Why?
>>75726315takes leg drive out of the movementmakes the movement more difficultslightly increases romall good things to work on if you want to improve your bench
Because it's there.
I find that the use of my feet actually stabilizes my shoulders. So I would never do this, bench is risky enough as it is.

>>75726379You're absolutely right. That's why I always squat while standing on a bosu ball.
>>75726326what does leg drive even mean
>>75726396Imagine you are doing a bench press, as you normally would: you press up with your arms, but for a leg up, press your legs on the floor, and drive up the bar through the legs to the spine and chest, and think about spreading the floor apart, the added stability for the press.
>>75726379>risk mitigation is being a stupid scared moronWere you the guy that squatted his body's weight while wearing sandals? Can you walk now?
>>75726315I am an manlet and me legs wont reach to the floor level. Comfortably, that is. Although I just steal one of those meme step-planks from the open training area. I would not put my shoes up on the bench.
>>75726315Great bench assistance, i find floor press with legs extended even better
Just Larsen press, it's better
>>75726396it's like when you leg/hip drive OHP and turn it into a push press, but horizontally. for some reason it's still considered a strict bench press when you do it
>>75728545There are two leg drive styles. The first is constant tension. It just makes you more stable. There is a sink and heave style though, which is closer to what you described.
>>75728564I have a nice bench and can arch better with feet up now the other shit feels like its building no muscle and destroying my shoulders
>>75728545That's because every faggot under the age of 25 thinks "leg drive" is completely lifting your ass off the bench, doing some kind of weird pelvic thrust, and turning it into a decline press.
