Is this still worth it in 2025?I’m worried I won’t fit in as a beginner
>>76777680la,pf,24h are all for beginners. don't expect anything fancy, just old, squeaky machines. or spend 2x and find a better gym.
>>76777680>I’m worried I won’t fit in as a beginnerNever be worried about going to the gym. No one gives a shit and there's going to be a dozen people who are just as new and shitty at stuff as you.
shit gym desu, was based in the 80s tho
>>76777680It's the only gym I've used but I stopped going and got myself a home gym. For all their facilities I've only found the sauna to be useful, and maybe their racquetball courts when I was into tennis for a while in HS.
>>76777707fucked up the image trying to fit the 4MB limit.but I saw an LA fitness' converted their basketball court into a weight room. they added like 8 more cages.>>76777680you can hire a personal trainer there pretty cheap to help you get started.I'm a bit butthurt the other anon is mentioning LA/24 hr fitness in the same sentence as purple pussy fitness. huge difference in the clientele.
>>76777680Go somewhere else, LA jews you into bullshit contracts and their gyms suck as does their maintenance
>>76777998I mean that's part of the culture. you're supposed to negotiate your gym membership like you're at a car dealership.around 2 years ago I got 36 months $28/mo, prepaid, access to all locations.but if you only want 1 location they'll take $5/mo if you ask.I mean there's more you can negotiate. but you have to actually be OK with conflict you pussy bitch. you lift all those weights and you're afraid of a deal. you have NO BALLS.
>>76777977Wow, which LA did that picrel upgrade? Looks nice, but very unusual for a globogym to pack a bunch of Rogue stuff in there.
>>76777977i wish my 24 hour fitness would do this. the basketball court attracts too many moronic negroids and spics of the worst kind
I would consider trying to find a local gym thats privately owned or has good equipment but not too busy. I can only speak for myself here but i go to LA fitness and i live on long island, Its always fucking packed and most of the people dont even workout its full of broccoli headed fudgepackers. Ive been to multiple ones within the area and they are all like this too, i live down the road so i work with what i got but its really fucking annoying when you pull up to yhe gym at 9:30 at night and its still crowded. Not to mention the weights and bars always fucking stink i doubt they clean them at all fucking rakeshes and tyroils stink up the fuckin joint with a shit and cheap cologne cocktail that will negatively impact your pumps. Hope this helps
Kneel
>>76778253>which location did that?nice try. glowie.>>76778256yea my home gym didn't do that conversion, but they posted new rules that guests can't use the basketball court anymore, only members. I think the general plan is to get rid of these courts.the one with the conversion they also got rid of those stupid racquetball courts and made them into yoga studios.
>>76777707Powerlifting or strongman gyms run the same price with better equipment. Just no pools or saunas
no
>>76778145>he thinks every gym is contractbrown retard
>>76777777
>>76777977>bumper platesyuck, gym owners are always stuck 10 years in the past like it's a time capsule
LA Fitness super close to my office is based. Super cheap - like $25/month. Good enough hours. Sauna. Normies. Plates are the same all round, rubber coated (not olympic plates) dumbells are fine. I am super based so dont really use machines, just the lat pull machine and the dual stack cable crossover machine for pushdowns and shit. Barbells are trash with weak knurling and too much whip for a heavy duty powershitter like me. Buts its cheap, covnenit and close to my office.Kids, grannies, normies, some better lifters. Its a decent mix. Its probably fine for you.
>>76779745What's wrong with bumpers? Honestly best all around plate because you can dump it and do oly lifts.
>>76779778They take up too much space for anybody who squats or deadlifts more than 405 and it makes the bar whip around a lot which sucks for anything that isn't cleans or deadlifts.
>>76778286Is mafia still on long island? Some mafia guys are muscular like vince filipelli and sammy the bull
>>76779931yeah but its not like in the movies, i hear about it but its mostly in the city or western long island. Those guys lay real low probably because of all the films and tv shows that put that lifestyle in the spotlight however, i used to hear stories from older guys about how they would see guys walking on rooftops with rifles at night in certain towns. That was back in the day though i never personally seen anything.
>>76778145t. Muzzie
>>76780136As far as i know they never really wanted to get involved in drugs and when they finally buckled it blew up in their face. I wouldnt put it past them though.
LA fitness is either the most out dated piece of shit or freshly renovated with new and good equip, and there's no in between it's also crazy expensive for what it is, and the salespeople up front are some serious sharks. i've had easier times at dealerships, fucking insane. if you're new though you should just go to planet fitness, less people somehow and they're almost all new
>>76780293what new and good equip do they have? i can't imagine them carrying prime, arsenal, panatta, newtech, megamass or even atlantis. PF actually carries hammer strength MTS line, lifefitness cable machines /w dual cables, and other decent varieties. but i heard they are getting matrix machines in now, which are the worst POS you can buy, esp. the plate loaded ones.
>>76780293>>76780713Basically, all the globogym brands figured out strength training has become more popular, so they’re all frantically tossing out cardio machines and replacing them with more lifting equipment. That’s why you see a lot of places putting in those half racks with the platforms attached and various plate-loaded machines. They stock a select few pieces from hammer strength, but the rest is usually matrix shit.>prime, arsenal, etc.PF/LA/Crunch etc. marketing people keep current with whatever the meme of the moment is, so right now a lot of these places are getting arsenal pendulum squats (but not much else). If they have prime, etc., it’s usually one or two pieces to say they have it. Most of these brands have deals with big suppliers like matrix and give franchisees a menu of options on equipment to fill up their gyms; they’re usually pretty limited to keep costs in-line with the startup costs they quote in their disclosures. For an LA to have a setup like >>76777977, I think a franchisee would have to get some special dispensation from hq. It varies based on your clientele, too: for instance, the one nearest to me is mostly older people, so they did not invest a lot in weight machines. Dumbbells are usually ok, barbells are shit cap-tier stuff.>t. someone who has a lot of franchise xp
My planet fitness just got free weights and power racks, and still is only like $20/month so as far as value goes, it's the best in my area by a mile. Even as a "beginner" gym
>>76779815This. Weightlifting is fun, but not as productive for building muscle or strength. Weightlifting bars lack central knurling needed for squats.
You’ll fit in
>>76781465Yet mine is stuck with smith machines, awesome
