>/g/ makes a 19th album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

>and it uses alot more power in many workloads as well, completely negates the idle power advantage
It actually doesn't unless you have a 24/7 queue of full tilt workloads. If you're doing stuff at 25% or less throughout the day Intel wins on power consumption. That kind of work would be heavily single threaded as well so it would just be better on Intel. I'm talking from experience here on a 14900K I'm maxing out single cores so there's no world where I wouldn't want a 285K over a 9950X. A lot of workstation scenarios that absolutely crave single core speed over everything, it's legacy software and software that has no choice but to run on one. You are vastly underestimating the lead Intel has in single threaded performance. The 14900K (my P cores at 5.9GHz) eats the lunch of current gen Ryzen no problem. 285K more so. 270K and 290K soon more so.
If you need a perma-perfectly threaded render station sure Threadripper has no equal.

Intel CPUs are faster and more stable at getting down into ultra low power states without disrupting work. I can literally watch my CPU drop to under 5 watts if I stop moving the mouse and this has been the case since the 10900K days and prior. AMD tried to get into ultra low power states with Ryzen in the past but their shit would crash so they ditched it for perma 40W draw on a 6 core 3600 (just mentioning this one because I own it and I've tested this)

Drop in upgrade path is a nothing-burger for 99% of users who just build a system and ride it for a few years. You don't want to drop anything into an old board, AM4 was an anomaly and it's not going to happen that way again, except if we include LGA 1700.
>>
>>107631574
You'll never convince him. He just looks at max workloads and bases all power consumption on that. 99% chance he is a Hardware Unboxed watcher.
Actually 100% if he talks about upgrade paths...
The only ever decent one in history was the 5800X3D and maybe the 5950X if you properly utilise it.
Normalfags can't update the BIOS either, so that's a problem too.

>>
>>107631662
I require single core speed on Windows only software, I'm sure these benchmarks are really relevant to me. It also says the 285K had the same power draw as 9950X and that's during heavy work. Now leave both on doing nothing for a day and see what happens.

Are you still with us, Doctor Freeman? Not for much longer I think.

>have you checked the source code of the matrix server and protocol
There are multiple matrix homeservers out there and the protocol doesn't have a source code.

I run a homeserver and allow my users to login there, reusing their accounts.
I know the matrix-synapse code base, i contributedba little to it, i wrote add-ons and i know other people who develop on it.
The main purpose of it is the group chats, DMs are just a second minor thought.

If you want me to switch to XMPP, you will have to tell me what benefits it would have. I am open to it. But i don't see any here?
There is a person investing hours upon hours telling us that matrix is bad and that XMPP is good, but he wasn't able to form even one argument.
Instead we read braindead bullshit, that would be a total timewaste to reply to:
>matrix servers get metadata, thats why its bad, xmpp servers get metadata as well, but thats ok

Browsers. Firefox is okay, but its recent decisions make me want to switch. I use Linux, which gives me a bit more variety. I tried to use a terminal-based web browser as my main browser, but it won't work for everything.

I am considering switching to Brave, but I am not so sure about that.

Does any anon know some good browsers?

Edge is on Linux too
>>
>>107631220
Microsoft Edge is proprietary spyware unless you're using it in the Microsoft ecosystem in which case it's totally okay
>>
>>107627303
Firefox is more than 50% owned by Google, but it's the only non Chromium browser if you don't count it's forks, will have full support of uBO forever.
Brave pretends to be Firefox on Chromium, shills Crypto, sold it's soul to Palantir, will lose uBO support (like any other Chromium browser) soon™, and their integrated blocker is as "good" as uBO Lite.
Google Chrome is, well, Google Chrome, gonna just put Safari in the Chrome line because there's just no point in these 2.
Microsoft Edge is, well, owned by Microsoft, sadly it is the fastest option on Windows 10 & 11 if you use that, they still support uBO but will eventually stop.
Opera/OperaGX is just a complete meme overall, no need to even mention them being a Chinese honeypot, because the browser itself is worse than being just a honeypot.
Vivaldi is "ok", but they pretend they won't get into AI just to bait their users, their browser is literally based on Chromium, lol, their UI is also childish/mid.

TL;DR: All browsers are fucking dogshit, not a single one respects you including their makers, and all of them have AI in them, including Firefox & Vivaldi, which a lot of people don't know apparently, just use whatever looks prettier to you and runs better on your machine.
>>
>>107627303
I use Vivaldi. The worst part is that it's closed source, but I enjoy the features. Built-in email client that is honestly the most sane email client I've come across, native vertical tabs and gestures. It being Chromium based is good for both privacy (fingerprinting) and for addon compatibility.

You are making the assumption that the government has your best interests in mind which is wrong.
It will increase suffering.
Anyone that disagrees with the government will be considered a criminal.

Besides there is a different between legality and morality, ie imo it's moral to take mushrooms but entirely illegal to do so where i live. But what i chose to do in my own home with my own body is none of the government's business.

I'm sure """AI""" is a subjectively valuable crutch for lazy, aphantasic golems with delusions of creativity. That doesn't make the slop generated by the machine valuable. They're just selling you a "creator experience" and you then supplement it by LARPing online and showing off your trash, but anyone who bothers to spend 20 seconds looking at your gens can see how shit they are and immediately realize you didn't bother to do that much yourself. It's really just about the LARP of creating something when you're incapable of creating anything.
>>
>>107630445
In the same way that providing monkeys with miniature catapults to fling shit at passers-by may be a "valuable tool to them on a fundamental level". AI does nothing for art except provide people with zero talent, drive, or imagination with an easier time to flood the internet with low quality content. This techtard obsession with utility and efficiency for its own sake is genuine insanity.

Trump's second term would be W11: a fucking mess but it's supporters are willing to turn a blind eye to all its faults.

Trump's first term would be W10: Its fans stuck with it expecting the next iteration to be more of the same but it was worse.

Biden would be W10 ARM. In essence is the same as W10 but in practice is completely useless, doesn't fix any of the issues of W10 and has its own problems.
