I know this is bait, but, are people in this board braindead? none of the responses stated the obvious:
how many times do you need to start a new process in a game? 1? who the fuck cares about fork? also, what 3 calls? you only need 2 per process lmao

No, most syscalls in C dynamically link directly to the function code, there is no CPU interrupt like ASM.

Why is a man vacuuming?
>>
>>108510985
the ball is evil and will destroy your wrist
>>
>>108510985
a vacuum would require a hose smaller than the ball in the joint so the ball joint would be pretty big compared to two normal hinges carrying a hose which would still offer the necessary two degrees of freedom. if you need a third axis a flexible hose in a bearing is still better than stuffing a hose in a big ball (for a vacuum you dont need true 360 deg freedom along the shaft but even then you can seal bearings to be air tight enough pretty trivially in terms of design, though the cost might be a little high for a shitty domestic vacuum)

and it looks double hinged to me so its probably fine to use as is but still saves weight and is relatively easy to assemble and marginally serviceable once delivered to the consoomer so im not really seeing an issue with the device in the op

yet again software "engineers" prove that they are not good at engineering, let alone even understand the physical world around them at all

>I thought ram was supposed to go down
Who the hell told you this?
>>
Ram was at a historic all time low because they made too much capacity during lockdown expecting the world to need more hardware perpetually. That didn't happen and thus the price cratered.

The price you see now is very close to the new normal it will maybe go down from 400 to 300 but not reach the unprofitable lows we saw two years ago. That will most likely never happen again.
>>
The scarcity of affordable ram has created demand for moar ram.

The cheat is to just go back to ddr4 ram.

It is a thing already. Prototype devices exist. I mean, near consumer grade stuff. Chink phones might roll out something like that soon, but it's a gimmick, power losses are very high. It can figure out where your device is only if you have wifi with very precise beamforming capabilities. So it's a phisical tracker, 0 privacy. Also >>108508409 is not a joke, it can do that. Maybe not your brain. But your balls and eyes? That's the most vulnerable parts of a human body when it comes to high power rf emissions that can cook you.
>>
Wireless charging already requires the charger to be just right to even work. A centimeter in one direction will kill the connection.
>>
>>108508380
companies were developing this like a decade ago, but i think it's really expensive and hard to deliver enough power.

How much power does your phone need anyway and is it really that bad if you have to double that number?

This major is only worth it if you're like the top 10% of candidates while the rest of the 90% of CS graduates will end up working at McDonald's. All your hopes and dreams, all your effort towards this major, all of it flushed down the shitter while stuck with thousands of dollars of debt.

>I think what was happening is that I was sending too many signals to the GPU to keep up with. any more than a thousand changes to this one uniform was just too much.
You know that a normal game changes uniforms for every single mesh every single frame right?

>>108514420
what the fuck are you talking about
>>
>>108514409
I was editing up to 10000 of them and still running at 166 fps.
No uniform buffer objects or SSBOs. All of them changing constantly every frame. Also all using the same instance of a mesh drawn one at a time.

also note that it didn't cause the VRAM usage to rise if I didn't change the model matrix. It was fine if the data being uploaded was the same among all of them, even if it's the same number of glUniform calls.

I know I'm not doing everything that an experienced OpenGL programmer would do. I've just been trying to figure out why this specific issue was happening to me. I still haven't been able to find a better explanation.
>>
>>108514446
You need to start from the most likely explanations first and work from there
You're running out of GPU memory - look at all the functions that allocate GPU memory and where they're being called
Don't assume you're doing something so special and out of the ordinary that you've stumbled upon some arcane bug because you probably haven't

99.99% of the complexity of yt-dip is overcoming anti-downloading measures that YouTube constantly updates against them. Why do you think it has js shit in it? For fun? It's because they have to literally run blackbox Google JavaScript to generate challenge responses in order to access the good quality download versions. You'd better hope they manage to get SABR working before Google forces that too.

Some people don't want to spend way past $1,000 for a gaming video card, it's not about "can't". The new games out there are pretty uneventful.
Some people don't want a gaming video card that consistently draws over 400W of power, especially one with no load balancing on the PCB.

>this does NOT make them safer in any capacity if you have a good cable with less than 2A gap per pin
A video card that is designed to draw less power through the new power connectors are safer because they're operating at a higher safety margin.
>>
>>108514398
That's an odd observation you just brought up because on thinking about it, it seems to be true. I can recall a tiny few reports of 5070 Tis with a burnt cable but that must be the absolute worst case scenario of bad cable and bad connector. I cannot remember a single story about a 5080 getting that problem.

I've been torrenting without a vpn for a decade in new zealand and I've never been contacted
It costs the copyright holder 3 x $25 notices and $275 to bring you into civil court to pursue a fine up to $15,000, but nobody was ever fined anything close to that figure. They don't even bother sending letters, it's not worth it.
>One NZ (ISP with 20% of the fixed broadband market) reported receiving zero referrals from rights holders, issuing zero infringement notices, and receiving zero challenges in their most recent reporting period
I've always said that if I ever received a notice I would get a vpn but it's not going to happen unless the US leans on us and our laws change.

I don't use comfy myself but for big changes you sometimes have to crank the denoise strength way up, I had to set it to 0.9 last night for something

There's something really wrong with you if you're spending significant amounts of time trying to get a model to inpaint text properly instead of just spending <1 minute fixing it with an image editor.
