how the fuck do i progress on these? i can do 10kg on each side for 12 reps with good form but the moment i add 2.5kg to each side, it becomes hard as fuck 3-4 reps in
>>

Well, do 3-4 reps and aim to increase that over time. Do negatives. Gett microplates and do 10.5kg on each side before moving to 11kg and so on. Try doing 20 reps with 10kg on each side, or more sets if not more reps. Do variants. Take a rest from overtraining. Eat and sleep more.
>>
>>75721787
You do higher reps and more volume per week
>>
Also why are you not adding 1.25kg per side?
>>
>>75721787
you're being gated by your forearms. train your forearms and you'll be able to progress on curls

Go heavy - it'll be fine
>>
>>75721787
Retard. Do heavy pulling compounds movements like Bent Over Barbell Rows, Close Grip Lat Pulldowns (Palm Towards)/Chin-ups, Chest Supported Dumbbell One Arm Rows, T-Bar Rows, High Rows (Palms Up).
You don't do isolations for strength.

Assuming the bar is 10kg, your going from 20 to 25kg, thats a 20% increase in weight. Why exactly are you suprised thats a lot harder?
Imagine just jumping from a 100 to a 120kg bench.
>>
>>75721859
Actually I'm retarded and can't into math, its actually 25%, thats even worse thats like going to a 125kg bench. Yea when I was benching 100kg for 12 my rep max with 125kg was 3 reps so it tracks.
>>
>>75721787
By working your whole arm
>>
>increase bicep curl by 5kg.
ye no shit retard. you're supposed to add it with 2.5kg
>i dont have 2.5kg in the gym
buy it and take it with you or just add 2 more clippers on each side. a clipper is a decent amount of light weight, depending which type.
>>
>>75721787
>10kg on each side
Why the fuck are there so many newfags here that don’t even know how to count the barbell weight? Genuinely fucking embarrassing for the board
>>
>>75721924
Those ez-bars don't all weigh they same, and he could also be using a straight bar so it could really be anything from 7-10kg.
>>
>>75721849
jesus wtf happened there?

he finally made it

roids

Yep, muscle grows faster than tendons - if you're juicing.
>>
>>75721787
With a 12-15 kg bar, you are moving 32-35kg as is typical with ezbars. An increase of 5 kg is an increase in effort of as much as 15%. Of course it gets hard earlier. What else did you expect?
>it becomes hard as fuck 3-4 reps in
So try to get five or six reps and don't puss out. Training is supposed to be hard. That's what makes it training.

I had decent progress on BB curl until I stalled, but I noticed we had an older nautilus preacher machine and I'm up 20lbs on the lift and feel fine.
Going to be doing sets at 120 next time.
>>
>>75722380
gains. Finally got the peaks he wanted
>>
>>75721787
Do 13 reps with the same weight...?
I'd say don't add weight until you can do like 5-6 with it
>>
>>75721787
get 0.5kg plates, or smaller if you can find them, increase the weight in smaller increments
>>
I noticed that failure on preacher curls is a lot different from other exercises. Usually when reps start to get grindy in other exercises I can go on for like 1/3 reps at most but with preacher curls sometimes I can grind 6 or even more reps
