Whats better for chest development, dips or bench?
>>
>>75719763
incline bench mogs
>>
>>75719765
mogs both?
>>
>>75719763
dips
>>
>>75719763
are you really this stupid?
>>
Meme exercise for underaged twinks vs the king of upper body exercises

Hmmmmmm I don’t know
>>
>>75719776
>>75719783
I asssume both of you are powerlifters? lol
>>
>>75719763
DB bench is better for growth than barbell. They allow one to go deeper, with everything at a more optimal angle. I personally think they're better than dips but barely. Both are good do both.
>>
>>75719770
every chest movement. you cannot overdevelop upper chest so spam it. it also works the middle part of the chest too.
>>
bench press obviously
>>
>>75719783
Bench press may be a meme but it has some benefits. And yes, dips are the king of upper body exercises. It works chest, tris, shoulders, core, and trains one to have control over their own bodies. And you can do them almost anywhere, no need for actual equipment.
>>
>>75719763
I've seen good growth doing slightly inclined DB bench and then doing dips to failure as a finisher
>>
>>75719774
>>75719820
>>75719973
just curious, but how much can you dip? Like, how many plates? what's the equivalent to the 2 plate bench, given a bodyweight of about 180 lbs?
>>
>>75719763
Bench. Dips are easier to progress on however and the carryover is about as close to 1:1 as possible, so if you know what you're doing you can use bench to build muscle and weighted dips to break plateaus.
>>
>>75719799
Shut up.
>>
>>75720082
jay cutler agrees with him though. DBs are king
>>
>>75720089
King of shitty unstable presses, yes.

>>75719801

based grindr user

I don't have a home gym and don't want to turn my house or backyard into a ghetto gym.
Can i get away with just dips using gym rings, deficit pushups balancing on 20lbs kettlebells and floor flys.
Maybe even decline floor press with KBs and other variations?
>>
>>75720103
hey if you can't do them just say so, anon. they're only unstable if you're weak :)
>>
>>75720122
No reason to do an inferior lift. I'm almost certain I dip and bench more than you.
>>
>>75720142
Probably but it's not inferior, just different. :^)

The 'instability' is a good thing, unless you're retarded and ego lift yourself into a collapsed rib cage.
>>
>>75720103
If you do them regularly you’ll know it isn’t unstable. I can just imagine you tried pressing 40’s and gave up.
>>
>>75719763
Flys with bent arms. I had to drop the weight down to 65lb on the pec deck because I didn't want big ass titties. But that's because I'm a freak and know how to have muscle control to perfectly target the muscle I want.
>>
>>75719783
Functional compound exercise versus overloaded pushup
>>
>>75719763
Just do both, retard.
>>
I hate bench and never do it. I do weighted dips because they're fun and easier to progress but flat barbell bench is absolutely better for chest size. I can do dips with 130lbs added for reps and my chest is underdeveloped compared to rest of my body. If I buckled down and just benched and got to 3pl8 for reps I'd probably have a better chest. Don't lie to yourself. Bench is better for building chest. Dumbbell flat bench is ok, but you are wasting alot of energy kicking the dumbbells up and using much lower weights than you could bench. Like 600lb benchers using 150s for reps to do dumbbell bench. And that's for flat. Incline dumbbell press is even worse. even kicking the 85s up for incline is a pain in the ass. If you want big pecs just get a big flat bench with a barbell and stop coping with other bullshit.
>>
>>75719799
dumbbell on one day for stability, barbell on the other for strength
>>
>>75721505
>wasting alot of energy kicking the dumbbells up
You can set two plyo boxes on both sides of the bench to pick up and put down the DBs.
I did this at home because I've got powerblocks and didn't want to slam them down when bailing and damage them, but find it to be a pretty ideal set up if you get boxes at the right height for you.
Lets you load up a ton more weight than you can kick up and sit down with and if you need to bail you can just set them down on the box, no twisting of your arm or need to throw them off.

make way niggas, for the true king of horizontal presses

I did weighted chest dips for like 2 or 3 years, including gironda dips, instead of benching. Bench is better for pecs. Why, I don't know. I feel more of a stretch and more pec doms with dips; but during these years my pecs hardly grew while my triceps exploded, and when I benched again for the first time afterwards, my pecs were on fire. That was powerlifting style bench, guillotine bench works pecs even more.

>>75721591
DB benching is inferior because dumbbells require more control and mental effort to balance, which is better used for actually lifting the weight.

>>75721607
This is just an inferior bench, for anatomical reasons. Did that during covid, worse than bench and dips. Ring pushups are great though, but mostly for shoulders (they work hard to stabilize)
>>
>>75719763
Dips but ONLY if you use rings
>>
>>75719763
bench: easier to progressively overload and is a bodybuilder staple for a reason
>>
>>75719763
Not sure but just do both. I alternate dips and bench 6 days out the week
>>
>>75721607
This
>>
>>75719763
Big chest looks terrible on a man, Arnold and the other fags from that era are to blame for the rise of that aesthetic. Not overly developed, lean and muscular is the best look for a chest, like in the bronze era
>>
>>75722491
why are rings so special? It's just harder to balance, but the actual weight is the same, right?
>>
>>75719763
dips are all about front delts like OHP

but weighted you can stress them more

elbows tight, they go back not out

rock forward a bit

DO WEIGHTED DIPS

YOUR BENCH AND thePRESS WILL THANK YOU
>>
>>75722576
ill continue to walk by and flex my big titties, bird chest
>>
>>75722576
fuck you i want my milkies BIG

Cambered bar bench
/Thread
>>
i cant do dips
>>
>>75722378
>my pecs hardly grew
mine have grown substantially since switching from barbell to DB bench, even though I'm using less weight
>>
>>75720024
Probably two 45s for weighted dips. Anything higher IMO, form has to be perfect otherwise you'll wreck your shoulders and you can't cheat on dips unlike bench with the arch back for ROM.
