Let's say you were socially awkward, meek and shy NEET for the first 20 years of your life. Is it possible to cultivate a personality that makes you confident, outgoing and criminal-like when you hit 30 years old? Can the gym + meditation help with that?
>>75718321Yes, with the right tools.I suggesting starting with this one, and there are at least a few others in the series that will help (and yes, they work): https://www.learningstrategies.com/Paraliminal/Magnetism.asp
>>75718321Yes, I've done it, ama. I'm commuting rn but I'll answer any question you might have
>>75718425What was the base personality that you were working with; how were you like in your childhood? What personality did you transition to? Why?
>>75718425What do you think of this artist's rendition of Spider-Man?
>>75718321Yes, personality comes from mindset, mindset is caused by your hormone levels, lifting changes your hormone levels.
>>75718321Just like in DBZ, you can't change your innate potentials. Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, etc are strong because they have freak genetics for strength. So there's always going to be the selection of people who have way more potential to be a certain way.But you have plenty of ability to work within your own range of possibilities. However, if you try to push too far outside of your natural tendencies then your psyche will compensate in ways that can be pretty disastrous. Think about the people who go crazy on roids--it's because they weren't really meant to be in that state. Meanwhile you get other guys doing grams on grams who feel pretty optimal. So it becomes more of a game of figuring out which things work for you and then heading in those directions, rather than arbitrarily trying to be something much different.
>>75718321you have to completely change your environment, possible but extremely hard, just lifting and fantasizing about something won't do it, you have to surround yourself with people you want to be like and do stuff that you currently wouldn't do.
>>75718321yeah, frauding has many positive mental benefits picrel
>>75718321I did with anti-depressant meds. Went from quiet and shy to being witty and confident. Took 3 months of meds but it was worth it.
>>75719570Which med? Would you say you were more of the anxious type or depressed type?
>>75718321For the most part and by large, it would be very hard for you to change your personality. Personality is 50/50 genetics and environment. There's a reason why we have gymcels.People tend to use Zyzz as an example that you could change your personality. But I'd argue Zyzz was always high energy before he lifted.
>>75720081Dunno if zyzz mainlining tren and party drugs is really a good example.
>>75718321Personality is highly heritable. It's like height > intelligence > Personality from memory
>>75718321It's more about being around people who can feed into that new character
>>75719742The med is called sertraline. I'm much more of the anxious type but I was definitely depressed too. After I was on the meds for three months I took a month break from taking it and felt amazing and extremely optimistic during that time. The effects wore off after the month was over but I started back on it mid-December and I'm starting to feel motivated and confident again. I'm sure it depends on the person but that's what my psychiatrist recommended.
>>75718321>Is it possible to change your personalityYes.>Can the gym + meditation help with that?Lmao no. Gym only gives you the looks, to get rough you have to go out and get involved with people similar to what you want to become, and you have to act the part a bit to get started as well.
>>75720474Thanks for the info. It helps me understand SSRIs better. What you say is pretty in line with the successes I've seen others describe.Or in other words, anxiety seems to be a starting requirement for positive long term benefits, despite the drugs being so heavily associated with depression.
>>75718429>What was the base personality that you were working withExtremely introverted, meek and somewhat narcissistic. A terrible cocktail of weakness and harbored arrogance. >how were you like in your childhood?Happy and friendly, more extroverted but always felt disconnected from the other kids. Things got worse during puberty.>What personality did you transition to? During my college years I moved to a different city and could build my reputation up from scratch. So I faked it. I became extremely extroverted and talkative, similar to a talk show host like Dean Martin. A bullshit artist and a social chameleon. Fake it till you make it. It has done plenty for me, with friends, women and my career. It can get you very far but it's not all sunshine and roses. Lifting made me become more assertive and greatly respected among male company before even speaking. >Why?I had to, I couldn't stand being my old self. I still am in some ways, but that doesn't affect my social life anymore. >>75718430The composition is nice, it almost reminds me of a Frazetta piece because of the muted colors. However I couldn't imagine Spiderman taking a martial artist head on.
>>75718321It's not actually possible to change anything, every action you take is a predetermined result of previous states and your neurons firing up in a specific way in response. Now go lie on the floor.
yes, step 1 is become self aware of how people react around you, step 2 is go work in a place with a lot of people (i.e. restaurants) step 3 is take time to reflect on the interactions step 4 is to change different facets of every day living step 5 is to polish what you do well and also sand down what you do poorly
>>75721480your mom's attitude changed when I pulled my dick out
>>75718321My personality has changed tremendously since I was 20, but it took a lot of factors for me to finally sit down and decide who I wanted to be.Your 'personality' is really your approach to situations. If you don't put yourself into different situations, you'll never get the needed practice to choose how you want to react when you run into trouble.Talent is 80% horseshit and only matters when you're already a motivated expert competing with other motivated experts. Most people aren't motivated experts. The marathon record time didn't drop because people got genetically an hour faster. It dropped because people were dedicated to getting really good at marathon running. Most experts are experts because they got trained by experts for years and years, not because they were 'naturally talented'.What you can do, however, is decide what you should practice to get the most bang for your buck for YOU personally. If you've got a big, heavyset frame, you won't see results as fast with acrobatics. Most people won't see the benefits of training you. You probably will never reach the higher eschalons in acrobatics because the effort cost to yield is too high to be useful to you or your trainer. If you want to get good at talking to people, you have to talk to people. If you want to banter, you have to banter. You have to be willing to get punched in the metaphorical mouth and come back. The idea that some people just magically "get it" from the beginning is the single most harmful idea in our culture. You have to do it, you have to keep doing it, and you have to be dedicated to getting good at it. You also have to be motivated, otherwise you're gonna hate yourself for torturing yourself for something you don't even want.So what do YOU want, OP? What do you REALLY want? Do you just want to be respected? Do you want to be physically strong? Do you want to be able to defend yourself? All of those things are related, but different training is needed.
>>75721480source?
>>75721550Great post
>>75721550You're very talented at being gay
>>75718321Social skills are just that, skills that can be developed. I was a socially awkward mess up through 22, but when I got a job that put me in an office forcing interactions with people and needing to make calls every day, I can safely say I don't embarrass myself every day. I'm 34 now and am actually quite sociable, but I still think back on embarrassing things and actually physically cringe at myself.
>>75718321You always can change yourself. If you really want to be the person you should be, you'll eventually do it at some point, so don't waste your time wondering why things went wrong and work on your real essence
>>75721550Wise words, my two cents: "talent" is cope from the unmotivated and even disrespectful to the people who put in the time, effort and dedication to achieve their goals.
>>75718321you HAVE to go through embarrassing moments in your life to understand whats actually awkward in social settings. Learn from your mistakes. But don't be like the morons who believe the world should be a certain way and tell themselves they dont need to change
>>75722692As that anon said, it's just another skill that you can develop. Don't look back. Don't compare yourself with others. Our journey is only ours and no one in this fucking shit world have lived what we've lived. You already are a champion for want to change
>>75718321Roiding changed my personality. Changing my hormonal profile to that of an alpha male gave me a breakthrough on male/female relationships and social hierarchy power dynamics that stuck with me off cycle. I had to feel it to understand.
