I'm sure you can Google how to hypertrophy type-I fibers.Only have to do 2 sets one in the range associated with type-I and one in the range associated with type-II and you've pretty much maximized hypertrophy on all the fibers in that area you can. Increase load as you're able to.
Genetics play a huge role. I'm only 209 pounds and don't go out of my way to train calves even on leg day cause they're pretty solid on their own.

I'd argue that you don't really need anything more than your own bodyweight and a staircase.Just position the back half of your foot off of the step and lift onto your tippers. Super simple, super easy but I started at 10x a step for 20 steps and caught one of the worst cramps like immediately after.

Sarcopenia cut-off values are 32-34cm. The weakest 5th petcentile of 80 year old men clock in at 31.6.
