One week is a small sample size though, sometimes there's plateaus and what not, I'd say do it for a month, weight everything you eat, keep track of it and see if you get better results. But it definitely is weird.

Would having a cheat drink (coca cola in my case) be fine if I'm planning on going entirely chicken/rice/veggies diet?97kg looking to lose weight and thinking of just going entirely chicken and rice until I get some meaningful results (wanna try and get down to 75kg~). I know about the whole idea of caloric deficits and what not but I'm curious if I can continue to keep having coke or If I'm just going to have to deal with the caffeine withdrawls and go cold turkey entirely. Coca Cola isn't magic, it's food/drink with a certain amount of calories per gram just like anything else. If you were doing some keto shit, then Coke is carbs and it would fuck your "ketogenesis" or whatever bs keto people believe in, but you're eating rice so you aren't cutting carbs. So, to answer your question, if you can add the calories in the amount of Coke that you drink while still remaining in calorie deficit, well... Yes it would be fine. It's a shit caloric dense drink that won't make you full, and it will make your caloric deficit smaller and thus your weight loss take longer, Coke Zero would have none of those downsides, but if you really really want to drink regular Coke and are okay with all the downsides... Well, go for it. Like say, if you're in a 1500 kcal deficit, but you really want to drink 1L of Coke a day. Do the math, 591ml=240kcal, 1000mL = x, x =240/591*1000 = 407. Suddenly your deficit just went to 1093 just because you don't want to drink Coke Zero cause "muh sales".
