I've been doing freeweights (2x 10kg dumbbell) and pushups etc at home
my left pec is lagging behind the right
figured I'd focus on balanced exercises and "brush my teeth" with the left for a while to even them out (a week so far)

today I'm stretching with an elastic and noticed that the right side of my back activates so much more than the left
the problem is a lot worse than I thought

how do I bring 1 shoulder up to speed with the other?

Just keep doing balanced exercises and it'll balance out on it's own as you progress. For the record you'll need to increase the amount... wtf exercises are you doing with the dumbbells anyway?

Literally just do starting strength for a month and it'll balance out.

it's how your scapula is hanging that causes the discrepancies, how your shoulders are rolled foreward etc. pec is probably not lagiing at all otherwise u'd heve to retardo bench with uneven grip to get the bar up, it's simply hidden in your armpit, tensed differently

but bot gpt, what is that supposed to be ? this just doesn't happen

That's shit. Get bands and youtube pulling and rotator cuff exercises. The opposite muscle of your scapula problem is pecs. There could also be an imbalance
