward and puts you into a position where you cannot exert good force into it. Pressing it back in a curve while getting under it like a incline press is one if the two methods
the other us a straight jerk style, but even doing a split jerk, many strongman like to dip and layback to be able to better press it out if the jerk was shit or not strong enough (hooper)

I get that but It was noticeably more than his previous attempt. He squished himself like a spring and the log stopped moving. Log version of your hips shooting up and your chest caving in the squat.
>>
HI /plg/, I think that you would be very interested in my TURDMAN program. TURDMAN is geared for fat fucks like you all.

If 12 frozen pizza snacks is a possible meal, and not a cry for help, if your bodyweight is someone's deadlift, then you need to see my TURDMAN
