lay on your stomach with a folded up on either side of your rib cage.
The side that sticks out further needs more towels.

Now lay down on said towels and orientate yourself appropriately and breathe out.
Pause and let your chest decompress, breathe in slowly, but
DO NOT LET RIBS FLARE.
Stay relaxed and keep letting rib decompress.
Now breathe out more.
Repeat this until ribs are completely decompressed against the towels.
If you think you don't have air in your lungs, you fucking do. This will take you a few hours to get comfortable with.

Once you are completely flat against the ground. Use all your control to not allow ribs to flare and gently breathe. Your back will expand as will the sides.
Hold this position for a few hours.
Protip, this is going to be the most sore you will ever be as you are stretching out quite literally every rib.
Now simply do limited Cobra pose with elbow still on ground without lifting ribs off towel.
Now begin to stretch to full Cobra pose without flaring your ribs.

Congratulations, this is the maximum range your ribs could ever move without some form of flare, since any more than this is hyper extension.
