I did a chicken wing and fries challenge, a big deli sandwich, and a steak and sides challenge. Beat all 3.Ballooned up to 220, legs holding a lot of water from all the sodium in those damn 2lbs of fries.I looked like squidward after the crabby patties.Been doing 4 hours of cardio a day, 1 hr lifting. >>77141133CICO only works if you actually eat less, which you clearly aren't doing you fat shit.

Fatty ContestHerniatedLife448.6lbs5'10"Back again, I've lost track of how many times I've done this. Don't feel like digging up my old info so decided just to make a new name and start fresh. Wasn't going to do the fatty contest and just randomly post progress but using the general again has motivated me and it can't hurt to have the extra accountability. Taking a more radical approach this time instead of just trying to wing it. Doing a very controlled diet of just a few foods so it's more difficult to cheat. Yes I know my toenails are fucked up, I can't reach them to cut them myself so I can only get them cut every so often. You can still make fun of me for it though I don't mind. Glad to be back on the wagon again hopefully for the last time.
>>77141410>Doing a very controlled diet of just a few foods so it's more difficult to cheat.I see no flaw in this plan. After all, it's worked for every anorexic ever
>>77141419Sorry what I meant is I don't have a variety of things I would want to eat sitting around tempting me. I prepped everything for the specific meals ahead of time so there's nothing else to eat but what I got which is all healthy. In the past I would just buy whatever and force myself to just eat less. But I was never able to actually control myself well and have yoyo'd hundreds of pounds over the last few years. Now I'm trying it having nothing but exactly what I planned ahead of time in the home so the temptation is removed at least while I am at home. Still haven't perfected the times I have to get out and eat out.

Crosstrainer makes my back hurtTreadmill makes my legs hurtWeights make my arms and chest hurtI think I'm just too weak for this nonsense
>>77141489That's basically what I'm doing. I mentioned in a previous thread I'm making a big ass salad once a day and that's my only meal. No croutons or anything so it's pretty much carb free except maybe a little in the dressing. I'm using a homemade ranch using greek yogurt for the base. Did it for 5 days last week all using canned chicken. This week I wanted to mix it up so yesterday I made taco meat using ground beef and spices. That was really good. I mixed up the leftovers with some chicken today and that was even better. Going to try rotating different meats in the salads so I don't get bored. I really think I've hit on something though. I just don't feel good unless I feel full from a meal. But I can't do that if I'm eating rice/pasta/potatoes and other shit. But if it's salad I can make a massive bowl and it's hardly any calories. I'm dumping tomatoes and cucumbers and some berries and whatever and it fills me up and I feel satisfied. It's the first meal I've been able to come up with that doesn't make me feel like shit after eating it and I'm actually sticking to it so far.

Suddenly, there's not a massive amount of weight crushing down on your joints. However, if you typically sleep with your knees together, you will need to invest in another pillow to put between your knees because it's just going to be joint on joint action and it's going to hurt. It will also become very difficult to sleep on firm surfaces because your hip bone, your elbows, everything is now pressing against hard surface. You have in a way lost a lot of cushion.

Definitely shows on my shirt though.
>>77143128sorry you're fat
>>77143152Yeah but either way you can have high sodium all the way through your diet and then at the end cut it out and itll be the exact same thing after a week tops as if youd been low sodium the whole time. Conversely, you could stay low sodium all diet and at the end start eating a lot of sodium and it will basically be like you were high sodium the whole timeIt being difficult to find low sodium foods doesnt really change thisMy point is if eating high sodium foods that fit your calories and macros makes your diet more tolerable go for it. correct it down the road when you have less to manage

I'm down 22 lbs since January 14. 1000 calorie deficit daily, 40-60 mins zone 4 cardio daily.Started at 240, want to get to 170.
Its cold and rainy but I'm still gonna go for my runGetting past 180 by the end of the month would be so cool
>>77143418GL anon <180 is my goal rn toocold and rainy is awesome running weather too. I always take way longer to feel tired. Just sucks to start
>>77143406Good job anon, im in the same boat as you. Officially Started January 7th and just hit 35 lbs down. Started at 280 and my goal is ~220. If im correct in my guessing, estimating and measurements I should hit ~15 to 17 %bodyfat at that weight.
>>77140689>be me>6ft, 90kg>skinny fat dyel>hit the gym for 3 months>barely see any visual progress>decide to cut>3 months later>75kg now>still have flabsSo my BMI is 22.4 now, surely I should have a flat stomach? Idk man. The minimum BMI to be health is 18, which for me means a floor of 60kg. If I'm not lean by 67kg, a BMI of 20, that's fucking concerning. I just want to see abs, I don't even want to be shredded af. And I know I don't have a lot of muscle but fuck me, this is a shocker.Ideally, my FFMI would be 22 minimum at around 12% bodyfat, which is 84kg. The idea of gaining 17-24kg, most of which is lean tissue, is just insane. That's not even a crazy FFMI. Idk if my bones are hollow and fucking with my numbers or my math is so off.But first I have to lose the fat. Another 8-15kg of it...
>>77143431anon unless you're an elite athlete or 7 feet tall you're most likely not going to be 15% bodyfat at 220 lbs
>>77143431>>77143467It's funny how people really misunderstand bodyfat. There are plenty of dudes in the NBA that are like 6'7 220 in the high teens bodyfat and people probably think theyre closer to 10%
>>77143448liposuction
>>77143448I was in the same boat as you, 6ft 86kg skinnyfat. looked like shit until i hit ~77kg at which point i became at least human shaped. it took cutting to 73kg and a year of progress in the gym for me to have visible abs and minimal belly fat / love handles. You're basically in the right weight range where you could easily be lean and fit, you just need to focus on building muscle at this point. Just keep at it in the gym, train hard eat your protein and eat at maintenance. Your body should easily be able to continue building muscle and losing fat under this conditions for at least a year.
>>77143471it's a lot easier to understand if you look at it through the lens of FFMI. Your average person will not have a FFMI over 20. Once you have this frame of reference you realize it's literally impossible to be a certain body fat% at a certain weight unless you've spent years in the gym. If that anon has been lifting for 5-10 years then I would believe his estimate to be possible, but most people here haven't even strung multiple months together of significant lifting, hence my doubts
>>77143428Its so true, the shitty weather is the best running weather but you gotta drag your ass out there to begin withIts been a while since I've run consistently. I had a sub 5 mile and a sub 17:30 5k in highschool. I was a quick motherfucker but 10+ years of smoking and getting fat will definitely take that away from you. Hoping to at least get up to nice and consistent 30 minite runs at a reasonable paceIf we keep it up we'll break that 180 barrier soon for sure. WAGMI

>>77143889Your body has to run on something, it's simply not possible to go below a minimum caloric daily expenditure which depends on your size and activity1000 deficit is pretty steep but it might not be depending on how you calculated your initial baseline, could be totally wrong which would explain initial waterweight loss and then the stall
>>77143889Absolute bullshit. The whole idea of "starvation mode" is literally when you are on the brink of starving to death and your body diverts heat and blood flow away from lower priority processes. Even then the effect has limitations and doesn't actually stop you from starving to death, or you know just losing weight. Not a single overweight western faggot making an incorrect article about it has experienced that suffering.
>>77141440wisdom pills and truth nukes:if you fail at dieting you should try different diet to find the one that works bestcan't outrun a bad dietit is possible to get good at losing weightat that point you understand that maintaining is the difficult partmost people gain back the weight, but you can just diet againmeasure and track things routinelybuy a kitchen scalebuy a scale to measure your weightbuy a tape measure to track waistyou don't have to eat everything, you can just throw away food without eating itrunning is a drug, possibly useful to abuse when you get to maintainfood is a drug, most noticeable when you some type of fastingdrugs go harder when fasted but be carefuleating makes you more hungry, this is the idea behind appetizersit can be easier to not eat all than to just a little bitstatistically speaking, only women and gay men get anorexia so if you are not either of those, you should not worry
>>77143889it is real and well-supported. dramatic to call it "starvation mode" (though i'm not sure how fasting affects it in particular) but it's both that weighing less lowers your energy expenditure proportionally and that there's an extra factor of metabolic downregulation due to long-term calorie restriction that exceeds what you'd expect based on the weight loss. the degree to which this happens varies depending on the person. it shouldn't put a hard stop to your weight loss though, it's probably just an arbitrary plateau that will pass. there is a study that says lifting helps keep your metabolism higher through weight loss: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18356845/
>>77143930>metabolic downregulationWhat downregulation could there possibly be?Does heartrate slow down? Not reallyDoes digestive function slow down? Okay sure, because you're eating less thoughDoes respiratory function slow down?NopeDoes filtration/waste management/cell-turnover slow down? No? So what could be a possible metabolic downregulation? Why wouldn't the body always have it downregulated if its that unimportant, after all its more beneficial from a survival standpoint to be efficient with calorie expenditure
>>77143941>Does heartrate slow down?one study says yes - dramatic circumstance and small decrease but the idea checks outhttps://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002916523137051>Does digestive function slow down?digestive system regulation as a topic is kind of beyond me but reductions in insulin and leptin are also well established as an effect of calorie restriction, see that same study and also this review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9036397/my understanding of that is that subjective hunger at least will actually increase over time with caloric restriction, can't really find info on how it would directly affect gut motility or anything>Does respiratory function slow down?it does actually change respiratory function, first study i linked shows a decrease in respiratory quotient, reducing co2 produced as fat is used as the preferred energy store in a calorie deficit, lowering the respiratory function needed to eliminate the co2.>Does filtration/waste management/cell-turnover slow down?don't personally really know anything about how cellular function is affected except that mitochondrial efficiency improves, as in the second paper i linkedof course all of these things are subtle for most people and not a reason why it's impossible for you to weigh less than 500 lbs. but i think the effect is real.as far as i understand it, restricting calories, having your metabolism downregulate, then finding a new equilibrium where you're maintaining weight with that calorie restriction is a very healthy way to be. not smart enough about historical diets to say whether or when it may have been common to live that way. most people aren't doing it now because of abundant calories in the environment and increased hunger being difficult to cope with.
>>77143941less growth and repairlower level of hormones for example the sex hormonesless fidgeting and other involuntary movementsOn cellular level there is a process called cellular uncoupling where ATP literally gets burned to make heat, this becomes down regulated more energy gets stored instead of just burnedHave you ever done fasting possibly? Some of these are noticeable. Your body will literally become colder, you get urge to put on more clothes to stay warm, you want to jack off less, you blink eyes less and more lazily.

>>77144115>starved himself for 2 years with no apparent progress define starving
>>77144053I personally found a huge mood improvement from increasing the fat in my diet (carefully, and very specific types of fat).I used to eat about 22% fat because I kind of fell for the "high protein low fat" stuff, but now I eat about 35% fat and feel a lot better. I mostly did it by cutting down my carbs a bit, and shifting my carb intake to immediately before/after training. It gave me far fewer mood swings and less irritability at work and with my toddler. But that was at the same time as eating much healthier overall and I think I might be more finely tuned than the average person, so YMMV.I had to be careful with my remaining carbs and not going into too much of a deficit though, because if I don't eat enough while still doing a lot of hard running I start getting this really crazy "parasympathetic stress response" (ChatGPT's words) where my heart rate drops to like 50bpm at work while I feel a crazy mixture of stress and despair.

>>77145665Yeah as far as lean meats concerned I prefer chicken and fish over lean red meat
>>77145669Yeah it was a mistake. Was kinda expensive too

>>77145796What are you eating? Has this been a chronic issue before you started weight loss?
>>77145796Lay off the whisky
>>77145796you gotta hold it with all your might. try going for a walk or doing something that requires concentration. that always gets me off the mid day diarrhea schedule
>>77145808Only after I started dieting but to be fair I've practically been inhaling fiber almost as much as protein
>>77145820That'll do it bro
>>77145820What sources of fiber? For me, fiber from oatmeal and fiber from raw vegetables are not equal. (Oatmeal/beta glucans seems superior for digestive health)
>>77140689Normal baker seems to be away, and didn't bless us with a preemptive nun and duck drawing for the new thread. We're fucked, boys. Everyone to the donut shop.
>>77145847/fit/ is slow, it will take this thread like a day or two to get bumped off the catty
>>77145828Not him, but same. The same weight of oats vs greenbeans is way different. A bowl of oats in the morning basically make me shit immediately. It's like the gastrocolic reflex is completely different between the two.
>>77145870Are you pre soaking your oats overnight? That is much more agreeable for my digestion, and I don't feel dehydrated after eating them.
>>77145891Nah, I just put in a bowl with water and microwave. Maybe it's the oats I'm buying, but I've never really seen the point of soaking.
Bros it's getting challenging to do my meager 16/8 and I don't think I'm even sub 100kg yetcould also be related to mental and emotional state..
I like when I have a big thing of cheese or something and the time I run out of it is in line with how much of it I've measured and tracked. I often question my ability to measure out cheese to 1/4 cup increments accurately and wonder if the slight errors will compound into me eating a lot more of it than I thought I was
Anyone ever rucked for weight loss? Kinda feels like a cheat code. I went for 90 minutes the other day and burned 1000 calories.
Is there anything in zero sugar monster energy that would affect weight loss?I've been trying to cut individual things out of my daily intake to see how the scale changes and for some reason weight has started shedding off after cutting my daily monster zero out but keeping everything else the same. I notice I'm feeling hungrier too. Trying to figure out if this is a coincidence or not.
>>77146043Just because it doesn't have calories doesn't mean its good for you.
>>77146041How did you figure that 1000 calories?
>>77146040Who the fuck measures cheese in fractions of a cup?
>>77146056That's the serving size. I usually stick to 1/4 cup or 80 calories or so of mozzarella in most of the wraps I make.
>>77146056>fat loss general>who measures cheese
aaaaaaaaa

I am not fat, but when I was scrolling for the running thread I saw some little nuns and felt the need to drop in and mention how much I love the little nuns
>>77146072It's definitely off by a lot. Do you trust the ellipticals at your gym too?
I lost 14kg since the start of the year.
>>77146058My bad, I forget that Americans have weird-ass serving sizes. In aus literally every solid food is in grams
>>77146091No one cares about your poor faggot country
>>7714607690 minutes of solid rucking should be about 6 miles walked, if they're carrying a shitload and going uphill it could be 1k cals
>>77146072Post these things here:>your weight >ruck weight>time spent (you said 90 minutes)>miles walkedWe'll assume incline averaged to zero as you would have had to walk back to where you started.
>>77146058Anon you need to buy a food scale and weigh your food. The serving size and calories is based on the grams. You can easily fit double the real serving size in a 1/4 cup measuring spoon.>>77146091Every food in the US is also sold in grams. That anon needs to learn how to accurately count calories.
Posting what worked for me, went for 145kg to 95kg>about 700 cal deficit from maintenance calculated at sedentary>never counted workouts into it>10000 steps every day, no excuses>cycled caloric deficit, increased calories on 3 days of the week reduced on 4 days of the week, still same average weekly deficit, helps with metabolic adaptation and motivation>example, my caloric allowance was 1900 a day>monday wednesday friday ate 2100ish calories>rest of the week ate 1700ishdidnt check macros.
>>77146175how long did it take you?

>>77146204im not having problems, i just upped my steps per day by about 5k or so, last week i dropped from 96 to 95kg. so still making good progress, if i hit a stall ill just drop another 100 calories and do a few thousand more steps a day. easy.

Down 22lbs this year. On a three day streak of hitting a new low. 226.4 lbs this morning. Just ate my meal for the day and took a huge shit. Gunning for 225 tomorrow.Have outdoor activities planned all weekend, so will get a lot of steps and and burn some calories. Healthiest I’ve felt in yearsStarted doing a pushup set every day increasing by 1 until failure. Did 25 today, and definitely had a few more in the tank
kinda starting to hate everythingI really really loved food, specially the sloppa unhealthy ones like pizza, burgers, fried chickenbut i've been eating healthy and shit for weightloss reasons, mostly I want to live longer to enjoy more stupid shit of coursebut I cant even enjoy that same garbage food anymore, just the other day I had some pizza as a cheat meal and holy fuck did I feel like shit afterthat was never a thing before, now I dont even want pizza anymorebut that sucks, I loved the joy from eating some big ass pizza all by myself, and that joy is gone now...
>>77146433Everything enjoyable is bad for you and makes you feel like shit. You've had the alcoholic's revelation, you will be a boring cunt to the end of your days now.
>>77146441that sucks and you're probably rightmaybe I need to take shrooms or something and give myself a drug induced lobotomy to be happy again
>>77146433I'm in that spot where I won't live that much longer fit or fat. Some days I wonder why I am even trying since even if I magically woke up tomorrow in perfect shape it's way to late to have a family or a meaningful career. The things I dreamed of as a kid like owning my own business or having a bunch of kids are just fantasies. Getting fit now would just make the last bit of my life a little less physically painful. It can't help me mentally or give me back the things I lost. A few more years to play games and work a soul crushing job. Yay...I'm not saying other people shouldn't try to get fit. But if you wait too long you lose most of the benefits. Hopefully reincarnation is the true religion and my soul gets a second chance. It's probably just oblivion though and the one opportunity I had was mostly wasted.
>>77146156Starting weight was 148, ending weight was 144. Ruck weighed 44lbs, time 1:29, distance 7.1mi, on hilly terrain.
