>When a person takes part in resistance exercise, muscle tissue is placed under stress. This causes micro-tears in the muscle fibres. The body responds by repairing the muscle fibres and making them larger. So that means macro-tears=Even bigger muscles?
>>75607773Yes
>>75607773Micro tears only happen to noobs and retards who train with way too much volume. It's part of the reason why noob and high volume DOMS hurt so bad. The main drivers of muscle and strength enhancement in muscle tissue is a combination of applied mechanical tension and metabolite pooling. That's it
>>75608091so youre saying high rep low weight causes bad doms. I do progressive overload but with high weights (dont ask me why I know its bad). but it looks as though my muscles are getting more.... toned, for lack of a better word. not bigger but like, harder.
>MY SNEEDALING>MY SNEEDALING>I WANT YOU TO PLAY WITH MY CHUCKALING
>>75609346the original quote is funny. this retarded shit you just made up is not. idiot.
>>75607773A.I. is lying to you OP. There is more than one type of muscle growth, you can increase the number of fibers, grow the number of fibers and increase the size of the fascia and then increase fluid retention.
>>75607773>The body responds by repairing the muscle fibres and and that's it. It just repairs them. That's the response to you tearing them. You could do this a million times and never get bigger. If it does also makes them larger that's a response to mechanical tension. Basically your body weighs the tension you're putting it under against the resources you're feeding it and decides whether or not it can and should grow.
>>75607773>macro-tearsno, macro tear is the scientific term for snap city, but feel free to do your own research
>>75607773I thought that the micro tears theory was debunked
>>75607773Yes, if you think about it, its like patching a old weathered piece of clothing, the patch is ever so slightly raised up above the tear in the clothing that you're patching. So if the tear is larger, you're going to need a larger patch. This is also how steroids work. The steroids cause an immune response similar to the one that is made after exercise. This fools the body into thinking that the muscles are in need of repair. This causes cells to rush to the muscles and, in essence, "patch" them building up the muscle mass.
>>75612927The word tear precludes detachment.
>>75607773micro tears heal quickly, macro tears heal slowly
