squatting fucks posture and breathing and builds gargantuan vastus lateralis and adductors and closer to hip portions of muscles which looks like shit and feels like death, yes literally :D
even if u're lean and fulla muscle u look as if u were fat - yes from frequent air-squats u will get such "benefits"

bilateral squat always does that no matter the variand ditto for single leg squat variants except one

well i invented it - unilateral quarter-squat with full internal hip rotation (keep rotating inward all the time) isometric hold

every leg will look better with big developed gastrocnemius, it covers back of the knee, changes proportions of leg - literally nothing better for your leg aesthetics and health - picture - than heel-hook isometric hold, remember to point toes
