Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, Starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.

First good day to report, had to help my parents mow their lawn so I didn't get a chance to prep my sloppa.
Got a salad instead from my favorite sub place. They are super cheap and are huge, they don't list any calorie counts so I had to make my best guess. I also got a food scale so I could measure things.
Man I couldn't believe the dressing was almost as many calories as the meat. I need to prep a low calorie dressing for the future so I don't get stuck needing to use theirs again that really fucked me.

That's pretty good. Obviously if it's your first week, the dosage you're on is the lowest it'll ever be at, so when it start to wane, it'll be felt a bit more noticeably.

The idea with Mounjaro is that the injections don't entirely overlap with the drug's depletion rate. So, the half-life is like 5 days, and you inject every 7th, meaning that each time you inject, you're adding to the dosage already in your system. After 4-5 doses you reach a "Steady state" where the average dose in your system stays around 4.3mg and doesn't increase with successive injections. Once you reach the steady state and you're still seeing results, just stay there until anything changes.
If you have a bad week, don't immediately consider upping your dose, give it another one before you do. You'll feel bad, but you won't lose all your progress from a bad week or two.

With side effects, they can happen. You'll almost certainly get some of them at some point. It can be anything from random chance to eating a particular type of food, or drink or whatever. Try to identify and avoid it. A lot of people just add more medication to combat the side effects rather than addressing the underlying causes, and you shouldn't really do that, but it is an easy fix.

I've found I get the sulphur burps and a bit of constipation. I'm on the 2.5mg at the moment, and I'm hoping I won't need more than the 5 to be at a steady state because that's about all I can afford.
There are rumours they may add it and Wegovy to the PBS come November, which would be kinda great because then it'll be a lot cheaper and Australia will become the land of hard bodies.

You have to consider advertising with all this stuff. They want you to go up in dose because it makes more money for them.

If you stay on 5mg for months, maybe you'll eventually lose some efficacy with the drug and start to lose some appetite suppression. But, you'll still have like 8.5mg of tirzepatide in your system, and the drug will still be effecting your appetite in a way that's meaningful compared to if you went off it entirely.
There's no real timeline on the drug losing all efficacy, and what general guideline there is out there indicate that the tirzepatide retains its effects taken at the same dose for over a year.

There's a lot of biological quirks to all this, and some people see zero effects of the drug until like 10mg. Some people see effects immediately. But, generally if you're seeing effects at 2.5mg, you'll see effects from 2.5mg for a long period of time. But, you'll see more consistent results if you go up.
However, you'll still lose weight either way, it's just a matter of consistency, speed and comfort, I suppose.

Worst case, you can quit it for 2 months, start at 2.5mg again. And realistically you're not going to regain like 10kg in 2 months, you might regain some. But, you'll probably be fine. There's no known resistance that the body builds up to the drug, and it completely leaves your system in like 6 weeks.

I think low fat greek yogurt is pretty thin, I usually get quark yogurt which is even thicker but has more protein. I usually do like 3-4 garlic cloves for 200-400g of yogurt, a pinch or two of the spices, herbs, salt and msg. Nothing too exact. Just mix, let it sit in the fridge for like 15 minutes so the flavours really get together and enjoy.

Net carbs are an oversimplification. Unless you're trying to limit carbs to stay in ketosis, you don't have to worry about them but they can have calories.
Sugar alcohols do have carbs, depends on the type.
Insoluble fiber is essentially 0 calories.
Soluble fiber can be broken down by bacteria in your gut and then digested as carbs. Roughly 2 calories per gram but depends on the exact type of fiber.

i feel the same way. i've reached a big milestone. i was a fat teenager but i worked hard to slim down in college. i'm much older now but i've returned to my college weight. that was my goal and now i'm looking past it. i've been here already. i want to go further. i want to see how far i can go.

in college, i didn't really know what i was doing. it was more luck than anything. what i did back then did work, but i didn't understand why. things are different now. now i know exactly what i'm doing. i know what works and how to do it.

About to finish my 48 hours fast. Finally, at 73.5 kgs. 70kgs is closer than ever. I just want to do one 48 hours fast every week and I'll be happy, but it makes my parents upset.
