Currently doing OMAD (mainly protein, fat, and occasional complex carbs) and eat less than 1000cals a day, I have had no issues with hunger pains because my metabolism is slow. I still lift about 5 times a week and walk quite a bit. I am also taking creatine.I have definitely decreased in performance at the gym (of course) and I’m hoping the creatine allows me to build some muscle or at least retain some. I’m not too worried since I can always regain muscle. Just as long as I’m losing fat. I seem to be losing about a pound a day, I have gone from 315 to 297. I was recently recommended to instead eat 3 high protein meals a day (at a surplus) and lift heavy. He said this would increase testosterone and speed up my metabolism, making it more sustainable. So my question is, what should I do? Should I continue what I’m doing? Should I do what I was recommended? Should I do something else? Any help is greatly appreciated.
>>75747296At the very least you should be upping your protein, yeah. Even doing something extreme like a protein spared modified fast maintains muscle mass and gym performance because it keeps the protein high. Just eat a chicken breast, some egg whites, or piece of white fish and some low carb vegetables for those meals outside of your larger dinner meal. You also can't get fat on protein if you wanna up it a ton. It's virtually impossible. It has to go through so many steps to be converted to glucose alone that it loses almost all its calories, and then what's left after that gets burned off for fuel, the part that gets converted to fatty acids will be burned basically immediately since you're in such a severe deficit. If you ate 150 extra grams of protein a day, which is 600 calories, maybe 30 calories of that even has a chance to be stored as extra fat if it doesn't get burned off because of all those steps and how severe your deficit is

>>75747333Nice digits, and I appreciate the info on protein.>>75747337I’ll look into it. Can’t sleep naked cuz I live with others.

>>75747296You are setting yourself up for failure. If you are 300 lbs., eating less than 1k calories AND going to the gym to "lift heavy" then I can guarantee with almost absolute certainty that you will regain every last pound of fat and most likely some more. You need TWO THINGS for success. TWO FUCKING THINGS. 1. Slight/moderate calorie deficit with proper macro composition relative to *your* TDEE (YES FOCUS ON PROTEIN INTAKE) 2. ConsistencyIf you aren't willing to become a pro at the absolute bare minimum, baseline, foundational skills of fitness then ANY fitness endeavor you'll embark on now and in the future won't last past the end of the month and will be a complete waste of time

Unless your actually a real bodybuilder EG Coach, Plan, Lifting Heavy etc DO NOT BULK.I'm amazed how many of you guys get obese listening to some other fatty that resembles this and thinks they're ripped.
>>75747296yes up your protien intake. but DO NOT eat in a fucking surplus when you are fucking 300 LBS. you should never speak to whoever recommended this absolutely retarded advice to you again.
>>75748671>>75748711May not have been surplus per se, but more so eating 3x what I’ve been eating, since I’m eating 400-1000cals a day. Is this too little?
