Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

The basic idea is that if your insulin is too high your body won't give up fat cells and therefore adjust by making it up in other areas.
But I thought most overweight people became insulin resistant, so I have no idea how that comes into play.

The only weak points I have are that my pecs dont quite touch eachother all the way down to the sternum. But everything else I see is great. If just lose fat and gain muscle I will ascend.

It's possible to do a recomp but it takes a significant amount of effort, like maybe an hour every day working out. Since you're starting out on zero muscle doing baby weight exercises you don't use many calories but you still gain a little bit of muscle so it'll look like you're getting fatter at first. Plus if you're really obese you may be stretching out your skin. The fat loss part comes later after you've bloated up a bit and have left humanity behind and can do high intensity exercises indefinitely. Watch your diet, weight and calorie use very carefully at all times.
It'll be easier to diet off down to human body weight and go from there and you get to see results much quicker. You don't have to worry about losing muscle because you don't have any but you do have to transition through skinnyfat mode.
But hey, you're young. You can do it if you wanted to. It's absolutely possible if you do the work, you'll probably enjoy doing the recomp more.

Yeah I'm not strapped with cash either but it saves me money now since I'm no longer eating out, if it wasn't for the energy drinks I would be eating at around $7-8 a day. I buy all my shit in bulk from costco and eat primarily sausage / eggs / ground beef (that salmon is the cheap pink shit from walmart that usually comes canned, it was $7/lb). Empty barbell, low weights, focus on form, swallow your pride because you feel like a bitch with small weights (at least I did)

correct form will save you from injury and small weight progression between sessions will let you get to challenging weights without you wrecking your shit because you went to heavy to quickly without a feel for correct form and execution
5x5 stronglifts is great for noobs, and when you inevitably plateau/stall, your form should be adept enough to move into other, more goal oriented programs

I've lost 25 kg from 117 over about 7 months. Not quite the 1 kg a week, but I mean it's fairly close for 0 exercise.
I'm still losing weight obviously, only now starting to add exercise.
This is the first time I didn't just yoyo it like lose some then regain lose some and regain as usual.
I'm 100% sure it's related to me dropping caffeine.
It always came with cravings, maybe because of the added sugar, maybe because of the stimulant nature of it, but sitting on your ass all day you really don't need it.
Even with ADHD I don't think it was worth it in the long run.

I reckon with exercise I can hit 80kg by Christmas. Forcing myself to move has been infinitely more challenging than eating less.

Are you saying you had sweetened energy drinks like Red Bull with sugar and Monster with sugar while on keto OMAD? Because of course that's going to knock out off ketosis.

Even if artificially sweetened energy drinks when I would fast would make me hungrier. Like I would develop cravings and I would cave in and have an energy drink and then it would make me even hungrier a couple hours later. So it's better to just push through your cravings then have one of these artificially sweetened beverages and be hungrier later.

I just shared my thoughts on the caffeine part in particular.
I do not do keto or anything overcomplicated, because I don't think that is conducive to long term losses for people like me who are lazy.
I just eat less and eat clean. No sugar aside from the occasional cup of frozen fruits. My staples are oats and chicken breasts which I loved even before the diet as it has a dry texture.
I don't deny myself noodles and stuff like that. I eat ready made Chinese noodles and others too at times it's around 600 calories a pop, easy to gauge how much I had a day.

As you say, sweets might have been the primary issue not necessarily the caffeine, though I'm 100% sure it contributes. My lifestyle is sitting at the PC all day.
So an energy drink would usually trigger the eating out of boredom I guess. Same with black coffee. Stimulant demands you do something and if you are already on the PC the only other thing to do was eating.

I'm not here to give sage advice. Sorry if it came off as that, but the anon says he is a lazy fuck too so who knows, maybe it could help grease the gears for him too.
Not on any real "diet". Nowadays I struggle to eat 1500cals on some days as I just do not need it for sitting around all day.
This is as lazy as it can get I think.

When I first started I ate bone broth soup idk what you call it in English (with some coocked chicken breasts) and oats for a week, then added things slowly.
After that I no longer craved sugary shit at all and as I said the old snacks I used to have started tasting toxic.

I can do this because I work from home and do nothing all day. If you have a physical job this would be a major struggle I'm sure. I'm quite scared of starting exercise as it would probably make me hungry again.

That's a bit better, but the only relevant metric they have available is heart rate. Tricky thing is again, calories burnt depend on the power you're pushing. A trained professional athlete can push 400W for an hour with a heart rate of 150 or so. An amateur would be lucky to push half that and therefore will burn only half the calories while the same heart rate. Anything based on heart rate has almost no idea how your heart rate relates to your actual power production. So they have to guess and usually guess high, to flatter your ego.
Ballpark of 400-600cal per hour of cardio is good enough to guesstimate for most people. If you want to get a better feel, get on a bike with a powermeter.
And of course, don't make the classic mistake of "I exercised away 600cals, therefore I get to eat all that back". For dealing with weight loss, cals burned from cardio are a nice bonus, but you should not eat over tdee and hope to make up the difference with exercise, that's a trap.
(Assuming normal fatties with normal exercise volume like 30min to 1h average . Things are different if you're doing multiple hours, then you need to fuel at some point or you'll crash)

Highly depends on your diet, too. This is more sustainable to do if you're in ketosis. If not, insulin spikes and all that shit will fuck with your fat burning. The body adapting to ketosis (which is all that fasting is) for just one day, then going back to a "normal" diet will not burn as much fat as if you did 2 or 3 days every other week - or fuck, even every week. All of that combined does not equal nearly your calorie budget. You are way overestimating and miscounting. If it's a good brand of protein powder without a ton of filler, it should be like 100 or 120 calories a scoop. 300 grams of chicken is approximately 10 ounces, Which is around 340 calories. Two fruits are 200 calories max. Eggs are 70 calories each, so that's 350 for the eggs. That's about 900 calories total Assuming the chicken is chicken breast, which it should be if you're trying to lose weight. at 1500 calories that gives you at least 600 to play with.

Finally found out what works for me and keeps me full for lunch or dinner

One can of tuna in water, one large tomato, a small onion, a little bit of oregano and a small drizzle of vinegar and olive oil

then I eat a nectarine as a final treat

makes for a pretty nice meal

In 29 days I dropped 18 pounds by having a really good morning smoothie with vegetables and fruits, protein powder, etc., etc., and like a burger or something for lunch so far I’ve been doing pretty good. It’s easy to stay off drinking soda too once you get used to it after like a week

If this is serious then a here's few things that I've learned myself and jumps out at me.
1. Caffeine should be saved until a little later after waking up if you can, or after eating something. I've weened myself off caffeine and feel much better for it, but even when I do have it now, I have it extremely weak. It's much better in the long term for focus and anxiety, even if you think you don't get anxiety from it you'll be amazed when you remove almost all of it.
2. Seems like too long to go without eating honestly and you're bound to have some dips in energy, so it's good to eat small snacks or lunches with carbohydrates.
3. Drinking protein in a shake is nowhere near the same as eating it in real food, you really should aim to get protein from real food as much as possible. I don't remember the reasons for this but I've done both myself and there is a tremendous difference. Protein in the morning would also blunt any hunger.

I think it's fine since it's within limits, but other options are even lower which can be good if you live on fish or want to be extra safe over the long term. I ran into that problem when I realised that I was consuming fish five or six times per week. I like switching it around with mackerel, it's around just under 1/3 of the mercury content of tuna iirc, but yeah sardines are great too

just make sure you have access to a doctor if something goes wrong. if you have to go bathtub chink juice then you probably dont but you should at least do what you can by saving money and making a list of potential outs.
