I'm only now, at 31 years old, knowing that you're supposed to use the muscles of your soles when walking to generate movement

Instead of thrusting your hips forward to walk

I do both, is this some kind of problem or super skill?

How do you even do that? This is the first time I've heard of someone walking this way.
>>
Personally, I lift one leg and put my foot down in front of me, then I repeat with the next leg.
>>

Doing this will only get you cramps.
>>

I'm nearly 40 and only in the past year did I realize that I've been using mostly my right leg to propel me forward, and the left leg was just used for balance. My left shoulder and left core are also lazy and I'm mostly kept upright by the much stronger dominant right side.
It was only having the past year in the gym did I realize I had nearly no strength in my left leg but loads in my right, same for my shoulder and core. I'm having to "relearn" how to walk!
>>
My toes are starting to curl, I think I have bunions in my big toe and hammer toe in the second from smallest toes. I looked up mobility shit on youtube, they move their toes and spread them individually. I can't do it. I can either scruntch up all toes or have them be normal, no other mobility, no control of individual toes. Being half way through the 30s suck.

can you post a video of how you were walking before and how you are walking now?
I don't understand what you're trying to convey.
>>
>>75716763
Imagine how powerful you will be with this knowledge. You've basically been going through life on hard mode without knowing it
>>
>>75716806
Me? I lift both legs up at the same time.

I like to levitate slightly, gradually lean foreword and then accelerate at terrifying speed, I much prefer it to regular walking

I need to see this. Are you seriously humping the air as locomotion

Walking on your toes is peak autism, gj op. You use your entire posterior chain and hips to walk. Walking is a science. Track athletes spend half of their gym training trying to optimize their gait.

Also: if your feet splay outwards while you walk you are walking wrong. You must mitigate overpronation/duck feet.
Too many people walk wrong and likely wear ill fitting shoes.

I only just realised I dont activate my glutes when walking, like I use way to much quads. Been actively trying to fix this.

Yeah man. You're not supposed to move your legs when you walk, you're supposed to stay perfectly still except for your feet which look like crawling caterpillars.
>>
>>75720929
Wrong, faggot! Europe.
>>
This thread prompted me to get up and walk around the room with an exaggerated forward hip and backward shoulder position, while giggling like a child/retard. I'm on the clock, too.
So thanks for that one, /fit/.

Had something similar. For some reason my left side/core was really weak but managed to 'mask' it for decades too.

Only until I went to a physio did I learn my left side was messed up and had been causing pains and aches for years.
Sucked quite a bit as I started to work on the weaker muscles.
>>
I'm trying really hard to imagine OP's walking style but my mind won't let me picture something that retarded
