I'm 54 and the only people I see at the gym with ruined knees are retired athletes and zoomers doing high-volume bodyweight or near bodyweight workouts, like six "movements" at 3x10 or some stupid shit like that. I currently squat 500 and I've been training for strength for most of my adult life. My back is in the best shape it's ever been. I can't remember the last time I had "lower back pain". When I joined /fit/ back in 2019, the guys were making threads saying "now that we are all 4 pl8s deadlifts monsters when are we getting gfs" or something like that. At that point, 1/2/3/4 was the standard. If we think about progress, the number should be higher now, but most of those guys left many years ago so this board is probably back to dyel mode by now.
