Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

I made PB&J sandwich and weigh it.
It's 115g, so if we assume two sandwiches are about ~250g.
PB is 70% fat, 20% protein, and 10% carbs
Bread is 70% carb, 15% protein, and 15% fat
Jam is nearly 100% carbs
And since one toast of bread is about 50g, this mean 15g is for both the PB&J.
With quick math you get about ~1200 calories in two sandwiches, with 36 g of protein.
It's good if you want to gain but not to lose weight unless that would be your only meal for the day.
I know a co-worker that mostly eat this, but she divide it all over the day, and she's pretty fit and spend most of her work day on her feet.
Since she claims this help her focus on the job.

What most people don't realize is these are pretty much trap, since it looks lighter that it actually is, look at this future landwhale.
Each slice is about 100g which doesn't feel like 100g and more like 30 or so, and she ate 5 of these in one setting.
If assuming all of those slices were 100% carbs, we are looking at 2000 calories of pure refined sugar, and would still be hungry after 2 hours.
500 g of pasta is enough to feed 5 people

well here I am for the upteenth year as the new year rolls in finally trying to change my relationship with food and to lose the weight. I am not insanely overweight but I'd like to get a GW of 185 and I'm probably around 220lbs now. I've always just had a terrible relationship with food and enjoy takeout food binges. Starting yesterday I have been counting my calories everyday and I am reading pic related book. Even with Ashwagandha 70g of carbs wasn't enough and I had weeks where I'd go as low as 50g. It's fine though, it's bloody christmas. Denying yourself treats on regular days is one thing but I'm not going to go full grinch mode just for pretty number on a scale.
